You put a hole in your garage door.... Reminds me of the story that went round my school when I was in my early teens, which was an awful long time ago! Two of the older boys, by older we are talking about 16, made their own cross bow. Used at least part of a leaf spring from a car... Too strong to comfortably fire standing up. That should have been a warning right there, but, teenagers.... They fired it at the garage door from outside. Wooden door, went right through it. Then through the front windscreen of Dads car. Through the back window of the car and exited through the back wall of the garage. Dad was reported as being very unhappy.
It's very smart to keep a fire extinguisher in the vehicle! I remember years ago there was a semi driver that was between Merritt & Kamloops B.C he hit a rock cut and crushed and pinned his legs in the cab then a fire started, what i heard is they could have put it out if a passerby would have had an extinguisher but everyone that stoped to help had nothing to put it out and as a result the poor fellow burned up in the truck! Because of this i always carry at least one extinguisher in my pickup!
Very smart thing to carry. I have a similar story that happened many years ago here in NZ. Relatively small crash of a car into a motorway barrier. Young woman trapped, fire started and she was screaming for help. Off duty policeman tried and failed to save her. He did spend months dealing with the burns to his hands, so now I carry an extinguisher in every vehicle.
I had an old Datsun pick up many years ago. Owed it twice. Until the cab mounts finally rotted away and the cab sunk over the frame. Have fun with the crossbow. Have a good one✌️
Nice! I've nearly bought a crossbow so many times. I've got a KAP Olympic takedown bow and a Canadian recurve one piece bow hand made by a guy in Canada called Jim Dunlop I think. It's about 50 years old I think, it was my grandfather's and was passed to me when he passed away.
I've always wanted one and figured I'd get a cheap one to try out. I had a compound bow at one time but hardly ever shot it. It was too hard for my weak arms and would wear me out after a few shots.
@@BruceLyeg My Olympic view is 46lbs. Pull that for a few rounds of you aren't used to it and your arms will fall off. My eldest son couldn't draw it when he was younger. I'd probably have to use the 36lb limbs first now because I haven't shot for a while and work back up to the 46 ones.
Thanks Myr. It definitely can be dangerous. I'm very careful with firearms and will be very careful with this too. Yes, I gotta fix the door before my wife sees it!
Sweet video 📹 You did a great job and I like the improvised string tool 😊 I'm planning on the short stock model sooo I guess I will get some gorilla duck tape a affix the ratchet strap to the pistol grip 😂😂 Thanks for the Video!!
Awesome Bruce《☆》Down here the law allows bow & crossbow hunters a head start on game every year👍🏾 I guess the laws are similar in your neck of the woods. Happy archering & Greetings from🌐Florida🤳my friend🤓🗣🔊☮✌👍🏾
Wow, I saw a Vintage Datsun actually pass me on the highway 2 years ago, I was shocked ! I think the funnel could be used as a Pinocchio Surgical Mask in an emergency... The resurgence of Crossbows is the reason Dragons are extinct, Bruce ..True Story, hehe..Be safe, glad your mother is well...
_I totally agree with a fire extinguisher in the car. This one time a guy tried to pull me out of my car to steal it. I grabbed my trusty fire extinguisher and cracked him square on the face with it. Saved my life_
Careful with that crossbow you crazy man! 👍😂😂 I keep a fire extinguisher in my cars too! I've never had a fire but I did pull an elderly gentleman out of his car once. He was sitting in his car on the hard shoulder, I saw flames under his car so I pulled over, convinced him to get out. He kept going back to his car to try to get his possessions out! I was on my way to a black tie event so I was in an evening dress, struggling with trying to get him away from his car and trying to call 911 🙄 The car suddenly burst into flames and he burst into tears 😔 It was beyond help by the time the fire brigade showed up.
It's amazing how fast a car can go up in flames. I stopped for gas once on vacation and saw a limo pull over across the street. I watched the guy get out and open the hood. Smoke was pouring out and within about 5 minutes the whole thing was in flames. Look at you being a hero! A well dressed hero even!
Yeah it's scary! This car had no smoke. Just a little flame under his car that you'd barely notice. He probably thought he just broke down? I'm no hero, anyone would/should do the same! I was just passing at the right time 👍
I have a fire extinguisher in both of my cars and 3 through out my house. I always give them as house warming gifts to friends and family. I bring my power drill and install it where they want it.
this one really does not need a cocking rope... unless someone is very weak..its very easy to pull perfectly even just with your hands... i have this same unit for around 10 years...great or target shooting...very accurate and consistent..I wish i new its fps use those alumium bolts with field tips though... my guess is 180-200 fps...
That's good, I'm not the only one foolish enough to underestimate the power of a 150lb crossbow? I'm not really a hunter and there aren't any moose in my neighborhood. I better get or build a proper target.
Ya, it was cheap enough that I didn't have much to lose if I didn't like it. I'm gonna have to buy or build a proper target. I gotta fix the door before my wife sees it!
Your gonna want to use rail lube on the bow itself. And use a tape measure to center the limb as the lines aren't perfect. Get some cheap carbon arrows and your good. I put a cheap dovetail to weaver rail adapter on mine and put a red dot on it and its a perfect 20 yard tree stand or small game bow. Great for grouse with judo points oh yeah dont leave it strung for too long
