incorrect, you can cruise at 100 and then hit the gas or do for example a 0-200 and also measure the 100-200 which would be a rolling start

Big_Gooch I have always been a huge fan of the St or RS until now, why? Analogue instruments and no artificial electronic engine sound.........have gone imho

@@user-gc3yw9jc9v ah a purist excellent, I agree with you. I also prefer manual instruments and that analogue feel. Unfortunately most car manufacturers ignore us with the odd exception. Coming from a man that's owned a 205 GTi, Renault 5 GT Turbo, Renault 19 16v. I definitely miss the analogue cars.

Looks like the Focus ST gets its power down to the road very well for being a FWD car. All in all, a very impressive performance by both the car & the guy driving - that's you! Great video & love this color on the Focus too!

Own a 2018 St Mk1, original owner. Have installed the standard Mountune suite of upgrades and the Ford 'factory designed' programming. What a BLAST to drive !! )) It's worth all the money. I like the Focus better than my 1991 Mustang Saleen SSC. If you don't know...now you know.

If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the Focus ST 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market. So, the Focus ST did 15.9s 100-200, one passenger and full tank, while the i30n Fastback did 100-200 in 16s, no passengers and less than 1/4 tank.

du hast es auf den Punkt gebracht! Hört sich jetzt etwas kleinlich an, aber die Gestaltung der Instrumente ist für mich aktuell der Hauptgrund, weshalb ich den neuen ST (noch) nicht gekauft habe. Sobald das volldigitale Cockpit (siehe Kuga/ Puma) erhältlich ist, wäre er eine Überlegung wert

Quicker than i30N fastback. I hope for Automann talks episode :) Does it sound in real life as good as on camera? How's the handling? Since it's impossible to(officialy) have a tow hitch in a Golf R variant or cupra 300 ST the new ST wagon with auto box may be my favorite.

Wow. Kind of slow? The 308 GTi is faster from 100-200. But maybe slower from 0-100 because you have to shift in 3rd before reaching 100.

@@ringerbart I guess so too. The GTi has an extreme short gearbox compared to the i30N. Around 200 kph, the GTi shifts in 6th gear while the N shifts in 5th. It is about the same. It all depends on the driver.

5.9 sec with MT is quite GOOD result. I suppose with good AT should easily reach slightly over 5 sec. Fantastic car. Imagine what will show new RS :)

Sad part is no RS from Ford, Ford is heavily downsliding globally they have been overtaken by Hyundai in brand power, value, revenue , product range, warranty, and almost on every count

@@ponygt6629 Partially agree with you. I see Ford changed style and concentrated only on business clients. Typical "Smith" is being treated like 3rd category person. Terrible management style, higher and higher costs. In my opinion the biggest Ford's mistake is not trying to break typical schemes of car manufacturing. Ford cars are good, solid but... it is over. They are not known for really dynamic cars. Interior? Ok but smaller than for instance VW. Engines? Never heard about good dynamic and acceleration... The chassis is Ford's one of the strongest feature but rivals don't sleep. Ford should not be known as car for masses...

@@madmike9316 Well I wont go so far and say Ford is inferior to VW now in dynamics, I ve driven MK 7.5 Golf GTi and the new Focus ST also, I would any day pick a FoST over Golf GTi, The Golf has better interior, better manual gearbox and an engine that revs harder and faster than Fords 2.3 EB but still the Ford felt like it had the edge over the Golf, I will agree that the Type R and even Leon Cupra are superior to new FoST, but a 3rd spot, Ford is definitely there and I assure you this, take the FoST3 with Cup2s on track and I am sure U ll be amazed how fast it will lap around track and I was surprised to see the new FoST3 run similar lap times to BMW M140i

Der ist nicht mit dem Focus ST zu vergleichen. Bin ich heute probegefahren. Der M 140i geht ja wie die Hölle und hat noch den geilsten Reihensechser mit den 340PS. Da haben Focus ST Golf R, Cupra und Co rein Fahrleistungsmäßig überhaupt nichts zu melden. Das ist eine ganz andere Liga. Leider ist der mir aber insgesamt zu klein vorne und zu tief. Fahre noch Passat V6 3,6.

@@franz-josefwohlenhaupt2912 Ich finde auch dass der M140i wie die Hölle geht. Ich bin immer noch sehr zufrieden mit dem Motor. Hatte vorher den N54 in im E92 gehabt und der ging schon sehr gut. Aber der B58 ist eine ganz andere Liga.

@@s.t.1460 Pass gut auf deinen M140i auf, könnte durchaus als der letzte, im 1er verbaute Reihensechser irgendwann Kultstatus haben :) Stünde ich vor der Wahl, in welches Fahrzeug ich 30 - 35k investieren soll, gäbe es zum M140i so gut wie keine Alternative. Vor allem als xDrive sind die Fahrleistungen jenseits von gut und böse und nur minimal hinter dem RS3 anzusiedeln...letzterer kostet aber nochmal ne ganze Stange mehr :)

Aber schon Wahnsinn wie viel schneller der M140i im Vergleich zum Focus ST ist. 100-200 liegen 5s zugunsten des M140i. So einen riesen Unterschied hätte ich nicht erwartet.

Raf Schi Beide sind laut verschiedener Reviews alltagstauglich...aber aufgrund der Optik und des Sounds (und des Preises) musst du einfach den i30n nehmen :)

Vergess aber nicht mit welcher Ausstattung der ST kommt ;) recaro sitze, Headup Display, Bang und Olufsen soundanlage ;) Ford hat bewiesen das sie Fahrwerke und Schaltungen bauen können :) denke der I30N hat hier nen harten Gegner:)

If the new ST is anything like the out going model.. the speedo is out by 6km per hour at 100km, so only 94km in real terms. Only way to get accurate speed is using a AccessPort or OBD2.

I own a new model Focus ST-Line (not an ST, I know) and I owned the previous-gen as well. The previous-gen was about 5kph out for me, the new one only around 3kph. Seems to be more precise this time around.

Schade, dass die Räder immer so krass im 1. Gang durchdrehen. Wäre das nicht so, würde man locker, wirklich locker die 5,7s knacken :o 5,9s, die du trotz durchdrehen und zusätzlicher Person geschafft hast, heftig!

Also 16 Sekunden 100-200 sind echt gut, vor allem zu zweit. Ich finde die Zeit super, vor allem für so viel Auto (was Gewicht, Größe und Platz angeht) und dazu noch als Handschalter! Ich muss schon sagen, ich würde mich wahnsinnig freuen, wenn Ford ab dem Facelift wieder einen RS herausbringt. Fahre ja selbst den Mk3 RS und sowohl der als auch der jetzige ST sind vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis meiner Meinung nach unschlagbar (neben dem i30N). Wie immer tolles Video, danke dafür! ☺️

Hauptsache Ihr fahrt auf der A4 Richtung Olpe (Siehe Eckenhagen Abfahrt-Schild) =D Ich komme aus Gummersbach (GM) und fahre dort ebenfalls sehr oft. Liebe Grüße
