@@ICGarchive - Oh, I have a home for an 6.9IDI - 7.3IDI. I can see swapping an IDI into a '67 - '77 F250 Highboy (in my dreams, at least til I happen to fall over backwards into a huge pile of cash, haha)

@@wes11bravo I hear ya there bud. I love them 7th gen fords. Would be even better with with an IDI in one of them. I just wanna piss off the guys that throw Cummins engines in the Fords and act like it’s the only truck that can get you across town.

@@ICGarchive - haha, roger that! People do get wound up about that, don't they? I'll keep ya posted about my epic diesel swaps - I have a bunch I'd love to try. Like a 453 Detroit in an old M37 Dodge, a 5.9 in a M715 Jeep pickup, etc. I love bulletproof old stuff that scares people away. Driving a beast like that to gauge her reaction is a good way to ensure a gal you take out on a 1st date is worth taking out on a 2nd date!

I’d definitely pull the trigger on it!!! Honestly if it has power steering it’s not too bad. Without power steering your arms with get a hell of a workout in any downtown area. I’d highly recommend rebuilding the front axle and replacing the hubs with manual lockout so you can take it out of 4x4. They are great trucks though and if you buy one I promise you will not be disappointed!!!

Also this truck and most of the full time 4x4 Dodges had 4:10 gears and these old trucks didn’t have overdrive so at 55 MPH or about 90 KMH the 318 really starts screaming put they are good gears for towing heavy loads at around 45 MPH. If it’s gonna be your daily driver though, I’d replace them with 3:73s or 3:55s.
