After a few months and 50+ hours of runtime, I go over my thoughts of the Ai-Power Generator from Costco. I have been super happy with the performance of this little generator as we have been using it for our renovation. While I have overloaded it a few times while trying to run multiple power tools at once, I just would run one thing at a time (Shop-vac, table saw, skill saw, heater, etc.)
Ai-Power Generator powered by a Yamaha motor. This little genny is rated for 2,000 watts starting and 1,600 watts running. Eco mode will bring the noise level down considerably!

I just purchased yamaha new EF2200IS generator I absolutely love it and does our camper amazing, I've always been a yamaha fan. And awesome review on your yamaha generator

I bought 2 at Costco ran fine and quiet ,did the oil change @prescribed hours(think it was @2 hours)after that I got about 12 hours on 1 n the other wouldn’t start, I live at a high altitude so I should have gotten a high altitude carb kit, my mistake! Hard to keep running,lots of power outages in ca mountains Sce/PGE SO I RETURNED to Costco, no problem great return policy,I went to goal zero 3000 yeti x very quiet, no fumes,can have generator in same room so far so good, the YETI IS COST PROHIBITIVE so payments it is :( Keeps the lights on n internet, will power fridge n freezer also, different duty cycle

Bought the Yamaha 1600 as pictured in the video. Used itfor12 hrs and changed the break in oil. Changed oil, and after that, it would not start. Went to the shop.

Do you have a link as to where you found the no spill oil drain tube? It looks like a great oil change tool. Looked everywhere on the internet.

I have the new blue version of this from Costco! But can I ask why mine doesn’t start on “Start” switch mode when I pulled the cord? It started when I turned the switch to “Run” mode. Keep in my mind I added oil, gas, idle on off, and gas cap switch On. Is my brand new generator defective?

Does the switch have a "choke" mode? My first thought is that "start" = "choke" and if its warm enough then you don't need the choke.

@@Svaren yes Start and Choke is the same. And you’re right the engine is warm so I guess that’s why i didn’t need to turn switch to Start/Choke position! Also I tried again after 2 days and the engine started on Start/Choke position again! Sorry I’m new with this generator thing. I just wanted to be sure my brand new unit wasn’t defective. Thx for responding!

This thing is saving me from the current issues in California. But my digital fuel gauge, and RPM gauge wont work at all. They both light up for a second when I start it up, but otherwise nothing. Any ideas? Great video.

This machine is amazing. It's been running my huge fridge/freezer, spare deep freezer, and a bunch of other stuff, all day and night. With a few shut off breaks in between to let it rest and save fuel. Customer service tried to walk me through fixing the gauges, but it didn't work. So I'll swap it for another when the fires calm down.

The generators are the same and the parts Interchange. The engine in the red model is just chinese version of the same engine.

More than likely. Check how much power your fridge draws, this generator will power 1,600 Watts. I have heard others using it to run a fridge and more!

It will run a house refrigerator fish hank lights toaster and others and more I know fist hand when pg&e was cutting power last October. I was getting around 7-8 hrs a tank.

Bought the A-ipower red model runs real quiet not easy starting and overloaded it once and goes into overload mode every time its started really wanted to like it but poor electronics/quality control and own a larger Firman and it fires up and runs awesome so look at a smaller Firman instead returned A-ipower 2000

I have the exact same one and bought it 3yrs ago. I use it camping and hunting only a few times a year. This year I started developing an issue where it starts but red light goes on but will not hold a load meaning it runs sluggish and will Not power anything!! Any ideas to issue

First things I would check are, spark plug, clean fuel, fresh oil, and clean air filter. I’ll have to look at mine to see what the red light indicates

@@Svaren i thin it may be a foul spark plug but the red light is just below the green light that lights up when you start it which I think indicates everything is working

I believe that the red models have a AI engine , the blue have yamaha engines , ....hence the price difference

There is definitely a difference between the Yamaha generator and I Power. Two videos I saw the eye power generator did not come close to producing the same amount of electricity. Mechanics who work on generators have told me that the Yamaha motor will go twice as long as the other engine. That’s why you pay the difference for a Yamaha. Chinese products are made as cheap as they can and they cut back anywhere they can to save two cents. Definitely get the magnetic dip tube and record the amount of hours that you’re using it. I bought the Yamaha from Costco and wow did I learn a lot from everyone who came up to see it. My friend went through two of the other companies while his one Yamaha is still running strong. You get what you pay for. Thank you for the good video and the explanation I learned a lot

Hurricane bearing down on Hawaii and I can't get this started. Unit is new, out of the box. Eco is off, fuel vent is open, oil filled, starter set to choke...Help please.

Maybe try starting without the choke? Is it trying to start at all?

@@dailyprodigal I guess when the temperature is high, you don't have to start from chock. Same reason when restart the engine it will not start from chock but run position.
