Brilliantly said. I can use this visual to teach my preschoolers at work and the way you’ve explained the ‘how to’ I can also adapt . I’m so passionate about teaching children to love. As Prophet Bob Jones’ shared “have you learned to love?” If I can teach little ones how to love while they’re young imagine how powerfully fruitful they’ll be in life, bringing glory to God . Patience is what love is able to handle. Kindness is what love gives out. I can be patient with myself. I am not where I am going to be but I am not where i used to be. Being patient with myself helps me be kind to others and not put expectations on them that I can’t even live up to.

This is a blessing thank you for this. Loving ourselves is not taught on enough in the Church. So often self love gets attached to pride, or misunderstood verses like 2 Timothy 3:2, and we miss the importance of love thyself. Forgiving ourselves is probably next on the list of not taught on enough in the Church. The good Samaritan's kindness is the parable I see in your trifecta diagram.

I think balance it's everything I was trying to love others,forgive others and accept others and with me none of this was allowed to happen and the result was >I started to become ressentful with this style and with people I was like I refuse to do it then I said yeah I will still try to do these things but I will put myself on that list as well. Others deserve forgivess?I deserve my forgiveness too. Other deserve my kindness?I deserve my kindness too. I noticed that I thought people deserved love even after they wronged me but I felt like I didnt deserve it.After an episode of OCD and thinking seriously about killing myself I said no more Im done with this.I think this flow foi taught us its a good way to give to yourself and to others without ressentment and most importantly giving with your cup full.

Thank youu for this, I've been struggling to love myself because I've thought to love myself is to be self-centered but it's not its about accepting God who wants me to be and I always remember that I am not a mistake . From now on , I will be kind to myself and be patient so that, by progress I know i will be easy and love myself

True biblical love is selfless, it’s sacrificial. Self love & self hate are both self centered. They both stem from fear & not love. Those who feel the need to love themself are fearful of lacking love. Those who hate themself are also fearful of not being good enough. God centered love does not fear but always trusts (1 Corinthians 13:7). God is love (1 John 4:7-8) & he is sufficient for our needs (Philippians 4:19). God is capable of loving us better than we could ever love ourselves, do not fear & trust Gods love is sufficient for you.

So here is where I have a hard time fully understanding this message: I've heard it said by other Christians who I trust that we have one example of love and there is only one definition of love and that is Christ Jesus. That the only definition of love is to do what is truly best for someone without regard for yourself, just as God did as Jesus on earth. I've heard from them that as soon as love is altered in anyway, it is no longer love because we have but one example of love. So if we turn love on our self (self love) it is not love at all because it is almost in direct opposition to the idea that love is doing what is truly best for someone else without regard for yourself, where as self love is often doing what is best for you without regard for others (selfishness). This has caused many to equate self love with selfishness. I can see where they are coming from with this idea, and on some levels I agree with it, but on some levels I agree with you and this video. I have been reading scripture and this still doesn't make complete sense for me. Jesus says to love your neighbor as yourself, but he also tells us to deny ourselves and follow him. Maybe I am just not understanding something completely. I think this could be solved by not thinking of practicing God's patience and kindness towards ourselves as 'self love' but rather just as living as Jesus did and accepting his love for us. I hope what I said makes sense, I'm interested to see what others have to say!

I was subscribed and saw today that I was not somehow, so I resubscribed.

I'm stuck at what it means when Jesus says "you must deny yourselves if you want to follow me" and "those who try to save their life will lose it" and "they did not love their lives unto death" "the end times include people who will be lovers of themselves" and what Jesus had to do on behalf of us, sacrificing everything, suffering humiliation, betrayal etc. How do you reconcile those verses with loving yourself? I know we cant love others if we do not know how the Father loves us, it's just how are we supposed to confidently do this when theres scripture saying not to try to save our lives too? I would love to know 🙏🏼 thank you for reading this

🔴 This is not biblical. Jesus tells us to deny ourselves not keep our eyes on ourselves so we can sooth our own feelings. We fix our eyes on Jesus!!! Our worth + value is in him. Nowhere in Scripture are we told to speak affirmations over ourselves. We are to pray to God!

I thought that God hates human beings - gave me a loveless abusive father - never knew what love means

You cannot love your self. We have no love to give. Only god can give us love, which we can show and give to others. We cannot LOVE ourselves because we have no love of ourselves to give. "love yourself" is just a lie that sounds pretty.
