You changed your hair, you go out with our friends, hell you humiliated me cause now everyone is against me, all those times I was so patient with you, protected you from touchy guys..I went through depression this summer and you left me. You said I played the victim and yet you overcompensate over social media about how happy your life is, when school comes back you’ll realize YOU lost me not the other way around. Go ahead, live this happiness you have chosen..when you feel left out and the group forgets about you, you’ll think about me and I won’t be there. You said we would grow old together, but only one of us had the willingness to do the work to get there. When I’ve risen higher than I’ve ever been you won’t be able to jump and reach a heart that’s too high for you to feel. I stay strong during no contact, silently shedding a tear of your memory but this is how it has to be because you chose this. I hope you can live with your choice because you lost, according to you, “the greatest and most caring guy” you’ll ever meet.
Hi Rory, It sounds nice to hear this hopeful video, but since I am going into month 7 and still no reaching out from him, this kinda sucks. He got spooked about our future together (kids etc.) since him childhood was full of trauma and he is workoholic so I think he distracts himself with work. But at this point my heart still hurts and at least I am moving forward with my life. Working on my emotional health and focusing on myself. I am letting him go. I see no point in forcing someone into something they don't want. To all people in no contact: Be brave and strong, it gets better with time with occasional downfall. I feel your pain. Sending love.
It's great to know that there's other people out there going through the same thing. I'm also is NC and as time moves on I feel more proud of myself for being that strong. I never thought I could do it but I have and it's a new found strength in myself. You'll feel the same way I'm sure. Stay strong and work on yourself because you are totally worth it. Never forget that.
Amen Rory great advice...we can't put our ex's on a pedestal - i many cases they are just as broken up as we are even if they were the ones who terminated the relationship. They probably also need to learn and grow and our affection was a cushion for them to escape the realities of who they actually were and we were used as an excuse in some cases for their unhappiness.
Dreads And Angels absolutely true , my ex recently started emailing me video of our happy times then pictures after he discarded me for his ex , I moved on begin to travel and just love my life happy , 8 months later he’s reaching out ! Our break up was bad so I’m surprised he’s very prideful so for him to let his guard down ! I’m shocked ! But my emotions are not the same ! So yes they do come back when you least expect it 👌🏽
Its Always when u dont want Anymore.. or when they already been with somone else. Also, I broke up with my previous BF and I never contacted him after that. It's been 5 years (4,5yrs of relationship). What pushed me over the edge was the unhappiness for the last 3 years in the relationship and that he was so not growup adult. I broke up with him and he behaved horrible. He emotionally blackmailed me, yelling at me, ignoring me and then bargaining. I was also sad that I am hurting him with this breakup but my mind was set that i am not happy with him. After that I told him that I was still hoping that one day we would reconnect in more adult phase but he destroyed that hope with all the hate he threw at me. Then he blocked me on all social media (still blocked). And when I started to think i might be able to contact him, i remembered all the hate and was scared of it. I wanted to share my experience as a dumper. Now as a dumpee, I have both experiences.

@@orevel it's hard to say that I would want to go back to him. But at least I wanted to contact him to see how he is and maybe to see that he grow up and appreciated me more. But his behavior disgusted me deeply on how he tried to manipulate me back into the relationship. And that got me scared of him. At that point I wanted freedom and acceptance and agreement from his side. To get space and refocus.
@@moscopol8231 I was devastated for almost a year from the relationship and breakup. But I am deeply emotional person. In my case I think I wanted to reach out after that year. Once my heart stopped hurting. Or started to feel again. But when I found out that I am still blocked, I got over it. It seemed that I hurt him so much, that he still didn't want to talk to me. So if you blocked your ex or tried to manipulate them, give them whatever time they need. Sometimes over a year or more. If the wounds are really deep. Sending strength. You can do this. I am going through my own NC so I feel your pain. I'm in month 7. Still nothing.
My ex broke up with me June and she reached out 5x since. I eventually asked what she really wants and if the last time she called was for closure. She responded "No, not closure closure & in regards to a relationship, I'm just doing me right now. Focusing on me but what do you want?" Bruh! Make it make sense. Smdh
I really love your advices. So far you’re the best relationship coach. You always provide both positive and negative possibilities that could happen in a relationship. Unlike other coaches that would give you false hopes for reconciliation or to have your ex back. My ex and I broke up 6 weeks ago. And I would say that healing is messy, one day you’re okay, one day you’re not. Healing has no timeline.
Sometimes I listen to this and I feel like there's hope, and then when I remember what my ex said to me and I feel like there's no more hope he'll come back.

After small talk I went NC it has been 1 month & I feel empowered for some reason. When you are dumped for real your ex won’t return at all that is an ex 100% certain of their decision.... bear this in mind as hard as it may seem x
I don't think anyone is ever a 100% certain about his or her break up. Regardless, it's healthier to not expect anything from an ex and quickly move on by improving oneself and dating other people.

I love that you talk about the Dumper being miserable! I'm so glad he is gone! He did me the biggest favor by breaking up with me....although at the time it was a freakish nightmare to be without him! Looking back after a year, he was soooooo selfish! He seemed like a really great guy, but he wasnt. He never made me a priority, ever! 50% of the time he cancel our dates because he was too tired, or had to help someone move, or his sister is making dinner, his brother wanted to talk to him, blah blah, blah..... He never made an effort for me. But he made me a ton of promises! And all the promises he never kept! It seems like he was trying to keep my interest so i wouldnt be available for anyone else. He only wanted to do his priorities. He didnt ever try to work on our relationship. Boy, was i the biggest dummy on the planet or what?! But he seemed like a really great guy! A really great catch But heaven forbid if you accidentally say the wrong thing, then he would disappear for weeks & months at a time. We never argued. Never cursed And I was never a priority in his life. Still, he seemed like a great guy...... I did learn that Actions do speak louder than words
A month of NC and I have doubts she will contact me. Why? Because I think she saw the relationship as turning toxic and I was selfish and needy. It’s allowed me to grow as a person and work on self improvement. Every breakup is a lesson, so I would recommend you use it as a positive.
I contacted my ex after 4 years lol, and i have a big ass ego. But you get over shit and that mentality you have in the beginning with time. So yeah don't lose hope. This time a a girl broke up with me, and i don't know for sure if she will contact me eventually but all i can do is focus on myself and hope for the best. If it helps, think about it...I don't think it sounds realistic to think you'll never hear from or see your ex ever again. It can happen, but lets be real, I've ran into exes and people i never expected to see again dozens of times. And that's gonna be your opportunity to show off your change, and don't wait for it, it'll happen when you "least" expected. Good luck!!!
I dont know if we are getting back together, but my ex reached out after 3.5 months and I never expected it. I did send a text message few weeks before that that said that I understood why she broke up with me, looking back at how I was. Said that I would love to catch up sometimes, that I wasnt gonna try to convince her to get back together. Just that it was weird if I never heard of her anymore after spending 7 years together. So she called weeks later, hearing the doubt in her voice and being a bit shy. And she asked if I still wanted to hang out because she was free next week. She also asked ‘you arent gonna try to convince me to get back together?’. Well to me it means she wanted to reach out and I left the door open for that by sending that message. Of course she is afraid Im gonna try to convince her, so got that of the table and honestly Im not gonna to. Im just gonna show her my improved self. I dont want to convince or reason somebody in being with me. If she falls back in love with me I’ll be happy. But if she doesnt its clear to me that there isnt anything else I could have done. It might still hurt a bit, but I want somebody that loves me and if she doesnt then its fine. I can move on then knowing I did what I could and I deserve better then to stay hung up on her. If years down the road she comes back I know it isnt for me, but because things didnt plan out the way she thought. Cant be a back up or second choice. So basically Im giving it my best now and its her getting a second chance with me. If Im not good enough now, Im not gonna wait arround.

Holy crap when my ex broke up with me, I handled it and agreed then the next day she did a 180 and was freaking out that I was going and wanted to follow me back to another state back home to live with me and I was confused. I never understood it till now, thanks Rory!

I can attest to this. I've been separate from my ex for a little over a year now. She's reached multiple of times and there have been a few moments where I've told myself, "Guess that's the last time I'll hear from her". Low and behold, I'll hear from her again. Thanks for your advice Rory, my ex left me for another guy, was in a relationship two days later. We were making future plans and I thought I was going to marry her. It's hard to believe she could just monkey branch like she did but I guess part of it is her masking her feelings and pretending everything is normal with this new guy to avoid the brake up struggle.
Thanks for this Rory. Me and my ex recently attended the same festival and she asked to catch up. Everything went great, and after splitting up during the festival, we later found each other once again only this time, during the final performance, we held one another and came very close to kissing and potentially having sex as she said she was very turned on while with me. Fast forward two days later, and she's now apologised for her behaviour, saying she's sorry for leading me on but that she had a fantastic time. 'That's okay, I didn't feel led on. It's important we continue to see other people and get on with our lives". I've walked away, and continue to date. She needs to come to me if she wants me. She needs to make an effort. I'm great, I'm valuable and very soon, I'll be with someone fantastic and off the market.

Always searching for a concrete answer. This video finally gave me that answer. After two years together, I kinda put her in the friend zone, then a month after that she ghosted me. Every 3-4 weeks I would send her a text, she never read it. I even ran into her at work once. 4 months after we stopped talking I sent her a message saying i've worked on myself and would like to keep in touch. She said she doesn't keep in touch with exes and blocked me. It's been 2 months since that happened, so a total of 6 months. No breadcrumbs, she never initiated contact, I didn't get any sense that she was hot or cold. Like you said, it's upsetting to hear that. This is the pain I need to get back to reality and move on. Make a video, about " What if my ex keeps contact with my mother/relatives? " I'm trying to get over her, which I am doing great for the 1st month. Radio Silent, no social media, reading and studying a lot and hanging out with friends, but then she keeps contacting my mother... I can't block my mother. (I am not angry nor sad, I'm confused)
I'm pretty sure my ex isn't certain, she has told me as much. But I'm also pretty sure she's not coming back, because she also told me she is determined to be the strong one and not give in to temptation. She doesn't even want to come pick up her stuff at my house because "she's not feeling strong enough yet to see me" and "she can't say goodbye to me again". Ugh. So I'm left here in limbo.
Remember it takes a couple seconds for them to reach out, text, call. You could get signs that they're about to reach out for a long time ,and still ahvnt heard from them. Or you could see no signs for a period of time and then all of a sudden ,they've reached out

Mine was hot and cold at first then just cold and seemed very certain. I am now 22 days into NC and each day is just panic attacks, waking up at nights just getting hit with the pain and confusion :(. But I know from my last ex she did tell me she thought of me everyday after the break up. Also my brothers ex came back close to 3 months and said she thinks if she made the right decision every day. In both instances me nor my brother took them back the damage was done.
My ex went with a rebound then left him and reached out to me 4 months after NC. But things are not gonna work between im perfectly fine but she is mentaly unstable. anyway dont give hope but dont wait for it either, grow, become stronger, and live your life

Wow this is what happened to me. My ex dumped me after 2 years together. We were in LDR for 3 weeks before breaking up, no big fight, I didn’t see it coming, I assumed it’s GRASS IS GREENER. cause he used to trying to break with me before when he got drunk 1 year ago, saying he wants to be free, be alone. (But he apologized the next morning, and we made up) I did beg and plead but it didn’t work. Then I accepted it, and decided to walk away. The first day, he sent me a text like how we used to, asking if I’m okay and stuffs. Then he wrote me again on the 5th day and then the next 2 weeks, and the next 2 weeks. The last one seems more distant tho. I think he realize that I don’t want to talk to him, so he tried to move on (I tried to do NC) so i’m not sure what I should do. He’s seeing a girl 10 days after we split up!! (He didn’t cheat) I’m so devastated and still want to get back. Hope someone could tell me what I should do. Now I restarted NC for 4 days. It’s been 1.5 months after breaking up. Sad like rain... 😭
No Contact! Act like you don't give a shit lol. Well that you have your life to worry about, which you should mainly concentrate on. But trust me as a guy, that's probably the most effective thing to do because it hurts our ego. Your value rises in our eyes without us even realizing. And don't worry about the other girl, I can tell you from experience it doesn't help. I slept with a girl a month after my break up and felt the same about my ex so...yeah don't even worry, For the most part it's only a distraction. Good Luck!

My relationship of 7 months ended about a month ago, and I followed your advice on no contact. I recently started a new job and my ex texted me congratulating me. We have been texting for a few days, just chit chat and a bit of catching up. I kept the talks light hearted, and didn't make an effort to keep the conversation going if it died off. She's been initiating most of the texting but it's been about a week now. Should I make an effort to go back to no contact if I feel like she's texting me just to see if i'm still in back-up plan mode? I don't want her to think of me just as a friend, and the way the conversations are going I feel like things are heading in that direction. We've been talking quite frequently since the break up and I don't think there's been enough time for her to truly feel the break up. Should I tell her I don't want to settle for being friends because I think we're worth more than that, or just keep the casual conversations going?

The more I give him space the more he will not come back...the more he realize stuff...and thinks it's good for the both of us...we are on ldr so...using only one app which I feel he already deleted... I haven't heard from him since he called me over a week ago...while he said he would be there for me when he broke up with me..he was and has been breadcrumbing me...there were times he acted like his old self but can feel he's holding back...currently going through health problems and this is not the time to lie to me and make me feel he's my support system...I even feel he feels relieved and liberated...broke up with me almost three months ago...and he's already MIA for more than a week.. Video idea: What if you suddenly cane across hard times like major life changes and it was the reason for a break up? Is it better to just let go because my ex wasn't giving me the support I needed or is it my fault for looking to him too often for emotional support and stressing him when he may have had his own problems? Should there even be a chance or is the trauma to much to over come?
I am currently 2 months into NC. 3 months since she broke up with me. I have done a massive amount of work and possibly got the most productive 2 months of my life including a new exciting job lined up for October... but I cannot get her out of my head and its always resonating there. Its like a curse. I have the stupid little hope that she will reach out but im honestly skeptical. We didn't fight or argue, no cheating or non of that nonsense, we had awesome times together, and went through a lot with each other ending in the hospital at different times and taking care of each other, loss of a family member who was like my second mother, her mother losing her job, etc. However with my current job I couldn't spend much time with her. I would see her maybe twice a week and would always be traveling. I would drive 1.5hrs from work to her place to be with her for a few hrs at night (we both live with our moms so space was hard too me by). I know it was me not being there more often that made her call it quits... but Idk if all that was enough for her to doubt herself and one day reach out? We didn't end in bad terms and we both mentioned we didn't close the doors for the future. She has a normal 9-5 job and weekends off btw. We are both in our late 20s. Any comments?
