I was that type of person. I was like, if I buy a civic it has to be the 2.0 sport cause it will be reliable and enough for me. Then I got an Si and man, I love boosted Honda engines. They have the torque to get you to the speed you want to be at effortlessly and the efficiency if you baby it and shift early and cruise.
They are built similar to the hybird cars. They use the same engine as the hybrid and now whenever you come to a stop the engine shuts off saving gas. The hybrid has the advantage of starting off with electric power.
Enjoy the content, can't wait to see more videos about the civic. The best I've gotten out of my civic with the 1.5, was 53, All highway, and got about 520 to the tank with roughly 20-30 miles left according to the computer. I eager to reach the mileage that you've put on.
Excellent! I'm shocked the MPG got up to 53. I also get 520 - 530 to the tank with s total of 550 miles. Amazing how accurate it is. Thanks for watching! 😁. You have manual or auto?
@@Imleocalm I have the CVT, if I had the opportunity to wait just a bit longer, I would have gotten the 6 speed. If I decide to trade the 10th gen in for the 11th gen, I'd definitely be getting the 6 speed.
I honestly don’t know how much my Accord gets per gallon, maybe because I’m hardly ever at the gas station (at least in my Honda, my G70 is a different story). My Accord is my second car anyway. I can't wait for the G70 video. 😀
Haha...you’re lucky enough to live in an area where the backroads have few stop signs or traffic lights. And you drive mostly highway. Try living where I live in Yonkers, NY, also knowns as “the city of hills”. Yonkers rivals the steep hills of San Francisco. The population of the county (that includes Yonkers) is larger than some states with over 750,000 residents. Still, I drive my 2018 Civic very efficiently and I get an average of 33.8 mpg (combined city/highway) driving about 60% highway. But that 40% has to navigate through hills, residential speed bumps, stop signs or traffic lights every block, pedestrians, and congestion. With all that, I’m ecstatic with my Civic’s fuel efficiency.
yo, people do not appreciate following distances in town driving. you learn how the lights change on your daily commute and can think ahead and learn when to speed up and what not. imo generally you want like 5x the following distance most people do. youll be saving ur brakes, especially down hill since you get the extra braking of not following too close. and u also save ur transimission not tryina pass people. where i live u get ice and sometimes you cant see it so driving that way as a rule youre much less likely to slide into someone coz u hit black ice. the only place this dont make sense is on the hwy but if youre gunna draft pick the biggest longest truck and dont be an ass to truckers... otherwise the distance is helpful for not running over random stuff that comes out of nowhere
@@Imleocalm the 1.0 engine has 129hp, the 1.5 roughly 190. what are you referring to with 240hp?? these two cars come with 1.0 and 1.5l engines or at least where im at.. so you think less than 240hp is inconvenient? that ridiculous
Hmm... Maybe not. Show me a 2.0 with 600k miles or more though. Although I believe it gets there. I have the maintenance and repair records for my 1.5T. Thanks for watching! 😁
@@Imleocalmthe maintenance advantage the 2.0 has over the 1.5 is you have more parts that can potentially fail like (high pressure fuel pump, spark plugs, turbo) it’s a known fact that the cylinder injection isn’t as good as the port injection. Look at used civics to buy and you’ll see all 1.5 engines.
@Imleocalm Its called stroke loss. Not traffic, but 06+Civic has a sytem for traffic and our cars switch between cams so there isn't any throttle loss. It will go from 1.8L to 1.5L and in ivtec 2.0 sports mode. Its the first smart engine . And the torqueness is from the manifold. It switches between long tubes and short tubes and give it excellent gas mileage in traffic. Especially the stick shift. As you can coast in neutral without loss of gas mileage. Its called pumping loss. Mine gets 53.3333 on the highway and 42 city. When its in 1.5L mode. And like 25 anything after 4.5 grand. They valve system kicks in early on and is stronger Than the vtec system... And make sure your front brake pads float in the brackets..not click in ..
