www.williamsmobileclutch.co.uk 🇬🇧 Contact us for your clutch replacement A big thank you Tim another one of our RU-vid customers.. Kind regards. K-A. Williams.
Just for a split second when you removed the boot for the concentric slave cylinder I thought you'd become so strong you just punched a hole in the side of the bellhousing 🤣 as always mate I'm really happy to see your busy and doing well 👍🏼
Great, a V40 with a Volkswagen turbo Diesel. Engine wise it was a very smart decision. Volkswagen was ahead of the curve in terms of Diesel tech and those engines are plentiful.
That’s what I thought. You could really see the quality in the metal they used in them. Down to the bolts. No rust on the threads everything looked fresh
Is it me or am I imagine most of the clutch replacement are front wheel drive......or are they more transfer engine's now.... never the less you do a breath taking job my friend....
Always great to hear from you .. hope you’re keeping well .. Since the last bit of snow it’s been mostly a good one .. the odd bit of rain to be expected. Other than that it feels like the Caribbean 🏝 🐠
Great work as usual. Was just wondering what model that Milwaukee impact wrench is, looks a handy tool to have. I am no pro mechanic and wouldn't dream of tackling a clutch but looks handy for pulling out instead of the socket set (space permitting). Anyway all the best.
I had a 2002 volvo v40 1.9 diesel. Good solid well engineered car. Testified as that is 20 years old looks solid. Renault engine but to volvo specs? As the volvo 1.9 seems to be better than the Renault version. Would you not be better to get a gazebo for weather like that? or is it a drysuit you're wearing 😆 top job once again.
Since Volvo switched over to Peugeot engine it’s literally a never ending failure. This one here is the the actual Volvo engine you can see the quality down to the nuts and bolts .. not a single bit of rust .. Gazebo are too risky. The metal leg might scratch the paintwork with winds and takes too long .. The time it’ll take me to put it up and take it down and pack and unpack I’ll probably be halfway through the job … You’re absolutely correct. All my clothing are completely water repellant. I spray them with nanoman. Look it up and let me know your thoughts
hi Kevin , greetings from sunny Queensland Australia , great vid this one , 19year old VOLVO i am imprest if this is its first clutch job , also , where can i buy those grey balaclavas , do you have a merchandise site , i have long hair and tired of it being greased up working under cars
Hey Colin.. big Hello to you .. the balaclava are great. Keeps all the dirt off the back of the head and neck. Keeps the falling debris off your face. And most importantly you’re not breathing the micro fibre dirt from the clutch friction plate. They are breathable and actually keeps you cool rather than getting hit in them. It’s nomex.., what the racing drivers use and fire retardant … I’ll send you a link in the next message
Hi Kevin, I'm based in Exmoor. I've seen your website and in a few months I'll be needing a clutch kit and new DMF fitted to my 2006 Multijet 1.9 120BHP Doblo. Would you be willing to travel this far if paid extra mileage? Your work is professional and trustworthy.
@@ramboi9498 What makes you think I haven't already done that, and then came here on RU-vid after having no reply to my texts or emails to see if I could make contact here. I'm sure you've also seen the website, but unlike you the specifics of car repairs don't go right over my head. Have a nice day Karen.
Amazing dude…. So many bolts and nuts do you have a system where you put parts down or do you just remember which bolts or nuts go with what part In my case at the end, bolts and nuts left over😂
Can not using grease on the input shaft cause a stiff clutch in hot weather or traffic? Had my clutch done but its stiff in warm weather. New master cyclinder and slave cyclinder, new fluid too! It's causing knee pain
How the heck did that input flange section come out of the gear box? It looked like you tapped it free, so there were no retaining fasteners? Volvo's??
kevin watch all your videos i seen the one the other week solid clutch conversion i did that to ford mondeo mk3 1.8 petrol , what drive shaft upgrade could i use to compensate the jerking a bit be greatful for thoughts thanks in advance
Hi mate, any chance you remember the brand of clutch tool you have? or where you got it, i've got a Mac tools one and it's an absolute farse and really just better off eyeballing it. so many parts, loads of choices, having too find the right size collet then put it through ect ect wasn't worth the money.
Clutch and flywheel replacement worth times more that car itself, I dont believe in that low mileage because cluth pads worn is stupid. I had same 1.6 petrol done over 300k km on original clutch.
If they changed the whole cluster and by chance found exactly the same OE number, Firmware and general version then it would show the donor cars milage (original milage might still be stored in CEM or ECU).. or if re-programmed (this is required on the P2 chassis of the same era). But who would put that effort into a car like this or even the money. My bet is that it is an eldery person who owns it/drives it rarely and slips on the clutch more then Michael Jackson was slipping his shoes on the ground while moonwalking. Clutch seems to support that theory, no material on disc left and burn marks on the flywheel.
Actually... the S40 and V40 was'nt built in Sweden but in Netherlands. The only issue with these chassies (both phase 1 and 2) is that they are'nt as rust resistant and that's what gives it away. Even the phase 2's like the one in the video is starting to get really crusty underneath since many does'nt take care of them. But with that low milage on this one.. the owner will have many more happy miles as long as they take care of it and keeps the underside fresh and clean. My S40 I had went 360000Km before the chassi gave up. And I now have a V70 -03 with 482000Km on the clock and is free from rust and runs like half of it's milage. So it's fair to say that S/V40 of that time was indeed Volvos budget versions. I still remember the commercials that ran on TV. I think the aim was middleclass-low income families or something. Sorry for the long comment but became a bit nostalgic. 🤣😂
@@mcautodatas My 04' V40 (built late 03) has done 246.000km now. Still plenty of km left in it. The front suspension is getting a bit brown now, but it is just surface rust. The rest of the undercarrige is spotless. It has lived on salted roads here in Norway all its life. I got it because it was cheap. Some stuff I don't like as it is a half Mitsubishi and not fully a Volvo. I would rather have a V70 if I could find a good one that is cheap (nothing is cheap here)
@@NayNay1991x I once did a Focus clutch. I found it pain in the arse. But this V40 did seem easy. Now I know to do it on my own V40 if the clutch decide to go... I find rwd so much easier to do. Capri one takes under 2 hours with no power tools. Gearstick off, speedo and clutch cable off, driveshaft off, starter off and finally pulling the gearbox rearwards. But the 3 litre one is a bit struggle as the gearbox is nearly 50kg, and the gearbox needs to clock it 1/4 of turn the make it possible to take out.
