Yeah the studs on these cars suck. Once I snapped the stud then snapped the tap inside of the turbo housing. I thought it was over lol and was buying a new turbo but luckily got it out. Had the drop the whole turbo though.
Getting my downpipe removed was just as hard for me, too! But i only stripped one bolt. Had to bring it to an exhaust shop to get the bolt tapped and threaded.
Hey im getting a 15/16 wrx soon id love to get in touch with you and see what mods would be best for me and that i would enjoy since you have one and seem to enjoy your mods! how could i contact you i live in Miami aswell
Just bought a 2017 WRX and ordered a Cobb AP v3. and the Cobb SF Intake. I'm worried about the whole throw out bearing thing because it seems to be somewhat common. My question for you is, since you have modifications, did they hassle you any because of it or did they just replace it free of charge no questions asked, about the mods? lmk, I'd appreciate it, thank you and good review dude!
Dylan McKinney I will be honest with you. If you don't know the service advisor than you will prob have an issue with it. Every time I went in for service or something I always gave my advisor $20 tip to "take care" of my car. Nothing ever ended up on my paperwork
FlickOfTheWrist Damn, hopefully I can figure something like that out lol. What are signs that the throw out bearing is going bad? Just so I know incase..... hopefully I never have to deal with it though lol.
Why does your lights between your speedometer and tachometer flash like that? I have a 16 wrx and never had that before. I've seen on other vids of both the speedometer and tachometer flash and always wondered why.
It has something to do with the camera when recording it's not actually happening it's like when you try to video something on your phone that's on a computer or tv
+Terrill Cooke Cameras tend to do that when recording LEDs for some reason. You can see it on any ZX10R video with the LED tach or many track days for cars with LED brake lights.
Miles Humphries honestly worse thing ever. Do not take the turbo studs out just leave the factory ones in and yes you will need the adapter. I ended up having to drop the whole turbo out when trying to remove the studs because they broke then broke a tap in one as well. This was all done with pro tools and lift at Mercedes
So if something unexpected happens he has zero reaction reflex in his steering posture, which will end up in writing off his car so he can get a 2018 WRX. Duh
zRouth lol no there are different variables to take into consideration. If I'm doing more highway driving or city driving how heavy I am in the throttle day to day. Like I said on average with my driving it's about 28.
For sure man, I understand that. I owned a 2002 wrx for 8 years. E36 m3 for a couple before that. I realize not every day is hooning about. Some days you're in traffic, some days you're cruising on the highway. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders so I figure you show more restraint and care for your car than most, which is why I asked.
