This series is what made me, a 15 year old 90 lb struggling teenage girl who worked out 2 hours every day, neglecting school and my social life to be societies standards, turn into a 16 year old 140 lb teenage girl, who gets all As and Bs and can enjoy going out with friends while eating whatever makes me happy without throwing an internal fit and works out for enjoyment, not because i “have to”. Thank you so much stephanie. After being in and out of hospitals and doctors offices, this series is what inspired me to change before it was too late. ♡

In my experience, people will always have something to say about your body. My parents do that all the time and it's so annoying. "You are skinny, you are too shredded, you have belly fat, you have too muscular legs and glutes, you lost muscle in your legs, your arm muscles are too big". They are surprise me every day. I don't know what's coming next. At least there is variety not to get bored or something 😂😂 I don't know. I now like how I look. I love my muscular arms, have increased my calories but haven't gained any weight (I guess every body is different) and my hunger and stress are significantly decreased. I could have ended 5 kg heavier but I really don't care anymore. Still trying to get stronger by the day though. Keep going and don't let anyone ruin your happiness

I can completely relate to this, as I’ve always been skinny naturally and my negative body image of myself came from family and others always commenting and criticizing how I was “too skinny”. I would stay the same weight no matter how much I ate. Fast forward to a few years ago, I took control for myself and began bulking and weight training. I felt so good in my body! But of course the same people who told me I was too skinny, were now commenting on my weight gain 😒 I learned to love my body in all forms and to change it for me 😊

@rawbirbella justthat I agree. While I am happy she is not following strict diets she is eating super unhealthy foods. It is ok to eat these foods but as once in a while thing. The relationship with food is good when you're not counting every calories of worrying about every single thing. But that only happens when most of your food is healthy. I don't care of how much I eat because I mainly eat lots of fruits, veggies, foods that found in nature like rice, beans, chickpeas, ect. So I seriously don't care about calories because I know I am eating real food. I do eat cupcakes but that is like once a month.
@birdsbirdsworms
@birdsbirdsworms 3 года назад
@@breadjinnie5495 i don't think she eats as "unhealthy" now - looking at her more recently videos/clips it seems very balanced. however, she did have to allow herself to eat any kind of food she wanted in order to free herself from the mental side of restriction. i'm currently recovering from disordered eating and as hard as it is, i have had to allow myself to eat any kind of food i crave so that my mind heals, and in turn helps me to heal my body. actually, after doing this and letting myself eat "unhealthy" food more frequently, my body intuitively craved "healthier" food, and so i became more balanced by allowing myself this freedom. i hope that makes sense. in terms of educating people, it's not about saying "eating burgers etc. is good" it's about saying food freedom and intuitive eating is good - no food is morally "bad" and you deserve to fuel your body. by knowing that no food is "bad", you know that no food can control you.

The idea that the world thinks healthy was what she was before is a false narrative that likely comes from her own ignorance. Nobody who knows anything about health thinks a single digit fat percentage is healthy. Most people who are concerned about health know what health is. I think her whole "everyone got mad at me for gaining weight and not being skinny" is mostly her own misunderstanding of what people had an issue with. She used one extreme to fix a different extreme, and probably a moderate approach would have also worked and caused less strain to her body. She ends up in the same spot in the end, but I would guess most people were critical of her fast weight gain because she was saying how it was to be healthy, when gaining weight like that isn't healthy. Not to mention that whole first year she did strength training and specifically stated she did not do cardio in another video. I think she didn't even know what healthy was and on the road to getting healthy she mistook criticism directed towards her weight gain as being some sort of body image criticism when it was really a criticism of her method. I am also sure there was some criticism that was actually what she thought it was, but mostly I think it is her misunderstanding born of ignorance.

Don't worry it takes time not to care about how many calories you are eating. Don't quit. I have significantly increased my calories from eating 1600-1700 to eating 2300-2500 but haven't gained any weight. I guess that it is because my calories where so low that impacted my NEAT and the calories I burned during exercise. I am so glad I stopped being so restrictive. I hope some day all of my meals can be intuitive and not only half of them. Everything needs patience

I really appreciate this video. I’ve been battling an ED since middle school (I’m now 21). Building a healthy relationship with food and weight gain has been extremely difficult for me. When I decided to recover I flipped a switch and became obsessed with exercise and healthy dieting, trading one form of control/obsession for another. Now I’ve gained 15-20 pounds and am kind of in an identity crisis. People say I still look good but I have body dysmorphia so I can’t believe them.

It's so hard to go through and I'm still losing the weight which is coming off so slowly and it's painful to not look like myself and have to deal with the discomfort and not knowing where my weight is going to end up. I've relapsed a few times but the extreme hunger comes back again, it's terrible and I feel so stuck, stuck with the hunger, stuck in this bigger body, I feel like I can't do it sometimes. I'm glad this worked out well for you, but I feel like recovering from my eating disorder is causing me to have a mental breakdown and I always wish I could go back but my body fights me so much now. I was very overweight before I developed anorexia and the thought of ending up there again terrifies me on a daily basis, people don't treat you very nice when you are in a bigger body unfortunately and I saw that this past year at my highest recovery weights. I agree with this sentiment People get fat because of poor impulse control, this has never been an issue with her. She’s always been a motivated individual so her issue was never with discipline, it was to do with what she thought society wanted her to look like And this is a rare experience. Some people will no doubt use this as justification that fat = healthy and I don’t think she represents that. The reason she looks so damn good is because there’s a shit tonne of muscle underneath holding it all together People need to consider that. Her mindset regarding exercise hasn’t changed, only her relationship to food. If you don’t like to exercise but want to loose weight, eat less - if you want to eat what you want but look like her, exercise more

Everytime I watch this video I cry…this video gives me hope that one day I too will be able to eat freely, without restriction again - thanks for being a beautiful, inspiring role model 💖

She is a liar, she was extremely underweight and always hungry then she ate freely and gained weight until she felt bad about her weight and started controlling what she ate again, now she is lean but not stupid lean, thats great, but to say that the solution is eating freely whatever you want, even if it is all the junk food you want, is a stupid message and irresponsible. All in is a fraud
