1:40 Causes of chest pain that are not the heart
7:02 Check out my video on abdominal pain!
If you experience chest pain, your first thought might be your heart. But, only 31% of chest pain cases have a connection to the heart. Even if it is related to the heart, it doesn’t mean it’s a heart attack.
There are a lot of different organs right under the chest cavity. A problem with one of these organs can often lead to chest pain. 42% of people with chest pain have a symptom related to their digestion-not the heart.
It’s good to ask yourself what happened just before you started experiencing chest pain. Maybe you ate something you shouldn’t have, or you’ve been under a lot of stress. This could help you narrow down the cause.
Chest pain causes that aren’t the heart:
1. GERD
2. The gallbladder/bile sludge
3. Costochondritis
4. Stress/panic attacks/broken heart syndrome
5. Pulmonary embolism
6. Pneumothorax
7. Aortic dissection
8. Pneumonia
9. Asthma
10. Shingles
11. Pericarditis

I kept having heart pain, palpitations, sweating etc… The Doctors said all test returned normal. Well, something told me to take iron & magnesium. I also stop eating gluten. Can you believe all heart issues VANISHED… I still get a few palpitations every so often. I also lost my Dad recently so my heart is healing from a few things. Once my gut is completely healed, I think it will go away forever.

For someone that has had a heart attack you will never imagine the comfort this information gave. Only those that have had one can know the fear when you feel uneasy and think it's your heart but as you said and I already knew there is a silence to having one but there still is always a fear left after the experience and all the other things you named are never thought about. Such an eye opener, so thank you so much for talking on this subject and giving the information, it truly helped me today.

Thank you for posting this! I have a congenital heart defect that has lead to 7 stents, 21 heart caths, double bypass, sternum infection and many other issues. Every time I had/have chest pain, off to the ER! 99% of the time, it wasn't cardiac related. Turns out, I had an esophageal blockage, which required surgery, and was experiencing esophageal spasms. If you've never had an esophageal spasm, thank the stars!! The pain will bring you to your knees and the symptoms mimic a heart attack. I also had a PE a few years ago, and was diagnosed with GERD. SO, I've learned to listen to my body. When in doubt, of course have it checked out, but most chest pain isn't cardiac at all!!

In another video, you mentioned that a simple way to increase bile salts is dandelions. After that, I picked leaves and added them to a salad. I tried a leaf directly and barely noticed the bitterness. So I determined that I would not need to add them to a salad. Later, I decided to pick one of the flowers and just eat it, shortly before going for a meal. I normally suffer from constipation. That one flower opened things up, about 2 to 3 hours later. It was beyond belief. I hesitated to do it again, wondering if maybe it could have been something else, like illness. But a few weeks later, I did it again, with the same result. Finally, I know how to get quick relief from constipation. BTW, I've never had a laxative. But from what I've heard, the effect is the same but much stronger.

Thank you Dr Berg 🙏 for speaking on costochondritis! I ended up at hospital one night a few years ago, thinking it was a heart attack. Several months later, sudden issues with my gallbladder, to the point where I could barely eat protein without feeling sick. A million tests later, no gallstones, no real explanation from any specialists, no reasons really for anything and all I can say is that this all coincided with the beginning of my perimenopause. I now have supplements such as your Gallbladder formula, and I can finally feel like a normal person, but thank you for actually talking about this very condition, because not many people know much about it. 🇦🇺

I’ve had this arcing pain on my left side above the nipple for many years. The latest diagnosis was cartilage stress between the ribs. It occurs quite often and seems to go away with massage. I’ve had these cartilage or ligament stress problems especially in my ankles that feels and acts like a sprained ankle. I’m a basketball official and the limping goes away if I just keep running it off after 5 minutes of extreme pain. I believe most of my chest pain is related to diet and digestion. This video and the next one have been enlightening to me as possible solutions that none of my doctors have been able to explain. My heart is strong and I’m in great shape. My heart has been ruled out. Much of the pain seems related to gas pains and acid reflux. I was wondering if a liver or pancreatic cleanse would help. I’m taking those pills now. Thanks for ALL your great videos. 🙏

Thank you for this video!! A couple of weeks ago I was feeling fine when I was at work and then all of a sudden I got this weird chest pain and could barely breathe and I thought I was dying. Dealt with it all night and finally went to the urgent care and the doctor there told me I could be having a heart attack and to go to the hospital. I’m 38!!! They ran blood and urine tests, x-rays and was hooked up to the ekg machine. Nada. Came back 4 days later bc I was still dealing with everything and they did all the above again but also a cat scan and gave me fluids. I started to feel fine after that but still every test came back normal. I started to think back to the day when all this happened. I was stressing out over how I have to begin life over again bc my fiancé broke up with me a couple months ago. I’m just now able to move out and packing by myself was bringing me down. But then the guy who raped me in 2004 died that day and I think EVERYTHING hit me like a Mack truck. My ex knew what this guy did (I barely told anyone) but I couldn’t talk to my ex bc he just doesn’t care anymore. After watching this video I’ve concluded that the “broken heart syndrome” fits me perfectly. I thought thats what it was during my 2nd hospital trip but this just confirms it. I hope I can get over it all bc sometimes the pain is unbearable

I have an LBBB so I get really paranoid when I have chest pain...but I have some knots in my back that cause tightness which causes the cartilage around my sternum to pull a bit and then recently I changed my diet a lot and have some acid reflux. Whenever I feel something I just see if exercise can take my mind off it and when that works I know it's nothing serious. My heart rate will drop over 50 bpm in less than a minute after exercising, so surely my heart can't be too bad.

Hey Doc, you left out esophageal spasms. I get them from time to time. They come at random. I went to the Hospital a couple of times thinking it was heart related. I can feel it coming on and it seems to be the spinster muscle at the lower end of the esophagus. I can now tell what's going on and I have learned to make the pain go away by "resetting" the muscle. The pain can otherwise go on for minutes. I reset the spinster muscle by swallowing something. Liquid doesn't work it has to be something that need to be chewed. Usually the first swallow does it and you can feel the muscle relax and the pain goes away.

I remember one time I had kinda extreme chest pain probably caused by an unfortunate combination of drinking and sudden laughing… the intensive pain was (if I remember correctly) more or in the chest center. I had short breathing and if I tried taking a deeper breath the already moderate pain intensifies extremely and breathing out loosened it… All in all, after a few minutes the whole pain disappeared on it’s own… Till today I don’t know what that was.

This is the kind of guidance I needed! I have been presenting almost daily chest pain on the left side since April 2021, all around my chest, up to my left shoulder and sometimes behind my arm on the armpit area. Electrocardiograms, x-rays, breast ultrasound, all appeared well and docs in my city can't seem to find anything wrong. I got covid three times and they told me maybe it's the virus aftermath but no-one has ever tell me why exactly the pain appears. I was scared it was something heart or lungs related and didn't know which specialist I should go to but I had no idea it could be due to digestive system issues! My mom is celiac and has a ton of other digestive problems, at last now I know which direction to start looking for a diagnosis, hopefully! Thank you so much! I love your videos, they are easy to understand and very educational 🥰

@@wattsobx Make sure to obtain and read the reports on all the scans/tests performed. I was hospitalized for COVID 7 days just oxygen and meds. I had my discharge papers and saw I had a hiatal hernia which I was told. I read the notes but didn’t read them. Well 2 years later having breathlessness and chest pinches here and there and some minor pain in armpit area. I went to ER for this. I received discharge notes and was told nothing on the EKG or chest X-ray but the ultrasound picked up mild gallbladder sludge. So recently I decided to read over my hospitalization notes from 2021 and saw where it was noted I have small Cardiomegaly. Had to look it up (enlarged heart). Then decided to request notes from ER visit to see because I saw some repeat information on my take home ER notes from my hospitalization and wanted to see if there was a more detailed summary. Well there it was again and the Dr in ER never told me anything as well as “fatty liver “ notation. It’s just all unbelievable. I had to go to the EE twice when I had Covid. Was told my oxygenation (while resting) was fine sent me home with antibiotics and 5-day steroid treatment. After the 5 days I wasn’t better. The PA on duty said she walks all of her patients and sure enough when she did my O2 levels started to drop.

My chest pains stopped after I watched your lard video. I used to use massive amounts of peanut oil in my food and it was causing me not only chest pains but I felt like I had pain in my leg veins and arm veins and abdomen. I felt like my heart was having trouble pumping that sludge through my veins. It was counterintuitive for me because everyone knows lard is terrible for you and vegetable oil is the best! Or so i thought. Then I switched to lard and all of the pain went away. I couldn't figure out why my heart was having trouble because I am in reasonably good shape... I exercise and eat well. Hi Dr. Berg. I infrequently have chest pain on my right side of my chest yet I can't tell if it's coming from my nipple area indicating it could be breast cancer, a cyst, or inflamed lymph nodes, or under my ribs coming form my lung area. I'm a male and It's a throbbing pain which happens in "waves" and between 1-10 it's pain level often varies from around a level 2 to a level 9. Sometimes I think it's related to what I eat, then other times, no. Often times it's very dull and almost not noticeable unless I sit real still and then sometimes it prevents me from wanting to leave my room. I do have a lump in that area which I had a mammogram and ultrasound for in 2019, and after that appointment I received a letter in the mail telling me only that it was determined to be benign. I'm in the process of getting an appointment to get it rechecked again and possibly have it removed. I'm hoping it's a liquid filled cyst and just needs to be drained with a needle as I've read about online, and maybe that will make the pain go away. I've had the mass under my right nipple since I was about 15(now 38) and although it isn't that much bigger it has slowly grown from about the size of a small grape to the size of a grape tomato. It is a little hard to tell though since I think I also have gynomastia. I have a little bit of the same thing on my left side but there has never been any pain in that area. But again, I'm not sure if the pain is emanating from above or beneath the ribcage, so I often wonder if it's lung related like a Pulmonary Embolism. I was told no at the ER after they did a blood test and chest X-ray. I have Afib and high blood pressure which I take medication for. I went to the ER for pain and shortness of breathe in March but they told me my lungs and heart were fine and prescribed an inhaler for asthma, even though one of the doctors specifically told me it wasn't asthma.

After the being ill with the "v" I suffered with costochrondrtist..that went on for many many months going to the er at least 4 times in a short period for unbearable chest pains ...It has subsided for the majority of the time .. except if I happen to do heavy arm excercises or lifting it will flare up to the point that it feels like heart issues again.

Dr Berg I think you saved my life. I was in so much pain . My nerves were all out of wack. I had chest pain , dirreah. Went to the ER they said everything is fine then I watched your video about B1 B6 and B12 for nerve health and now my nerves are back to normal but I was still having chest pain and shortness of breath and I watched this video so I took your gallbladder formula plus other supplements and I feel so much better 😭😭😭

I’m a 56 yo male and had persistent sternum pains for over a month. My doc thought it was heart. After a stress echo cardio test - all good, and a calcium coronary ct, no calcium at all. Mine turned out to be asthma, on certitude puffer twice per day and after a week all good now.

My first Covid shot aggravated my Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis, which had been in remission for 10 years, medication free. I had done this with diet change but it's not holding up so well right now. Well, with the other complications (heart) with the shot had me a little freaked out because my arthritis is hitting me in the chest wall. I have had Costochondritis when I had my first child and I am pretty sure it's the same. I will pick up some bile salts...I would love some immediate relief!
