I've been talking about installing the windshield frame for a while. Well it is finally time to do it. The wrapping is untraditional though, so not for purists :)

Elin, what is really great and so appreciated is your ability to address so many aspects of the Triumphs. You have background and experience in it all ! Thanks very much for your efforts

Thanks for taking the time to do it with the marine vinyl, it saved a bit of money, plus it looks great. As always you are a master at whatever you tackle. Anybody who wants to see this car when its finished is welcome to visit me in Mississauga, or at the British Car show next September. Keep crackalaking on the “customers” TR6!!

Not boring... always entertaining and informative. I hope to be going through the same steps on myTR6 later in the year, I know that I will be re-viewing most episodes of this 1970 TR6 series as they includes so many great tips and insights to the actions needed to complete a restoration. Thank you.

If you can't touch it it is too hot. Sounds right. 🙂 What a beautiful job. That the manufacturer pieced it to save material is not surprising. When you are redoing it wrapping it seamlessly makes sense, especially when you are a specialist for this kind of work, as you are. Thanks so much for letting us look over your shoulder.

Definitely not boring, Elin. I don't know why viewership would drop off after the 1st video. Each one is a step along a crash course in completed Triumph restoration! The people who stop watching the series probably have unfinished restorations in their garages! 😅

I had to change the windshield bottom trim as well as the glass surround 10 years ago, the inside part was pretty good, so I left it alone. I do not remember having any difficulty installing the gaskets, but after about 7 years, the glass surround broke at the bottom center where it is "welded" creating a small gap. The gasket you have not yet installed ends up about 6 inches below the windshield frame, almost to the door switch for interior light. Your vinyl covering looks great, I may try that when I install my frame. FYI Rimmer brothers has the re-trim kit for $111.82 plus shipping and a long wait.

Great tip on the glue. Liked the way you fixed the heat gun. By the way, that same guy left an unfinished car at my place.

Epic bit of highly skilled work we were witnessing there Elin. Thanks also for the comedy which I'm sure you need yourself when doing such a difficult and demanding job. I'm not getting bored with your series on John's TR, but ringing the changes will no doubt please many.

Nice work as always Elin and saving money to boot always a bonus! Nice to see you doing all the work for once rather than Rusty Dog who obviously exhausted and taking a nap.

Elin, You are becoming quite the entertainer! Funny bit with the "dirty" windscreen. I watched several episodes of your Spitfire restoration last night. I highly recommend them to your loyal viewers while they wait for the next episode of your current project.

I like the way that the TR6 windshield frame itself is removable, unlike mine on my Triumph Vitesse, but I'm kind of glad I don't have to bother about vinyl wrap. I would however highly recommend injecting the windshield frame with a rust preventative fluid, it's easy to do, using the sun visor holes and probes. Especially aiming for the bottom of the A post corners

Hi Elin, Great bit of upholstery work, very impressive and at last somewhere to rest your elbow for a selfie!! It would have been nice to have been introduced to the new boy in your garage who appeared at 31:35, next time maybe? Your videos boring? No absolutely not. All the best!!

I had to clean my glasses when I thought I seen 2 Elin's in the video!! LOL! Is the windshield frame going to get painted the color of the car or does it stay black? Great video!! Cheer's!
