Verse of the day. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Impressive choice of Glass ! 😉👍 For most Airgunners, Less is More ! I get weary of guys going straight to a Target Scope. 🤦🏼♂️ A 3-12 is a big scope for me. Mind you I will go to a 6-18 or 6.5-20 out past 100 yards. Honestly had the best success with the 6-18 over the years. 🤔
Thank you Paul. Yes, the target 🎯 looked really small at that distance. I was not exactly steady for every shot either and the wind 🌬️ did not help. Maybe I need to go to my old tree strip, with a cane blade and clear it out and make 100 yards and try again. I have had certain times when I was out target 🎯 practicing, and the wind died down to nothing and I could consistently plink a soup can at 100 yards.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 ...and with that remark, a nice subject for another video is born: "which scope setup will endure the whips of such air-rifles while offering great sight at these distances?". This could have the form of a 100 to 1000 pellets retrospective analysis. Just a thought. Nice video though.
Great video and editing Chuck! That group was still very good considering the wind. How much were you holding over at that distance. I once tried pushing my PCP out to that distance, but the group wasn't good, I found after 65 mtrs the 4.5 pellets loses a lot of momentum. Really enjoyed the video!!
Another good video chuck considering the wind 😮and distance you did well and made an enjoyable video what power is the rifle. Keep up the good work and most of all have fun good on you alan
I shot a wine cork at 70 yds with an old Gamo Bigcat .177 (2010) with Crosman 10.5 domes, Outlook 3-9x40 scope, and won $25 on a bet! It's basically the same as a Varmint that they sell now. I also installed a charliedatuna GRT-lll trigger blade. Full 450mm rifled barrel which is stock. Excellent gun now. It's got about 13 fpe stock. Good scope, good trigger, good gun! On a budget.
@@kurthenze2900 I don't have a bench where I go & just stand there & set it on a chicken wire fence, so not stable. I'm happy I can hit a pan. I'll have to get better setup to aim at something that small. Oh & it wasn't until after I left that I realized I never went past 3x magnification, lol.
@@vashmatrix5769 Mine was shot off my friends deck. Just using the hand railing, with a slight downhill. No bags or nuthin, just the rail. A shot that surprised us both! One I'll always remember. 😌
What distance did you zero at and how many mil dots to get out to 100 yards? The reason why I ask is because I have a .177 HW95K doing 11.4ftlb about 840fps with JSB RS. I think this has the same sort of trajectory as your .22 HW80. From a 30 yard zero I need 2 mil dots for 60 yards, and I think 90 yards was about 5 1/2 mil dots. It gets difficult to see where the pellets go at long distances, I think I need a spotting scope! Thanks for the video, it's nice to see how others are doing.
I'm not 100% certain, but it was at least a 12 inch drop. I have it sighted in for 25 yards. I would do much better sighting it in at least 40-50 yards for such a long shot. I was not really pleased with how my shooting went, since I had done much better in the past, but the wind screwed everything up.
Hey how’s it going brother. I just got my first Weihrauch in the mail today. I was wondering do you have some “straight out of the box automatic maintenance” tips? Should I be oiling the metal and wood with anything special to protect the blueing and wood finish for years to come? Also do you oil the outside of your rifles after every use? I’m about to get the gunk out of the barrel but I want to make sure I do everything possible to maintain and keep the rifle looking new for as long as I can
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I am now a proud owner of a .22 Hw95 luxus as well as having a .177 hw 35e and .22 hw50s on order. I guess I’m already deep in the hole. Thanks for the reply buddy
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I've ordered another Gamo GR-Magnum in .22 and I want to tune it down to 19-20 fpe. And hope that it won't be a scope eater. I love the stock on it, and the true 500mm rifled barrel. And it fits my stubby (minus the first joint) little trigger finger. I think it will be a real tack driver at that power level. Your HW-80 is also 500mm. Some day I will join you in the Weihrauch fever! Lol! Ha Ha!
