damn it looks amazing, so muich better than the puke looking silverado, this has to be the best looking pick up not to mention best interior in its class.
Do those articulating steps have a sensor or two so they don't close on a leg? Or also if kids are playing with the switch made so that it won't close breaking a bone? Just concerned.
I still wish they'd put the 6.2 in the single cab work truck. They could call it the "Merge" edition and say that the extra power makes it easier to merge with traffic. I just like the visibility from a truck, so now it just needs camaro power!
what would actually be revolutionary is if GM fixed their design issues and supported customers of older trucks. what about firmware update to the 08 to 13 infotainment system? or even an update to the 14 system? those 14 trucks are so old now.
+Jeremy Good NO your talking about ford. Their engines barely make 90 without a major overhaul. Fords about ready to do a major recall due to carbon build up on their turbos. Whooops
C Steele No they aren't. Fords aren't made to be pieces of shit. But how can you explain how the new aluminum-alloy body sold more than any other truck in the US?
Jeremy Good the truck is good jeremy but the Engine more specifically the ecoboost is crapola. Just read an article about ford trying to keep under wraps a major recall for Ford ecoboost failures. They don't want word getting out to hurt their over hyped stigma. LIke I said, trucks, they are good, the engine is complete garbage and that is why i'd never buy another one. Like ever. Well never say never, but it'd have to be something awesome and the truck not so much.
C Steele That is not true. You've never driven or ridden in one, and I have the ONLY experience being 16 years old right now and riding in my Mom's EB.
Jeremy Good It's 100% true and that fact that your 16 just shows your experience and bias. Good luck, contact me when you hit 40. :) and we'll have a completely different exchange of thoughts.
I own a 2015 seirra....so they replaced the terrible headlights with brighter ones.....the problem isn't that they weren't bright enough it is that the high setting was completely ineffectual. It's like they are sett to illuminate signs and not the road. I can see a sign farther away than i can make it out....the ditch beyond the low beam setting...nope! They didn't need to be brighter! The last thing I need to do is blind oncoming traffic with lights that are already overly bright! Shit the dims on my GM are brighter than the highbeams on my previous 2001 f150. When are car manufactures going to realize that road lights are starting to become a road hazard to oncoming traffic!
+William Stewart No tried that. Something wonky going on. Don't really care to much as the dims are plenty bright enough to drive with. lol. Seriously though how bright do the lights have to be? You think there would be a regulation to protect other drivers at some point.
logan holmberg There is but only regarding the brightness of the bulb itself. The stock projectors aren't that great to begin with, they're pretty inaccurate just like most OEM lights. I fitted mine with FXR projectors and wow what a difference, way less light scatter.
So new headlights is innovative? I like the styling but Ford is kicking their ass technologically. Question is whats more comfortable and rides the best.
when the only thing worth mentioning is the headlights and there is no real advantage other than "it looks cool", you know the designers/engineers really dropped the ball at GMC...
***** They're only 1800 lumens, not bright at all. The cutoffs on the projector housings (if adjusted properly) is also a sure way to keep focused light out of the eyes of drivers.
Hmmm... a GMC marketing rep is reviewing the new GMC truck. Man, that adds oodles of credibility to this channel's objectivity. Good job, boys. A truly objective channel would ask, is this the best place for the antenna "fin" or did you just think about it when the design was done and approved? An objective channel would ask, SERIOUSLY? A piece of cheap Chinese steel with a Chinese electric motor attached is a GROUNDBREAKING FEATURE? An objective channel wouldn't let the advertising rep talk 20% of the interview time about the LED headlamps, which even kids bicycles now have... in Europe. In other words, a credible channel who are on the customer's side wouldn't be... YOU.
Candles are significantly brighter than the Halogen bulbs on the 14/15s :/. HIDs should be standard for a 50,000$ truck. Nothing really new. 8-speed we've all been expecting, aesthetic change, and that's it. Still will be a good truck, i mean i like my 14, but i really wish they would get away from all the aesthetic appeal and make a off road oriented truck. Now that the running boards actually fold under the chassis they're taking up more ground clearance.
it hurts so much to watch all of these marketers from all companies talk, they read the spec sheets and provide no really knowledge, your videos would be better off with the actual engineers that made the products!! that goes for every company
+MrKeyboardCommando You can find some low ones. Not sure where the adding height stuff came from either. No advantages. 1996 was nice. but less than 5 foot 9 has complaints about any truck anyway.
***** I know it helps in traffic, makes it easier to see over cars. It's kind of weird though, they lose ground clearance every generation yet get taller overall.
William Stewart Is there any reason why GM trucks don't have sides that swing down through 180 degrees so you're not having to lift stuff over them ? Also, why don't the tailgates swing down through 180 degrees, instead of just 90 degrees ?
MrKeyboardCommando The tailgate doesn't drop down past 90 because it would hit the bumper. As for the sides dropping down, I admit that would be a cool feature to see on trucks.
***** The steps and wireless charging can be done using aftermarket products to any pickups. The lane keep assist is new for this truck, but old for the F150. Like I said, nothing new!
+SB N It's a styling refresh mainly, the charge mat is neat though and is handy being that it's built right into the arm rest. I just put my phone down on the center console and it charges away without any need to plug crap in or have to deal with the aftermarket.
William Stewart The best selling phone in the US, the iphones, don't have wireless charging out of the box. People who really want wireless charging, they would have already done so, without the need of factory option. It's not hard to rig up a nice looking wireless charging + phone dock (especially on a full size pickup with ton of interior room). The charging mat on the GMC is such a small deal.
SB N It the whole center armrest, as long as the phone is in the indent, it works. As for Apple products not supporting it, I'm not worried as I have a blackberry and a Samsung.
William Stewart So you failed to see the points: 1. the feature doesn't work with the most popular phones in the US, that means most people doesn't care about it. And it's not difficult to add one, if needs to. 2. The feature is so small, but they don't have anything better to talk about, they'd have to include it in the video. 3. This video is clearly a commercial video being produced by tflTruck, for GM. Every "new" features are so small, it's best to leave it for the TV commercials. I thought tflTruck is more like an enthusiast channel. Enthusiasts are more about engine techs, transmission, body, frame...things that really matter for a pickup. So yes, nothing new here! still same ol truck.
+headcas620 Because they've been marketed and styled as the higher end of the two. Most don't buy plane jane Sierra's, that's what the Silverado is for.
one more gaudy pickup to add to my "never buy list". the over-extensive use of chrome and pretentious badging makes me wanna vomit! Ram, Ford, and GM need to realize that their top trim level trucks are obscenely "bedazzled" and look ridiculous. "Piss-elegant", some would say....
