Ryan s absolutely bro. Going to watch the whole series eventually! Just saw the test drive pop up and knew I would get to hear it! I can't wait to get mine done!! Im so anxious to hear & drive it!!
Need some bushwacker Fenders and Callan duction hood Rohbar LED lights And a snorkel going up the side.. And some action videos you playing in the mud or climbing rocks In a better camera angle like a go pro pod Holder Would have been cooler To actually see you shifting the gears sometimes Them angles matter Love the truck keep up the good work ranger boy for life
Is that a T5 with a long ass handle or did you get the adapter ? I have a 84 4x4 with the c5 it was a 2.9 got it as a roller. Was told I could use a c4 and swap the c5 tail onto it. Any tips would be appreciated. Really wanted to do a 351 that I initially bought for my fox but I'm probably just going to throw a explorer 302 in it.
From Ryans vids, it is a full size '88 Bronco 302ci, auto trans with lokar shifter using the stock transfer case. The extra .5" of deck height of the 351 may cause you a lot of clearance issues in the Ranger engine bay. I barely clear with the 302's standard 9" deck height using hooker full length headers to my steering link. A tight fit even with the 302 using a ford econoline double hump oil pan.
Ive done the same thing on my 90 ranger tho i had some issues with the radiator and radiator fan fitting properly. Im currently using a smaller aftermarket fan but does not do the trick any tips from anyone
If you watch from the beginning of the series to the latest I show pretty much the entire process of the swap. Let me know if you have any more questions.
We used an automatic transmission out of the donor 1988 ford bronco. The lower half of the motor mounts are stock. The top are custom as seen on both our videos and the ranger station forums. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Sweet ranger is those 15x10s the rims? N what name brand is tha tires and do ya mind tells me what size lift u have and who makes it ?i have ah 87 and Getty ready to lift it and do wheels and tires wanna roll on 35s but not sure how big of lift I need to clear 35s u clearen those 33s good tho ...but sweet truck let me know ASAP buddy n thanks
M50DR2 from an f150 is perfect size. Depends on year what m5 you'll use. The top cover changes where the shifter stub goes in and where the lever pops up
@@chrisduncan2626 maybe. They're a hair stronger than a t5, and are built tougher than others.. or you could look into others. It's a tough call with our trucks since our space is limited and most manuals are for cars with a rear shifter.
It's a 2.8 thing Haha mine has to have plugs changed every 3200 miles and trust me I tried to kill it 6 months and 4 sets of plugs and never added oil thing still runs and will still burn the tires off on brake torque through 3rd it don't like not having oil but it will go
There 33x12.5's. Yea there pretty loud on the road especially with the windows down. They look great though. I forgot the brand ill get back to you on that.
I HAVE AN 83 RANGER I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A STEAL BAR ABOUT AN 1/8 INCH IN DIAMATURE THAT IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE PARKING BRAKE RELASE. IT PIVOTS UP AND DOWN[ BACK AND FORTHLIKE A HOOD REEASE LEVAR DOES . IT LOOKS FACTORY INSTALLED BUT AS FAR AS I CAN TELL IT DOESNT DO A THING.. ANY IDEAS WHAT ITS FOR OTHER THAN DRIVING A BIT MORE NUTS THA I ALREADY AM. MARTY G
Good set up I’m gonna probably make videos of my truck I got a 306 crate motor a aod trans stage one 12 point cage harness and the whole shubang the motor has 378hp 350 tq
The swap definitely wasn't easy however it can be done with time and effort. You can find a 5.0 302 efi or not for usually pretty cheap. Parts do add up though over time haha.
@@Mid-Atlantic_Outdoors because its literally been the rule for most american manufacturers that if its carburated its in cubic inches and if it fuel injected its in litres. 302 and 5.0 are the same thing, the only difference is one is fuel injected.
I just bought a 1988 Ford Ranger a couple months ago. I want to paint it the color of your 1988 Ford Ranger. Do you know what color that orange is? If you could let me know message me on Facebook please and thank you.
