A fitting tribute from lots of 500cc Sidecar crews right across Europe as they came to pay homage to Lester Goodwin who sadly paid the ultimate price in racing. Not only was he a fellow competitor to the other crews, he was a friend who they grew to love, with his cheeky smile, and his sense of humour. But mostly his determination to win, just like so many. The multi European Champion William & Nathalie Matthijssen from Holland, also from Holland, Mark Detz/Linda Vijfschaft, Wilfried & Dennie Detz. From Germany came Marco Hundsrucker/Peter Schirmer, Karl Keil/Jasmin Staudacher, and all the way from Denmark the very popular Stinus Lund/Thomas Nielson. Along with British crews of Shaun Harvey/Danny Hogg, Nick & Abi Radley, Simon Beard/Mark Kearns, Tony Cook/Emily Coglan, George Penfold/George Colvin, Barrie Bennett/Eifion Hughes, Scott Dunn/Adam Young, Mike Read/Mark Hopkins, Wayne Read/Craig Mathison, Chris Salisbury/Mike Tomkins, Paul Moorcock/Jon Cook, Trevor Steward/Darren Sargeant. A super entry from the 500cc Sidecars, and the racing was absolutely out the top draw.
A great line-up of 500cc Solo's also, with Joe Screen, Glen Phillips, Dirk Fabriek (NL), Roman Stanek (D), Jason Bunyan, Shaun Tacey, Vince Kinchin, Charlie Saunders, Tim Nobes, Cameron Woodward, Edward Kennett, Ronny Studermann (D), Robert Baumann (D), Richard Smith, Mitch Godden, Martin Williams, Thomas Cooper, Dave Mears, Gareth Hickmott, Matt Etherington, Paul Derrick, Dan Gifford, Adam Filmer, and Stuart Mears.
The RH Sidecars was almost like a British Masters entry, with Myles Simmons/Kevin Woodley, Gary Jackson/Carl Blyth, Rob Wilson/Terry Saunters, Colin Blackbourn/Paul Whitelam jnr, Mark Cossar/Tris Winterburn, Rod & Gareth Winterburn, Richard Thomas/Phil Stoneman, Paul Whitelam/Alan Elliott, John Hiscock/Simon Beaney, Jamie Bree/Ben Whitelam, Mark Warren/Steve Henderson, Ryan Partridge/Anthony Grant, Ray Westbrook/Tony Heath, Will Offen/Andy Wood, Roy Spreadbury/Gareth Little, Andy Gribble/Dave Williams, Phil Syms/Gareth Bemister, and Pete & Steve Colvin.
