If the engine is warm, no need to start it on choke mode. Use choke mode if engine is cold, great unit.

I have the red model of this generator... it has been used through 3 power outages and its a great little machine ....very fuel efficient and plenty of power for my needs ... much better than sitting in the dark and sweating

When first starting the generator put the carb on CHOKE, after it starts switch it to run. If it is warm there is no need to use the choke. In fact if it is on choke it will not start, like you found out. Looks like a nice model, I am a huge fan of Yamaha engines.

It went on sale today for $399; I ordered one for my daughter. Also, remember that the choke setting is only used when it's cold; warm starts don't require choke. Also, take it off choke as soon as possible so you don't foul your plug.

Great Generator. Good Job during Hurricane Fiona and 12 days after. Remember...1st oíl change 30 hours next ones every 50 hours. Change spark plug at 200 hours . Clean air filter at 200 hours with soap water..then use a little engine oíl on filter..remove excess...That is to capture fine dust. Do this and this Generator Will last for years.

Would had been nice if after you connected everything, you showed how much was been drain ( to get an idea of what % of power was been used) from the generator power level. Overall real good video.

I want to update my ipower 2000 to the ipower 2300, but im really concern about the noise difference between the two. Has anyone heard them both?

Just got one, price now 569 before tax, I am assuming since Costco is still carrying them a year later, that means their reliability/return rate is good/low, hopefully. The noise levels on this and the Champion 2000 are both comparable to the Honda EU2000, and price is about half the Honda. Note that if these are used regularly then you really have to know about their maintenance otherwise they stop working after a few months. 0. change oil after running first tank of gas, break-in engine at 25-50% load for first 5 hours, 1. use Stabil fuel stabilizer to prevent ethanol fuel from clogging the carburetor, 2. do not run on dirt surface so that dirt gets sucked into air intake, run only on level surface 3. buy spare spark plugs and get familiar with how to check and change spark plug, 4. if storing for a long time, empty the gas tank and drain the carburetor bowl, and take out the spark plug and squirt some oil into cylinder and pull cord once or twice 5. eventually the carburetor my get clogged if old fuel is used without Stabil additive, at this point is when generators usually are tossed and a new one bought. Cleaning the carburetor is not too hard, but each model seems to be different in how to get to the carburetor jet, not sure about this model, I had a Firman and it was a bear. There are lots of youtube howto videos on generator carburetor cleaning, it seems one could make some good money doing this as a service business at any RV park haha.

Choke only when it’s called you use it, ones runs the RPM drops because engine start to warm up, very normal

Just got mine delivered today. Had bought the Firman 2000/1600 the day before this went on sale, so took that back and ordered this one. You might also change the oil after running for an hour or so to break it in.

I used to have the Honda EU2000i for my motorcycle tire warmers but traded it for full off-road suspension 🤦🏻‍♂️. We just bought 2 of these for $399/each at Costco. Not bad and better compared to the HF Predator version. You only need to keep it on Choke on until it warms up, then switch the knob to Run. Also, make sure to run it periodically or else the carb jets will gum up from the ethanol in the gasoline. Home Depot sells non-ethanol gas that you can use as storage fuel.

Use the choke when the engine is cold. If it's warm, you don't need to use the choke.

Yes, your ELECTRIC generator will run your gas water heater. (54 watts). It will most likely run your gas forced air furnace too. (~600 watts)

Do people who have never used a tool before think they can just wing it or do they do they read the users manual at least 1 time to learn the proper procedures for using a brand new inverter generator like how to "Gently" run in, aka break in, the engine so that the tool will serve them well for years to come. The main difference between pure Honda branded & pure Yamaha branded generators versus the other less expensive inverter generators is the gasoline engine used & the robustness of the electric/electronic components used to build the generator. For non-commercial occasional use( like a 5 day power outage several times a year) a good non premium inverter generator does the job as long as you buy the proper Wattage unit for what you NEED to power.

Can you do a video with Db test? It says 52 Db on it but real test would help.

I was wandering what kind of water heater you have..Usually they are 240vac two phase..That generator is single phase 120 vac..Besides that the water heaters consume much power than the one that generator provides...Clarify me please..

It's normal. Chainsaws, blowers etc. Are the same. Choke is for a cold engine, it increases gas to air ratio, when engine is warm you don't want to do this or you can flood engine. This is dependent on temperature. It is handled automatically in cars

The engine is warm it means lower RPM so should not start on CHOKE, very normal

We have used the ru-vid.comUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

Dude read your manual first. Inverter generators and any small engine needs to be broken in properly, The rings need to properly seated so do not use synthetic oil until after the first 100 hours. Also don't skimp on extension cords, your cords are light duty and will ruin your generator by causing the inverter overheat and will damage electronics for the same reason. Go with 12AWG cords or 10AWG or high demand loads. The small Yamaha inverter generators and Yamaha clones use a 79cc engine which I consider to be underpowered. I spent more and purchased the Honda eU2200i a lot more. It's engine is 53% larger than the Yamaha and the Honda parts are reasonable. The Yamaha service centers are few and far between while Honda service centers are ubiquitous. If you have health issues and need to run medical equipment or flooding problems and need to run pumps, spend the money and go with Honda as they last a very long time and start every time with proper maintenance. Good luck, but read the manual. It is also very difficult to find online sources to purchase a Yamaha online as these engines have a higher failure rated, and the dealers do not want to be bothered with returns. Even the big box stores stopped carrying Yamaha.

Ya there not that great I have one ran it 1 time as a brake in and it sat for a 6 weeks went to start it it was hell-a hard 40 pulls screwing around it finally started would I buy again ahhh probably not would I tell a friend to buy it no. Its just ok nothing great if it craps out again its going back.

It's pretty simple. Figure out how many watts of power you need and buy the generator rated for that amount of power????

This is not a Yamaha generator, it uses a light duty engine made in China. If you want a real Yamaha then buy a real Yamaha, 12-14 hundred dollars for 21-22 hundred watts.
