New sub here, thank you for the excellent video and review Scotch. I've been a Glock guy for 32 years and bought my first M&P last year... an M&P9 2.0 in 9mm, w/3.6" bbl & manual safety (the main reason I bought it.) I love the grip, It's fun to shoot, accurate, and is now my EDC.

All they need to do now is release a companion folding 10mm pcc which would be an awesome pairing

Thanks for the video Sootch! I definitely want to shoot one, but I’m going to wait and see how it does for a while. Yours isn’t the first video I’ve seen with this pistol having some failures. Also, I’ve heard too many people saying their M&P 10mm’s had problems running hotter ammo, and imo a 10mm that can’t run hot loads is pointless. My FN510 has been 100% reliable so far with everything, including 220grn buffalo bore.

Nice addition to the PC lineup. Love my regular 2.0 10mm.

Got this pistol, cleaned and lubed it and put 150rds of various ammo through it with no issues. Shoots very well, accurate with a good-for-striker-fired trigger. Will have to put another 500rds down range before I trust it, but liking it so far!

Have one and love it. Has alot less recoil than RIA 10mm 1911. Mine shot fmj with no feed issues.

Good video! I have been a big fan of the 10mm ever since I shot my friends Colt Delta several years ago. Up till then I had never shot one, I shot the full house 10mm loads and I was impressed. I now have 2 10mm, a 1911 and a S&W Mod 610 6 1/2", I really like using the moon clips they make reloading the gun so much faster.

The frame safety is easily removed and you can order frame plugs from S&W for around $15 shipped. I’m no gunsmith and I had zero problems removing mine on my 2.0 subcompact.

I own this same model pistol absolutely love it! I personally have had not a single problem with my pistol with FTF. The first generation S&W had problems with FTF. Most from what I found is that putting a stronger recoil springs had stopped this problem. But from what info I gathered it looked to be a mag springs problem than a recoil springs problem. When I purchased my piston I also bought 3 heavy duty mags springs for it. Didn’t have any problems with the stock springs but I did take both of my stock springs out to compare them with the heavy duty ones. And there is a 2 inch difference in spring length in stock vs heavy duty although they have the exact same coil count with each other. I put the new ones in just for the sake that it is abundantly clear the stock springs are under sprung. They definitely squished down in size after leaving your mag fully loaded for a while. I have the Timney alpha trigger on mine with RMR I absolutely love this pistol have shot every round I can get my hands on without a single problem. Great video as always and for the price and what you get from buying this pistol. There isn’t a 10mm out there that has everything you see here for the price that they are sold for. I would recommend this pistol to anyone that is looking at getting a 10mm. Thanks again 🫡

If any of you guys are having trouble with removing the bolts for the cover plate, i found the star bit that comes with the dagger RMR cut slide fits the bolts on the pistol perfectly i had issues with finding a right size and that bit solved it

I had a kimber stainless 2 snd thay was the most jamming turd ivr ever owned. Happy with my new G40 in 10mm

I agree about the finish as well. It's definitely my favorite finish on any gun I've seen

About 2 years ago S&W came out with the M&P Performance Center 45, that is exactly the same pistol as this 10mm Performance Center. All they did was change the barrel and put on night sight. My guess is that the 45 was a washout and didn't sell so they change it to a 10mm in hopes of better sales.

I have been watching Sootch for so long, we have gone grey and bald together. Makes me feel a LITTLE better about Father Time.

As always you do a great review and I really like your bloopers. I looked at one of these the other day and I went back to buy one and someone already bought it. I have two 10MM 3.8 and a 4.5 Springfield XDM ELITE and I love them but I want the Smith and Wesson 10MM.

Cool pistol, but if i could choose any Smith & Wesson for me, i would still prefer the classic 5906. This company should consider a comeback of the classic pistols.

Almost bought the S&W 10mm, nice looking pistol, but the feed problem scared me away........No sale......when you're in a life/death situation you can't second guess what your gun might/might not do for you.........get the Springfield TRP in 10mm, FBI built standard & approved.

Shield plus 10mm dream carry gun

The slide stop works much easier with a loaded mag or without an empty mag. It's tuned for an authoritative mag insertion to release it like a good gun should.

I've seen where a lot of people have took the Glock 20 spring out used in Smith & Wesson 10 mms when shooting heavier round

I’ll take a 1911 type safety on a striker pistol.

These pistols have a serious design flaw with their magazines. With ammunition that has a wide nose (underwood hard cast 200 or 220 for example) the magazine catch will be pushed out of the mag by the nose of the bullet durring cycling causing the mag to fall out of the gun. So be sure your intended ammunition leaves some room in that window for the mag catch or after 1 or 2 shots you'll be holding a paperweight.

Obviously made for the Roland Special setup. The comped 5.6 affords the option of a full size light without extending beyond the barrel. Much less pricey than adding a KKM plus optic cut to the G20.

That performance center would make a great handgun for deer hunting when it’s low light those night sights will come in handy

Great review and I'll have to check these out! I have a love/hate relationship w/my Glock G40... hate the ergos, but love the reliability and it shoots quite nicely, given a little trigger/spring work.

The nice thing about the thumb safeties on the M&P guns is that you can operate the slide with the safety on. Makes it a little safer when loading and unloading.

Due to the 3 malfunctions, did you oil it out of the box?

I have the m&p 10mm, got it a few months ago. It's definitely my favorite pistol I've shot. My only gripes are that I believe the spring weight is a little too light, and the trigger is a little gritty.

Great review Ty. Do you happen to know if a 10 round magazine is available for this gun? Unfortunately my state on allows 10 round magazines.

I'm already happy and satisfied with what I have (an AR15 Radical Firearms RF-15 and two pistols being Glock 34 Gen 5 and Kel-Tec CP33). However, if I were to buy one more within the next 10 years, THIS would be it.

For protection, what would be better, the speed of a 5.7 with a v max bullet or a 10mm? I doubt the 5.7 could take a bear, but I’m just interested.

They had some issues handling hotter loads. For example the Underwood cast 200 and 220 grains. I changed the rod spring to 22 lb. No more issues. Looks nice and feels good, but I want something reliable!

I can't think of why S&W did not extend the guide rails on the M&P2.0 10mm/45 size guns. The M&P2.0 9mm & 40SW received the longer guide rails on it's locking block when it was upgraded. Do you know why the 10mm locking block guide rails are less than half the size of the other 2.0 models?

Be good to have a 10mm for spending time in the Idaho back country as I enjoy very much to do. Currently I carry my Glock 17 and Ruger PCC so the mags can be compatible and I'm not carrying a bunch of extra weight with different calibers and such. 9mm is more of a symbolic fight to the finish gesture than it is a real fight if you're dealing with a bear or a wound up mountain lion but better than nothing I guess. The sound will allow others to easily find my corpse, so I would have that going for me. What would be really cool is if S&W would make their foldable PCC thing in 10mm, just a thought. That would be a nice backpack/holster wilderness combo.

I've seen a few other people reviewing this particular pistol and they all had problems with Fiocci ammunition. Maybe a bad batch?

I am in the market for a 10mm now and it's between this SW and the XDM Elite Full size. Chuke just posted a review about all the failures he and others are experiencing with the SW. Leaning +XDM so far.

I'm a solid S&W guy. The only revolvers I carried on duty (27's, 28's, 57's & 58's), but I am sold on my XDm Elite in 10mm. I held both and actually preferred the XDm over the Smith.

How long is the recoil spring assembly (RSA) on this new 5.6" pistol? It's 3.55" long in the S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol. Thank you. Good things! 👍

I would love to see a slomo from above the ports when bullet passes by. I'm curious to know if the ports in the barrel and slide are aligned when the bullet exits. Kinda ignorant on this but does the bullet fully exit before the slide begins rearward motion? I guess what im askin is where are the slide ports in relation to the barrel ports when the bullet passes by.

Just a bit undersprung. Add a 22lbs recoil spring and it's perfect!

I like it because of the frame safety.

The heft of the Kimber Black Ice Rapide in 10mm makes it so much faster getting back on target for successive shots. It's the best shooting 10mm IMO.

Good video. I want to like it but that trigger looks horrible to me, plus multiple malfunctions.

Damn this gun is so dang sweet. If I ever get a 10mm (I Don’t Count my 6” 10mm BOND ARMS Derringer) then this is it! I thought my first 10mm would surely be a P220 DA/SA Legion. But no more! Then again if I buy the Legion it would most definitely hold its value more. Yes I know they’re tools and I do use them but still nice how the Sig Classics hold their value. Anyway! I’m having so much fun with 357 Sig, who knows when I’ll dive deeper into 10mm. If you actually read all my rambling give THIS VIDEO a LIKE and possibly a SUBSCRIBE. Take it from me this guy is among the very best!
