This is my 1983 ford ranger xlt 4x4 with a 2.8l v6 in it. Its pretty much fully built when it comes to suspension and lift. I hope you like my truck. Please leave a like and subscribe. More videos to come!
Had a 82 f150 351w most reliable easy to work on v8 ive ever touched im getting a 89 ranger 4x4 im thinking of starting a channel up of me buying and repairing older vehicles
Looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Looks better than that silly lowering to the ground stuff along with that silly, stupid looking wagon wheel and thin tire craze going on these days. Your truck looks more serious looking and more of a mean machine to be reconded with on the streets for deep admiration, it looks that GOOD !!
I got a Ford ranger 92 4X4 but the dashboard is beautiful on this, I recently change the motor, the original had over half a millions of miles, I yes need a new exhaust system, & the paint.
I'm pretty sure it's a great. 9, and the Perkins diesel makes more torque. .. VERY nice rig though man. I love the truck.. currently building my '88 ranger 4wd. Great inspiration.
Think you could put a list together of what us all in it as far as suspension. I have the same body style but mines an 87 and I was hoping to do something like this
If you plan any low to no cost engine work polishing the upper intake and port matching the upper to lower intake makes for quicker throttle response and smoother running engine. Horsepower and torque maybe a fuzz but not negligible. A cold air intake along with port and polish will probably make horsepower and torque increase more noticable. Edit: I see ya V8 swapped it. That's a better choice than putting any money into that little V6.
I dig the Ranger. I have an 88 just like that and I'm planning a similar lift and tire set up. Did you have to re-gear with the 33s or is the 2.9 alright with them? I would love to more videos of the truck btw!
Nice man, yea I still have the 2.8 in it since its an 83. Might be swapping it with a v8 soon though. But it pushes just enough for the 33's. And yea more build videos coming soon!
I have a few questions if you don't mind. Height of coil springs? Measurement of pitarm drop bracket and also the measurement of the front lift bracket from frame to front end if you could help me out with that i have serious front end suspension issues will greatly appreciate it
Absolutely gorgeous Those blue components where did you get them? I have a 91 and wanted to do a 6 inch but can’t seem to find the rest of the parts I need
The blue components were part of a camber correction kit as well as a drop pitman arm that was required when we lifted it. I got the front coils off of rough country. The rear blocks you can get just about anywhere.
I got a 1992 v6 ford ranger custom. when u lifted your truck did you have any problems of the truck trying to go? any problems turning a day going on tight curves? any suggestions on how to lift my truck?
Stock engine pushes just enough but can use a v8. Its a little hard to turn since its got 33's mud tires. My biggest suggestion is the front axle when you lift it will need certain drop components to reduce the camber. Ill get back to you on the exact names.
May I ask were you got your lift from..I’ve been looking everywhere for mine same model but only thing is mines 2wd and I’m not sure if it’s the right thing I was hoping if you could help me out with that
I got the front lift coils from rough country. I believe they are 4 inches. The rear has blocks from I believe rough country or another lift brand. There is also a 3" body lift on it.
Not bashing the Truck cuz I love the color but is that a rattle can job? And I just bought a 1988 tan(2.9) one with only 11k miles on it and a rust free set of fenders and a box with another spare Truck, also what rims do you have on it?
Im not 100% sure if the paint job is rattle canned or not as i bought it like that. However i do know the truck was not originally that color. The rims i believe are 15x10 wheels. Forgot the brand name but you can easily find them on summit.
hello I hope and can help me I have a project for my ranger 1986 Ford would like to know if the front of the ranger 1986 can be the front of a ranger 1988 on the second front if it fits well in the lines and everything would fit well in my ranger I hope you can help me I would be very helpful thanks
Looks like your pushing to much fuel or something it black smokes on my 83 w when I first got it I put a Cherokee pump in mine and it was pushing to much fuel pressure and it was black smoking like a sob got the right fuel pump and it just smoked on start ups
