Very beautiful car man thanks for the review. That orange color is great; so is the red but I imagine they both raise your insurance premiums. Very detailed thanks.
I'm getting one today! I was a little disappointed about the no vanity light but when you threw the the trunk thing was so crazy I forgive it. Can't wait to drive this baby
symawd I got it today in Taffeta White. What I didn't understand is why do Android phones have to use the dealer HDMI cable? I thought that was for iPhone users only.
Thinking about getting the same exact one as you in a few months, It's rare to see Orange Honda's around my area. Got a question tho, how smooth is the ride? I'm mainly going to be using it to communicate back and fourth from work and occasional road trips. Currently driving a Eclipse Spyder GT, and I can hear nearly everything on the road which is a bit annoying.
Great video! Now I know that the fog lights can be used when visibility is 100m or less, but can you pls tell me when should I use the park lights, i.e., are they an alternative to using the low beam head lights when I park on a hghway for eg? (I just got my license)
Very cool man. Wish I could afford the '14. Enjoy it! Thanks for the video. Did not know about the trunk unlocking thing. Planning on any customizations soon?
It's a lease, and so far I did PIAA Intense White headlight bulbs. I may tint the windows, but that's it. I managed to lease it for $227 a month with $227 due at signing.
My parents just got a 2015 Civic EX that i drive regularly as well, its a really well built car. If it was up to me i would get something sporty but all in all it is a great car. Enjoy the Si! Have you ever driven an 8th gen Si? If you did, you can make a video about their differences! (mostly about performance)
Nice video sym... wish you would've gone through a review.. rather than an overview. That said, all of the customization around doors locking and stuff was news to me, thats awesome you can do that within settings.
Great review!! I'm still contemplating whether or not to trade in my 2010 V6 Camry SE for a Civic Coupe SI. I'd lose power since the Camry V6 is really fast but just like you mentioned, speed isn't everything and I'm thinking id have a lot more fun driving a manual Si. Are you thinking of doing any mods to your car?
Smokey Bear The car calculates it, but it usually reads 2-3 MPG higher than if you hand calculate it. When the gas light comes in, it takes just over 10 gallons and every bar is not a gallon.
RakanWD really can't complain though when you're paying that little for gas hahaha. It's starting to get up to around $3 per gallon where I live in the US. Which sucks when you have a Jeep XJ that gets around 15-20 MPG haha
great review, loved that went into every bit of the car, but man did the salesman do a number on you, mud deflectors, trunk mat, they musta went crazy on the add ons with you, how much did you end up paying??
Nick Wong I'm leasing it at $227 and I put nothing down at all. I had to pay $273 out of pocket for the trunk mat, wheel locks, and mud flaps. In the end though, I actually am happy I got the trunk mat and mud flaps.
jthaoz The dealer doesn't care, but the bank that owns the car and is leasing it to you does care. Regular wear and tear is accepted, but other damage usually isn't.
I haven't seen a video on your playlist about why you chose the Si. Since you drive so many cool, and faster, cars it would be nice to know why you chose the Civic.
Only the two tone option. The red doesn't bother me though because it flows with the red gauges. Also, you really don't see that you have an orange car from the inside. Long story short, I am very OCD when it comes to cars and the color "clash" doesn't bother me the slightest.
aquateen77723 Yes it's a great deal. If I was buying I might have chose something else, but since I leased, my payments are basically a steal compared to everything else.
symawd I've heard that the exhaust on the car can drone quite a bit when cruising. Have you experienced that while driving this car? If so, is it loud enough to be annoying? Thanks for your time
you must of had a good credit score right?! i just got a secured card wondering how long it will take to build some credit i plan on paying on time every month so that shouldn't be an issue
Sam Nelson Probably at least a year and even then you'll probably still need a co-signer or take a lower tier. It's a great start though, but for an excellent credit score, they want to see paying for other things such as a home, car, etc. A credit card alone for just a year or so is usually not enough for A-tier without a co-signer.
Scorpion54092 The ride is pretty smooth, but a bit more bumpy than a regular Civic. On the highway though, the exhaust drone is annoying and 70 MPH is 3000 RPM, but it's a great car. Make sure you test drive one on the highway since you plan on using it for commuting and road trips.
Jeff Sloan On the highway you are at 3k RPM even in 6th. You can comfortably be in 6th at 40 MPH so when you are at 70MPH+, there isn't much you can do and it still drones even at lower speeds. It's not that annoying, but it's there.
Hey man pretty new to this; what do you mean by exhaust drone? Is it a good thing that you have 3000 RPM at 70 MPH? Sorry if I sound like a noob, I'm taking manual lessons soon.
Hydragurum Drone is just hearing a constant exhaust tone which can get annoying. High RPM while cruising really isn't good as it creates more engine noise and doesn't provide optimal fuel economy.
symawd Thanks for replying. If I may ask, how has your experience with the car in the last few months been? I am a little concerned about the high revving in top gear at cruising speeds... In your estimation will that reduce the engine longevity if cruising a lot? I am only thinking about worst case scenario, as I live in New York City and rarely even drive at 60mph on the highway. Really excited about this car but kinda confused about why Honda designed the overdrive gear to be so short. Your thoughts are appreciated
Good video but I have to agree honda done went soft and they need to get with the program quick. That type r needs to hit the United States. I know there saying it's not but something like that is whats needed here in order for honda to compete with the other cars makers. I myself wanted to get a new car on was focusing on a civic but not really feeling the new civic models either they look horrible or should I say the front end is what's driving me crazy.
Melvin baldoza It's not a film, but a silica coating. It between $30 and $60 dollars depending if you catch it on sale or not. Look it up on RU-vid, it's pretty cool stuff.
I think Honda really let the Si go soft...all season tires standard, no turbo....this Si competes well with the Elantra GT and Forte 5 but it cannot keep up with the Mini Cooper, VW GTi or Focus ST. Honda needs to get with it...this 2.4 liter engine is 11 years old and is used in CR-V Mommy mobiles...c'mon Honda!!!!! We deserve better!
Yes, but the GTI, Focus ST, Cooper S, WRX, etc. cost more than the Si when comparably equipped. For what I pay for the Si, no other car really comes close. Summer tires are optional. I actually wanted a GTI, and even working at a VW dealer, I couldn't even get close to the Si in terms of price.
I just test drove a 2015 GTi manual transmission, they were offering me a 2800$ discount at D'Ambrosio VW in Pennsylvania...that puts it right around the price of an Si. I ended up buying a 2014 Mini Cooper instead...it just felt like the best of all worlds with a much nicer interior. The Mini handling is absolutely incredible.
buildmorefarms100 Even $2800 off of a GTI S is still nearly $2,000 more than the selling price of my Si. I leased mine though which came out to 36 payments of $227 with nothing due at signing besides the first payment. The Si wasn't necessarily my first choice, but with that price it soon was and the Si has a fantastic transmission which makes it very fun to drive despite being slower. The Si also has many more features than the base models of its competitors.
Avg MPG only 22.3? Damn, I avg 20 mpg in my 2012 450HP mustang with 275/40/19's on all 4 corners. With that said, I do like your car, those civics are great little cars.
okey :D i realy want to see how this car look like at night if have some nice high speed autobahn driving in my channel if you want to see them feel free to check out my channel :D have a good day
symawd Yeah I definitely understand. I'm leaning more towards a Focus ST or a 2015 WRX. Anyways, keep up the good videos and congrats on the new car. :)
symawd Yeah. Where I live, a BRAND NEW (literally, two days ago) Subaru dealership just opened. My uncle happens to work there so he can get me a good deal on a WRX but when I went there the first day they had no WRX's and the ones being shipped to that dealership had already been sold. If I wanted to order one I would have to wait 6-8 weeks. :P
you could throw stage 3 cams w bolts ons, and a tune. and it would be a hole lot quicker. not like insanely fast, but naturally aspirated power around 250 HP or more.
How casual can you go about a review of a car twice as bright as a school bus? This person must love the car and color very much or he would not have purchased it/them (plus the zbirth or whatever that coat pretectant is named). One can review a 68k loaded 2014 Chevy Suburban with more enthusiasm...and it wont provide a third the thrills. It's just surprising that's all (vehicle class, price point, type, name plate/emblem aside......)
