You are awesome!! My friend is having this exact problem and I am hoping that he can resolve it this way. His girlfriend is pregnant and she will be so happy to have a vehicle that runs again. Apparently the problem started with a small fire, so I imagine a bad ground is highly likely. Thank you so much for sharing this content. I can tell that you are highly intelligent because you think before you speak, and you are a man of few words. I wish I could find a fellow like you to hang around with. I love learning how to fix stuff.
Mine turned out to be a worn out tired starter motor, i got one form the u pull lit yard form a 54K wrecked car. ( mines has over 200 thousand miles ) that starter would spin outside the car but had no power to turn that motor over at all. it was truly dead. so 15.00 part and all this headache diagnosing LOL It;s back on the road now like a champ. does need a new oil sensor though. i have a drip. it drips right on my new starter.
this is crazy. this videos hard to follow as the camera is not pointed at where you are pointing LOL. BUT! amazingly, it;s also crazy that I can understand what you are talking about because I have been standing exactly where you are , next toe damn car, freezing my ass off for the last three hours trying to figure out why my battery charger is not enough to crank the engine over. I mean, I tested the battery, can't test the alternator because I cant start the car, it's the middle of the night. well now it;s 6 am, I just checked. freaking 25 degrees outside. I will go look again when the sun comes up. here's the weird thing. I was under the hood a week ago. repairing the windshield wiper container and clogged up motor and hoses. I took the ecm computer thing off the top of the cleaner - if I Jarred something or disconnected it it seems to me like it would be evident right away, but nope. its started and ran fine all week till yesterday late night. although the last two starts were slow, wich is not normal, they were sloppy sounding and slow but then it did start and run fine. third time it was dead - when the key was turned it made no start attempt what so ever. so now I have a new thing to go try ! I have My fingers crossed for this one, I wish I had some of the fancy gizmos you have there but all I have is my Multimeter. I can adapt though. The battery is only two and looks brand spankin, plus I have power galore at the head lights and everything. ful charge. I had originally thought the alternator was out probably and the car drained just driving around town and it was just luck that it died in the driveway. I am going to go out later today like a boss and hook up a ground wire to test it. then if that doesn't work I will check all those fuses up there where your nearly invisible hand was pointing around. LOL Thanks man. headed to bed for now though. What a Night!
well that ground trick did not work- checked every single fuse and relay as well. I am going under the car now, to check the starter connections. this is getting super aggravating.
looks like the ground wire to that computer module that sits on top of the air box came loose or lost connection somehow, I am going to try this test when I wake up later today. did you get yours going?
