Want to have the ability to tune you're fuel injected A20a3 engine and get the most out of your build? In this video I will show you step by step how I went about converting my 1988 Accord Lxi from Obd0 to Obd1 to be able to have the options to customize and tune on programs such as Crome, Neptune, Hondata, and more. Special thanks to Shane86lxi for taking the time help me achieve this conversion as well as provide me with parts to do so. Please check out his channel and subscribe / @shane86lxi43

Thank you for keeping this knowledge alive! This gen Accord will be my first Honda ever and already there is more support than for my e28 524td!

thanks for being the only guy I've found with hands on knowledge about the 3rd gen accords, I got one as my first car and nicknamed her "Kenny" after the South Park character because of how often something went wrong with the car at first, but over time I've managed to bring her up to good reliability and generally fun to drive. I'm hoping to convert to OBD1 and add a turbo since it's a cast iron block! no doubt your vids will be very helpful with everything I need to know around the deeper parts of the engine bay

Awesome video, ill definitely be getting rid of all those ugly vacuum lines soon haha! Looking for some help, my 86 LXi has a rough idle from a cold start (almost sounds like its misfiring) for about 2-3 minutes, then goes into a high idle (2000rpm, then slowly drops down to 1100) and just sits there in park. Warm starts no issues, just the higher idle. Any ideas why? Checked with a mechanic who used to work on these and he said idle control valve failing? Possible vacuum line leak? Any suggestions would be helpful!!

Where do you find the adapter plate? Or at least schematics for it? As far as I can see all the links on the 3geez thread are dead

Hey Azian, I got a question. Is the harness pnp for a 1986 Prelude Si? Just wondering bc I know the accord is very similar but has some differences.
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 3 года назад
I'm pretty sure it would work. I would contact Boomslang to make sure. The 86-87 Fuel injected Accord ecus are know to work for the 2nd gen Preludes but not the 88-89 Accords.

ROBERT Hullinger Thanks! My favorite bands growing up were Iron Maiden and Megadeth, I pretty much listen to a little of everything nowadays except for country. I’m mostly into death metal and progressive metal.

ROBERT Hullinger I’m listening to almost every band from The Artisan Era record label, other bands would be Veil of Maya, Archspire, The Contortionist, Disentomb, Humanity’s Last Breath, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, The Faceless and many more.

Will any obd1 ECU work with any OBD1 Honda engine? Or is repinning required?
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 4 года назад
Lucifersure DeLosMuertos777 from 1992-1995 all Honda’s were Obd1. They technically should all work with each other but depending on the ecu and engine combo, the ecu may have different setups in regards to the base map tune, vtec or non vtec, rev limiter, ect...It would be way more convenient to have the ecu chipped for tuning.

Hey brother, my project will be starting in a month or two. Can’t wait! But I’m going to swap in a kseries with AWD. Any suggestions?
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 4 года назад
alarmman08 I wish you luck bro. Nobody makes aftermarket K mounts for our chassis, Modified ones for integras might work, humble performance, Hush Performance, Drag Cartel, and maybe Inline Pro May have parts to aid in your awd conversion. Your gonna need a manual K series ecu and custom/modified harness, RSX axles might work up front rear idk, ect....Best idea would be to look for other chassis with the similar awd k series setups and see what the builders did and go from there.

Azian Garage I’m aware of the above. Got some buddies that are making mockup mounts then a coworker has a Cnc machine he’ll make my actual mounts. The front axles will be bseries ones with outer knuckles of our car and inner k

hey bro I just bought a pr4 ecu with b18a basemap, some obd1 pigtails, b18a dizzy, obd0 to obd1 adapters for the dizzy, all arrived today and I'm looking to skip the boomslang and just solder together the wires from my stock accord harness to the obd1 pigtails. problem is i can't find anything on the pinouts for the harness in 3geez or honda tech. any chance you have these pinouts diagram or know someone who does?
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 3 года назад
I do not unfortunately, you might find it on a pdf file on the 3geez wiki site. 3geez.wiki-tv.com/Honda_service_manuals

@@aziangarage alright thanks bro i think I got it figured out. also with the obd1 dizzy in terms of it being modified, is the only modification the 3rd arm getting cut off? or what do i have to do to modify it, i tried contacting shane86lxi to no avail
@draketodd8585
@draketodd8585 3 года назад
Where are the pinouts you mentioned? I'm attempting this on an '86 a20a3 but with an '88 cabin harness and they changed the wire colors of some things. also im shoving all of this into my 2g '84 accord.
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 3 года назад
At @19:08 I show the wire color chart. You can google obd1 ecu pinouts. For the obd0 oem accord pinouts you can find them on the master shop manual which you can download from 3geezwiki.com

@@aziangarage also for the b18 basemap, how critical is it to take the car to a tuner? i just want basic consistent drivability with no forced induction or anything special. i can chip it and burn it myself but tuning is a little above me.
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 3 года назад
I personally would say its pretty critical. The B18 basemap should get your car running but I would not start beating on the car until you get a tune, I wouldn't even go WOT without a tune or at least have an AFR gauge to see where your at. I'm actually about to post some tuning stuff here soon. If you can't find a reputable tuner near you check out Huntertuned YT channel. He does a ton of step by step tuning with real-time results.

I have a 91 Integra with b18b1 swap according to my buddy he converted the engine to obd 0. So am a little confused still on your parts list I will need boomslang conversion harness 2 an ecu 3 modified distributor 4 distributor adaptor plate and 5 obd 0 to 1 distribution harness? Or will I just need 1 and 5? Since it's already an obd 1 engine technically sorry rookie and noob. Was actually referred here by Michael aka monkey.wrenching will be visiting him in Arizona tomorrow so pls lemme know
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 4 года назад
Nick Villarama I have a 91 integra converted to Obd1 from previous owner. From what I seen from what he did/ told me was he used all the parts I listed minus a modified distributor and adapter plate. I think 92 & 93 DA integra’s came factory Obd1. You may be able to get an obd1 distributor and install with out modifications
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 4 года назад
Nick Villarama So all you need I think is an Obd1 B series distributor Obd0 to 0bd1 distributor adapter plugs OBD1 non vtec ecu with an B18b1 basemap Obd0 to Obd1 ecu conversion harness

@@aziangarage so now that I got the money lol I can get all that. So I can't reuse the obd 0 dizzy pretty much after the swap just sell it ?
@aziangarage
@aziangarage 4 года назад
Nick That’s correct, you could sell it or hang on to it to convert back to Obd0 for whatever reason that may come up later down the road.
