Great review as usual Dave. Putting my pennies away for my very first Harley ( I have been riding for 43 years), and It will definitely be the Sport Glide. What a versatile machine. Ride safe brother.
Great video brother Dave.., you got it perfect! I remember watching your Switchback video, my wife's bike now!! Your video was a decision maker.., thanks Dave & safe riding!
Bought one of these I already own a 2006 VRSCR, the VROD hasn't had much of a ride out now, the Sport glide is such a nice bike to ride, the only thing I have had is a leak from the front cylinder push rod, which was fixed and now a leak on the front cylinder rear push rod, which is going to be fixed, hopefully nothing else goes wrong (which I think it won't).
Great review Dave, I am going off you real quick LOL. I thought I had my mind made on a fat boy, now I do not know. Keep up the great work mate, Cheers
I like the bike but I am only 5'8 and would prefer mid controls. Also I think I would want a higher wind screen for freeway riding. Lastly would have to change the exhaust and get a little more rumble to her heartbeat. I like the new Low Rider the best and this model next. Thanks for sharing and ride safe!
Thanks for the video! Must say, I'm sorely tempted by the Sport Glide. Setting price aside, would you prefer this or the Road King? I ride on similar roads in NSW to those shown in your video and I'm looking to move up from my Bonneville T120. Before I get too old to care, that is. For the record, I'm 6 foot, 100kgs and a youthful 62 years old.
@@billybob1511 I ended up getting the Road King Special two years ago. It's a great bike but quite heavy, as you pointed out. I'd hoped to do some touring on it but things didn't work out that way. I only take it for a spin once a week these day and generally use my KTM 390 Duke for local running.
I have owned a 2018 Sport Glide since 11/11/17. It is the first HD which comfortably fit my small frame. I've ridden Motorcycles for 35 years and this is the first HD I have enjoyed fully front to back. Super smooth and comfortable - lots of power at 107CU (I upgraded to the Screaming Eagle Stage IV) so I now have 114CU or 111.86 HP at the rear wheel. I test drove all the new 2018 bikes and the Sort Glide out handled all of them. Just a joy to ride. Intuitive feel to it. I traded in a 2014 Honda Valkyrie for this Sport Glide, and while I am hesitant about giving up reliability (?), the Sport Glide provides me with a little more power than the Valkyrie and it handles way better. You will love this motorcycle!
I have an 04' HD. Have only about 45k miles on it. Still runs like new but went to look at the 18's and didn't like any of the color schemes. The colors are dull and boring except for bright blue color of the Softtail classic I sat on. To many denim colors so I'll keep my 04.
