@@SortedFood both rabid and eggs were pagan fertility symbols used in spring rituals from pre christian times...when the christians needed a date for easter they chose the time of this pagan festival to discourage false idols ect...but sort of failed in that we still use these symbols, if not more now and internationally...as to why the bunny delivers them...fuck knows..
@@tobinbh3940 I wouldn't be surprised if eggs and bunny come from different cultural backgrounds and just ended up together by accident as Easter spread more and more and gobbled up "Heathen" spring holidays.
can we take a moment to appreciate how ahead of schedule and organised this team is? week 3 of lockdown and we're still getting prerecorded videos from the studio. Well done to all the Sorted team! Proof of a quality show.
@UC_Aoig3wLbjT_xqz23EuPVA Heya Sandeep, the word 'Sorted' is an Expression from the UK which means 'The task is complete and it has been completed successfully'. If you go back to the very first episodes about 6 years ago, every completed recipe, Ben would hold the dish to the camera, say its name and then say "Sorted"! So that's how we get SortedFood
@Axiom Steel26 I agree. It feels weird at first to do the claw grip and to hold the knife close to the blade instead of a hammer grip on the handle, but it's really worth it in the long run. Just practice and it will become second nature.
@@AnnikaOakinnA walk don't run, start up slow with "proper" technique and go faster as you get more confident, might cut yourself in the first few times you speed up but eventually you'll get there, easier to practice on the non-sphere shaped things(spheres are where the danger lies mostly), took me about a month but now that I've got it on lock i can enjoy the horrified faces of the family and friends watching me cook as they think my fingers will end up in the final dish
@@goranpersson7726 Chefs are often taught knife skills by making several cuts-1/2 inch, 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch, batonnet, julienne, mince and several other cuts, using ONE large carrot. It is not as easy as it sounds, but eventually with practice, it becomes 2nd nature.
@@aliyanur9449 I "retired" from the kitchen several months ago. I've been asked several times to cook for others, but I've always said no 😂 a lot of my friends and former colleagues are the same. The kitchen killed our passion and desire to cook
@@christjan08 that so sad tho... i hope you find your passion again! There must be a thing or two on why you want to work in the kitchen in the beginning, just your workplace is not suitable to fit in your passion..
I think this was one of the most wholesome episodes to date. It was just so nice seeing the two chefs work together and the normals being all happy and you know, nobody leaving hobs on and no sabotage. It's very nice to see no competition from time to time.
This actually made me a bit emotional to see the "normals" expressions when they were eating. This has to be what cooking is all about. I've been on both sides of their experience, and it's what keeps me in the kitchen serving others, and what I wish for when others serve me. It doesn't have to be this fancy of course, but what a time to share this. Thank you Sorted!
It's exactly what got me into cooking as well. The creative side is amazing, but seeing people go into heaven for a moment when they bite into something is the most satisfying thing I can think of.
The AWE on Barry and Jamies faces is sooo visible because Mike is the one that is always aware of the skill, even on everyday shenanigans..... Love you Mike
This comment needs to be put to a more...thorough test. PASS-IT-ON: Chefs only vs normals only. 2x 10minute stints per cook, normals get extra time to compensate for lesser skills.
I love how this video was basically Ben and James showing that outside all the fun and jokes and making fun of each other, they are very real and very talented chefs and can come up with amazing meals that we can only dream of The lads have shown enough skills by now to not be called 'normals' anymore, but the chefs are still leagues above them
I would love to see a whole series of recipes like this where the two chefs get a bit cheffy. Like, if we all think back to “Level up” where the Normals would take a simple thing most folks know how to make and take it one step up. I would love to see a series like that where they take a known dish, like a full English, or a fish n chips, or a hamburger, or pad Thai etc and then have the chefs level that up with some few tweaks to make a cheffy version.
Tyrone: Daddy, what are we doing for Easter this year? Ben: First, we`we all wait for the Easter Lizard to slither about birthing eggs to hide, as they lay eggs naturally, then we`ll feast on solidified swiftlet saliva soup!
You can really tell this pushed the boat out and blew the minds of the normals, seeing the effort that went into those and the really technical detail of how to get the best of things was impressive, Ben and James should be proud of that meal.
Honestly it's the least they could have done after James and Ben went through all the trouble of making the meal. At least they were complimentary enough.
I appreciate you guys actually showing James breaking down the rabbit so much, a lot of channels would shy away and cut to when he had the saddles, but seeing the process is so important.
Honestly, just want to say a massive thanks to everyone at Sorted. You guys are playing a huge part in keeping me sane during lockdown! Also thanks to Jamie specifically for the dad joke of the day for bringing in some light during a dark time
More of these two please. My God, i actually can watch them cook in real time. No need to edit it down to 15 minutes. Just upload the whole thing. So talented Ben & James!
Jamie's little "oh!" of delight when he bit into the rabbit phyllo packet. Barry being stunned. Clearly, the guys *do* appreciate the chefs' level of effort and expertise! 😀
That moment at the end where everyone is showing appreciation toward each other - that's what I needed right now. Don't get me wrong, I love it when the boys rib each other constantly, but I absolutely loved seeing their friendship at its purest, especially now, considering the state the world's in... I hope the boys are all doing well at home!
I wanted to give a truly sincere thanks to you all at Sorted. 2 years ago I had lost all my desire to cook. I found no joy in cooking and only ate to survive. This channel reignited my love for food in all aspects and I'm now cooking the best dishes that I ever have. The other day I spent 13 hours in the kitchen preparing and cooking food. Making a full roast chicken Sunday lunch, then using the stock from all the trimmings and chicken carcass to make the best risotto I've ever had. This in turn became an amazing arancini which I took in to work the next day for my colleagues. All of it had gone before lunch. I'm now planning on starting up my own business based around delicious food and having a good time with those that you care about. And it is all thanks to you. When this lockdown is over and the business is up and running. I would like to invite you all to come and be a part of the grand opening.
Almost a wholeass year since this video lmao what even is the state of this world. Didn't expect my 18th birthday to be in lockdown, but looks like my 19th will be as well
Oh my, this is all so delightfully cheffy, and it's so clear how much they hope the boys like their feast! :) Bravo Ben and James! All 3 dishes look spectacular.
My country is almost at the end of our second lockdown, and I swear to God, binge watching literally hours of your videos every day has been my one and only joy 😭😭😭
I wonder how many people realized the significance of how they cooked the rabbit? They used two OPPOSING methods to do it. Low heat gentle cooking over a longer time via sous vide, and extremely high heat pressure cooking to shorten the cook time. Literally opposite heating methods which they ended up using in the same main course plate That's crazy
Guys, I'm a UK police officer and as always, I cannot tell you how happy and content your videos have made me, not just right now but for the last 3 years. Thank you and best of luck to you all x
It's videos like these that you get proof that yeah, these guys are honest to god trained professional chefs. I want more videos that's just them flexing their skills like this. It can be satisfying every now and again.
@@TheAmazingDurp Not all lizards are easter lizards- though I'm reliably informed we may have seen the easter lizard in Star wars: Episode 5 with a selection of other bounty hunters
I enjoy the non-stress/ non-competitive videos once in a while where James and Ben get to shine as chefs with delicious food. It's wholesome and soothing.
I come back to this video very often because I really enjoy seeing the chefs use all their skills and make food for people the care about. It's nice, plus seeing something fancy or a bit more complex coming from the sorted kitchen is always fun.
Or another appropriate holiday. Maybe if they decide to do an American Thanksgiving dinner. That is a time of celebrating togetherness that might make doing a group shot easier to do, without difficulty of trying to do it around normal British holidays. Sort of win-win.
I think that we see the chefs cooking within very bizarre parameters (using cookbooks, unknown ingredients, pass it on rules etc.) that we forget that when those restrictions are removed they are both professionally trained chefs with over 20 years experience between them. They've travelled the world, tasted food most people don't even know exists, and cooked with some of the best authentic regional chefs in the world whilst on their travels. Basically: well in boys that food looks incredible
I would love to see more episodes like this! Ben and James just doing what they're best at, and enjoying it. While I learn chefy stuff along the way. Brilliant
Hi guys, thank you for keeping up with the videos. During lockdown, could we have a tour of your kitchens? See what equipment, gadgets you use at home day to day. Keep safe guys. John
Me: "it's okay, thank you for the warning but I'm sure I'll be fine watching a breakdown of a rabbit." Sorted:"not if we put a cute bunny icon along with it you won't"
On behalf of everyone, thank you for keeping up with the uploads and how much you are spreading the message of social distancing and to STAY AT HOME! Stay safe, cheers guys 👍
I wanna see them do Chinese New Year. Cuz Chinese celebratory cuisine is just as much about quantity as it is quality. It would be nice to see how they balance that.
Thank you for letting people who are squeamish know to forward through the rabbit prep but still showing it - it’s important we know where our food comes from and the process by which we get delicious completed dishes. It’s not all sunshine and happiness.
This is so amazing and I'm super jealous! Can we get more episodes where the chefs can show what they are capable of? Here's an idea: exotic seafood! (Lobster, turtle, mollusks, swordfish, whale etc.)
Between all the free form things and spoofs and travels and whatever, sometimes I forget the fact that Ben and James are trained, passionate chefs and can show it. Really nicely done, this one!
'Twas the most wholesome thing I've seen all year. The Chefs showed their prowess and how... Also Barry getting emotional in the end there is relatable AF. The pure happiness at the end of that meal made me (happy) tear up as well. P.S. RU-vid needs to add a ❤ button for Ben's wink at the end there.
But more importantly, stay safe @sorted peeps! And thank hoy sincerely for bringing good cheer at such a trying time as this. Kudos and love halfway across the world in Malaysia ♥️♥️
I live by myself and have just been watching a lot of Sorted for the past two days because I miss my mates and family. It's a lot of fun watching such a great group of friends. Hope everyone is safe and healthy.
