Mike do a video on burpees and navy seals please I was in prison and that's all I did all day and now I'm out and that's all I still do but it hurts my elbows so bad idk if it's from the burpees but I'd love for you to do a video on it. love your vids man And a detailed video on how to take clenbuterol like how much to take on 1 dose. I know how much to take daily but idk how much to take at one time I've heard 25Mcg at a time but I was taking 40-80 at one time then maybe sometimes a another 25 later on... And anavar is giving me gyno I think if u can do a video explaining that it's rare but it does cause gyno....
This is exactly what I needed. Those were 15lb dbs and had a yoked Chris struggling. I'm 44 and sick of trying to go heavy just to end up pulling something because I didn't warm up well enough or couldn't keep my form perfect. Thanks gents.
I'm no expert by any means but imo that's probably the best advice for anyone. Forget ego lifting use ANY weight that's challenging to get 10 reps with perfect strict form no matter how light it may seem
I’m in the process of moulding a body that was once bmi of 52% and is now 34%. I’m enjoying the journey and now with incorporating weights I’m starting to see changes other than just weight loss. Watching these videos is teaching me so much and I’m so thankful I found @renaissance periodization as I want to learn the best and correct ways to move forward. I know how I will one day look. I have dreamt of this version of myself and I don’t care how long it takes.
Back to back DB videos have been awesome. My local gym doesn't have any free barbell/higher tier machines and only a couple smith machines so getting to see these coaching tips for things I can actually add for change of pace while still getting quality work has been huge. Love this series.
Dr. Mike, I’m 67, been working out for about 52 years, I’ve never felt that I’m getting more out of my training, using less weights in my life. Thanks!
This is how the at-home workout programs that began my lifting career like P90x and Body Beast are designed, circuit style supersets with lower rest. Would love to see Dr. Mike do some analysis and critique of those classics!! I personally found them great for getting some of the benefits of cardio and resistance training in a shorter time but not great for maximizing the results from either goal individually. I did them for years but found it wasn't producing much muscle growth for me (Body Beast was probably the best if I had to choose one). Once I slowed the pace down and rested more between sets to focus on making each set maximally effective I started seeing better hypertrophy results. Does require a larger time commitment though.
There are things you can do to save time such as superset chest & back but ultimately you will be sacrificing a small amount of muscle gain. This is no big deal for 90% of people but it could be the difference between you taking 3rd vs 1st place at a bodybuilding show. There are also time saving intensity techniques like MYO reps for smaller muscle groups like arms and delts. Mike has talked about this a lot if you really get deep into some of the old webinars and revive stronger podcasts
Blows my mind how hard you can cook your muscles while using low weights with a few adjustments to your form, the Victorian elbow slut technique really helped me with my biceps. Cheers RP.
Pretty brutal though. It's like instead of walking, just run type of thing. If you can manage to do all this with Chest or Back expect pain since my experience it's like doing Calves, Erectors and Abs at the same day and yes it's fun if you make it that is which is always a welcome challenge.
Dr. Mike and butlers please put out more content like this, I tried this workout myself and I am sore like never before and I need more. I did a hell of a lot more then 15 minutes but still I miss this feeling, it's like I'm a noobie again.
i was watching one of your reels about calves muscle training, to go up and down and stay in the stretch. Its SO GOOD! I feel it after the training every time. Love you for that one tip
Did it with 10s, had to add some reps here and there but overall was a killer workout! I thought i knew these moves well but all of the cues really helped to make the muscles burn by the end, especially that full range of motion on the curls by way of holding out the elbows. Working up to 15lbs is my defifnite goal for the next few months!
So I did these with 4lbs/2kg weights to get the form and feel....and let me tell y'all this. 1. Each set took me 10-14 mins. 2. These targets your mid to lower traps, lats, delts, arms, wrists, thighs, teeth, thoughts...defuq. 3. My weakest set was the 2nd, strongest was the 4th. Idk why but fuq it, I made it to do all four. 4. Idk how to explain how this superset wkout makes you simultaneously feel accomplished and astounded. ✌
@@charleswhitefullbusteruchi1972 I know a lot of folks who uses test (myself included) and you would never guess they were on it. Why should he not be using? Shits cheap, legal, easily available and helps you with your training. You still need to eat as a hippo and train as a gorilla to get them gains. This guy is just clearly not used to working out hard and who knows about his diet? Theres a lot of factors playing in here.
@@peterchristensen6820 this guy is very used to working out hard and takes care of his diet. ive been following his channel since 2019, i believe him enough to take his word for it. even if he isn't, aight, still makes quality content, cba.
I tried this today & OMG never felt a pump like this. even though it's lighter weights than I usually use I couldn't even reach the recommended numbers in each set before failure. Gonna keep doing it as I find it way better than the machines & can easily do at home.
Thanks for suffering for us. Highly motivating to see that we're all the same at the last rep; angry, frustrated, exhausted, unable to do as much as flip someone off even if our life depended on it.
FINALLY!! A work out where you don’t pause at the top. This is my game!!!😂😂😂 Edit: I figured out about a year ago that holding my arms out in front of me like I’m doing a preacher curl without the pad really isolated my biceps and gave me a crazy pump. I’m glad to see I was right! All I was doing was trying to do what Mentzer said in “making the weight as heavy as possible in the hand.”
I have watched a lot of Dr mike recently this was one of my favorites I love eat hibg the actual training. Plus the bit about a busy life with family is my scenario. Would love more content on splits for dads. Upper lower, push pull, total body, what’s the best approach for different scenarios?
We will see today i will try :) for me RP is the best channel Dr Mike great job and Chris yours interviews wow amazing . Sorry for mistake its not my first language :)
Loving this trend of you guys having an interview with one person on their channel but then taking them through a workout on yours. Adam Ragusea (idk how to spell), Doctor Mike, and now Chris are my favorites 🥳
Im gonna try this. 15-20 lbs dumbbells just seems so light im used to doing 30 lbs. But the slow controlled motion adds so much to it that it might just work. Im gonna try to work out my arms more. My arms themselves are pretty decent but id like my shoulders to be a little bigger. I'll give this workout a shot and try to hit it at least 4 times a week. Only thing is i go to a public gym and i dont want to hog 2 different sets of dumbells. I consider that rude. So ill try it with just all 20s, or maybe humble myself to 15s lol. I'll give it a go and see if i make improvements. I'm also gonna lower all my weight in general and apply this method. Especially squats. Right now i do 225 lb squats 10 rep 3 sets, but i dont do full range of motion. I feel awkward stability going down all the way i do like half squats but i know if i lower the weight i could do it full so ill try just one plate each side, slow go down all the way, and explode up. This might be the key too getting a more thorough workout. You cant learn to ride a bike until you ride it lol so ill just suck it up and learn the stability going down all the way. I dont like to think of myself as an ego lifter, just a guy trying to lift the most i can to get the most gains but if im not doing full range of motion, ESPECIALLY the lengthened portion which would be the deep point of the squat, im only robbing myself. Thank you so much for putting this content out Dr. Mike you are currently my favorite when it comes to gym advice. You seem to know what youre doing lol
Just tried this tonight, incredibly sore biceps, but sort of mediocre bicep pump. Rear delts are blasted tho holy. I really recommend this, it’s fast and pushes you with small weights (despite my lackluster biceps pump) will defzo loop back to this regularly
This is great! What's the music you often play when the workouts get serious? I think I could watch these and then listen to that whilst working out to get some extra mindset boost :-). Found the music! It's "My Lord" by Yarin Primak.
I'm gonna try that "breaking toward the hip" tip for skullcrushers because I love the exercise but my elbows really don't like it so I haven't been doing them.
Exactly, the basics are typically the gold standard for a reason. My arms blew up when I stopped trying to stuff in a million different curl and pushdown variations and just focused on quality of the movement of a few of them.
Hey Mike just got back inti training after a lot of year and I'm learning shit loads from your video. Being ex-army it's good seeing the humour I'd get fired for at work 😅. I'm training for a spartan race with my teenager in a year. I've seen you talk about training for strength like power lifting vs aesthetics. Do you have any of your videos you'd recommend for fitness like that. An example I've seen you comment that actors are training to look like superheros not be them. Hope I'm making sense.
