This for sure. Without insulation under the floor it definitely won't stay as warm inside and won't be nearly efficient as it could be

Chris, I'm going to speak to you the way that your brother spoke to you: If you like your life the way it is right now, and you plan to continue working the way that you're working for some time... You MUST incorporate safety into your processes, or you will end up losing a hand. I like your videos, and what you have to share with us... but watching you be so unsafe and janky with your safety makes me cringe into oblivion. I'm sure that there are much more experienced men with only one hand, or one eye, or no use of their legs who will tell you: "It only takes one time."

Great videos, an idea if you think you want insulation in the floor before last flooring sheet goes down, squeeze yourself under the void and put 100mm rock wool in between the joists use dpc across the joists with stapler to hold it up, easyish fix without taking it all up and cheap and quick compared to PIR. Only thing is the elements/rodents/vapour barrier

I work in a petrol station, it is soul destroying, I did plumbing at college but for whatever reason it's so hard as a female to get a foot in the door, I've got enough for a house deposit now though so hoping to buy a property to renovate next year and document and use that as proof I'm capable in trades.

You need to change your perspective a little. You may have received a smaller income while making the house. But having no mortgage you’re going to sort of pay your self in time to come. I’ll give you an example I have a small side hustle today I decided not to work on it normally 50 extra per day. But I fixed a window hinge, cleaned the gutters and repointed the roof if I had got someone to do it, I would have depleted my savings 600 more than the 50 I would have made today. I never saw the money but I am further forward.

I hope the plumbing and drainage are the next things on the list to get sorted. Then power, otherwise you'll be better off in a camper van whilst you get it sorted.

He said in the video before this one that he this is just sub flooring I think and he will put insulation down then tongue and groove flooring

so he's not putting down 100/150 insulation under the floor he means, the stuff under under toungue and groove isn't much insulation

@@BIGFREAKYMAN he's mentioned it's marine grade plywood. Used in boats among other things. I'm no expert so have no idea if that solves the (potential) rot/mold issues.

I have a saying to recant "work in haste repent at leisure". As a seasoned DIYer and built many building, structures furniture etc. The one point I will say is do your planning before and build it right. I feel you are rushing too much now for a deadline that if it passed by even a few months but did the job right you would never regret. You will forever more regret if you bodge it up as I feel you are doing now.

Anyone feeling lost, hear this - i quit my job in October as it was crushing me, i got a new one as a chef. Its a job ive always wanted to do as i love cooking and worked hospitality before and thought id give back of house a crack. It was aweful, couldnt hack it. I left and signed on to Universal Credit, best decision ive made. I signed up at middle of November and and just this week signed up to do a 5 weeo security course. All paid for by the government and me qualifications like first aid. Theynoffer all sorts of courses like PT, SIA, Forklift driving, childcare etc. there's no shame in looking for help in the systems your tax money pays for. Its not great money from UC but if youre smart there are temp job on weekends you can do to make ends meet. Keep youre heads up, one and all. Happy holidays

The tax payer is paying for you to complete courses that ultimately the tax payer would have to pay for if they wanted to complete themselves. You're selfishly playing the system and the attitude you currently have is what is wrong with the current generation. I really do hope that my money leads to you gaining a high paid job so you can contribute back into the system.
