I always liked the old Caddy's with the huge 472 Big Blocks, but this CTS-V is really nice. It looks much better than last generation, and I like how it can run in 4cyl mode. I would love to have the car for a month in my garage.

bigbiz800 lol. Go to Korea. You'll see some cars that will blow you away and make you take a double take to see if its a KIA or Hyaundi. They have some over there that look like way more classy and expensive than a MB with just as good of quality but at half the cost. Imagine half of Seoul driving around in those. Especially in Gangnam? That part of the country is extremely wealthy. I've been kicked out of clubs for being underdressed and not in a suit and for not being Korean. Shits crazy..

I love everything about this car: The American-ness, the heritage, the sophistication of the technologies in it, the reserved yet strong and manly design language, how the model, in every way, is challenging its rivals and the notion that American Cars are shit. No actually they make great cars, the stingray can do 30 mile per gallon which great. This Cadillac maybe beats the E63 but the thing is, they probably put a whole lot more effort to reach germans level. The E63 is just an upgrade version of the previous generation. If they made the CTS V with 640hp, imagine what the E63 can have if they put all their efforts on it. The Cafillac wont be concidered a rival anymore.

shane white Hardly the case, it was actually Ford that began changing those perceptions first and the modern Ford and GM cars are anything but shit. This is no longer the early 90s that some people want to believe. Funny thing is people hold these Euro cars to such high regard, and the real truth is that the majority of them are terribly unreliable vehicles.

I have a Mercedes E63 AMG and when I see this car on the highway, I think I will definitely back down. My little ole 6.3L V-8 only has 507HP in comparison that is week. Maybe time for upgrading my E63 with a professional speed shop. Headers, full exhaust, true cold air intake, reprogram pcm, remove the 160mph limiter and then maybe I would mess with the Cadillac. But not until then. 5 stars on the Caddy and the re-design. I also said this same thing on another Cadillac video...

He makes it sound so good with all that fancy talk about first time this and that and how the front is totally different but when I look at it I see the last generation V, the ATS and subtle changes not quite enough for me to shell out one hundred grand. Had it been priced around seventy, seventy five I'd seriously consider getting this car even though it has the same basic engine, interior with flimsy materials including the suede that gets as bald as I am and It's only rear wheel drive. It seems that GM has chosen not to listen to it's past present and future customers and simply warmed over the old version stuck a few doodads here and there and called it a day, where was the thought process, the ingenuity, the imagination that once made our American cars the most sought after in the world. One of the only things I like about this car is that it can run on four cylinders and 650 BHP, even though it's being utilized through an magnificent but antiquated engine. The previous gen had a zero to sixty time of 3.9 seconds, GM claims this one will get to sixty in 3.7, I sure hope he made a mistake on those numbers, for that amount of money they're asking I might as well get the ATS-V which is a better car all round for the money, put 650 in that one and you can count it SOLD. The E63 S gets to sixty in 3.4 seconds, and thats going back to the 2012, I can get a CPO version of that one for less than the new V and it won't shed speed in the triple digits, has imperceptible gear changes, torque that goes on forever and the confidence inspiring suspension that makes you feel like your superhuman. Other cars may take off from the line slightly quicker but the AMG will almost immediately catch and overtake and leave them behind. I've never driven anything like it before and can't wait to get another one, 63 that is, I'm blue in the face with begging GM to make a more modern automobile, like the one they did in 2004 when the first gen hit the streets, I was so proud. Maybe later on in the models life they will finally get me back as a customer once they make the necessary changes, I hope so. They took away what made the Caddy so desirable, the price, at almost thirty thousand cheaper than Z Germans made it a bargain even with all the sqeaks, creaks, moans and groans it made.

I love American cars. Just love them. My dad had two Escalades and they were much cooler than Range Rovers. And more reliable + those 6.0L and 6.2L V8's in Caddy's sounded real mad. Me and my brother just recently bought Chevy Silverado 3500 for heavy-duty usage and I adore it. No European or Japanese truck can do things like my Chevy can. And it is very, very reliable. I laugh at people who say that they have real trucks when they actually drive Amarok (piece of crap), Hilux (the best of those three) or L200. I am looking forward to buy some of the 60's-80's coupe as well in the future. The new Caddy's looks just great. Probably they are more reliable than MB, BMW and Audi as well. Sadly, we don't have a dealership in our country

At 95 K I would have to start looking at some other options. I want this to be my birthday present to myself, but I'm only going to consider it if the starting price is $79,999 or lower. I'd be quite happy with a 2013 S8 which has a much bigger backseat for the Kiddles. But I'm very impressed by the CTS V, for a minute I was thinking about getting the V sport, but the design has definitely won my heart on the new CTS V, it has a much younger feel than the S8.

@4fastdrs

Lol, birthday is not until June. but I am thoroughly confounded. I love the design of the new CTS v, but an S8 is certainly a better vehicle from an interior standpoint. and then there's the RS 7.... And part of me still once a GTR. All around the same price range give or take 10K in the used market anyway. But if I'm totally honest with myself, I'm about to launch a new product in May, which will likely postpone the car purchase for a few months,so depending on the success of the new launch I may even be looking at an S65 :-)...

Don't worry, there will be plenty of head to head testing. The CTS-V will destroy the M5, because the M5 is the car the CTS-V was specifically built to destroy. Cadillac took an M5 with them at every step of the CTS-V's development to make sure the CTS-V was better in every way. It's going to obliterate the M5's Nurburgring time.

Love the car, one thing though: "The largest rotors in the business, that we are aware of!" You obviously aren't very aware of the business. You don't even have to leave the company to find bigger brakes. The carbon ceramics on the C6 ZR1 and C7 Z07 packages are both 394mm. Then if you go outside of GM you can find much bigger brakes. The Bentley Continental GT has optional 16.5" (419mm) carbon ceramic rotors. Not sure what he's talking about here...

Nice to see a rival to the high end Merc and BMW luxury "race cars". American cars are finally meeting the international manufacturers head on. They will still need to sell this at a fair bit less than the Merc and BMW rivals to be a real contender, but I think the day when Cadillac can sell a rival car at the same price and there be no real difference between quality and performance will soon be with us. In my view the problem GM seem to have is this need to have bigger or better numbers on certain items and believe that a collection of numbers that are bigger or better that your rivals simply means a better car. Truth is a great car is a package of finally tuned numbers meant to work in harmony with each other to create driving nirvana. I have no idea how this drives but I would suggest it will in the grander scheme when weighted up in all conditions fall a little short of the Merc and BMW rivals except maybe for the straight line speed. Well done Cadillac, keep trying as you will no doubt get there one day.
@vernonprice5986
@vernonprice5986 9 лет назад
Cadillac is currently selling cars that out-perform its rivals, and Cadillac is listed by JD Power as the 3rd most reliable brand out of all manufacturers. I would say they're there right now, not "one day". It will absolutely not fall short of the merc and BMW, LOL. If that's what you think is going to happen, you haven't been paying attention for the last 6 years.
@SuperSilence23
@SuperSilence23 9 лет назад
what your saying is ridiculous, Cadillac CTS out performs its German rivals. I finally see magazines like motor trend proclaiming Cadillac as a better driving car. That is of the 2015 CTS. better driver than even the bmw 5 series. The old CTSV handled as good or better than the M5, so what does that tell you about the incoming CTSV. The only thing i think lacks int eh new cts are the center console buttons.

The owners manual for the 2011 CTS-V pretty much indicated, get in and drive the hell out of it, the 2016 suggests a break in period of fifteen hundred miles or so. They advise don't let the engine go over four thousand revs, they even want you to give the tires a couple hundred miles, go figure. Yes I succumb to the 640 BHP and I'm glad I did, I don't care that the interior is dark and gloomy or that there are no knobs for the AC and that you have to swipe several times to get a response from CUE, at least not at this point, its still new. Lets see what happens and how I feel a few thousand miles from now.

As a german, I have to say I really like it. If the americans continue this way I might just see the day that you can drive an american car over here without having to feel embarrassed about it...

I-95 north Florida people go 100 most of the time heading south at least, after Jacksonville heading towards Daytona you could hit 200 easily...

Good news Kallen 545, in Bidness ETC magazine the Z06 embarrassed the Tesla in a quarter mile! Enough said! Next! Hey BMW M5 owners, the CTS V has the same engine as the Z06. I can't wait for RT, Edmonds, etc to drive it. Oh, and on that note the Cadillac ATS V will take the BMW M3/4. As Hannibal Smith from the A-Team would say, I Love it when a plan comes together!
