I have a 2020 and 2021 Ram Limited and changed to these exact LED's. Unknowingly, to the dealership and myself that it would interfere with the key fob reception and trigger the fob not detected error and other electrical issues on both trucks. Placing the OEM incandescent bulbs solved the problem. They looked great but caused malfunctions in 2 brand new trucks... I guess that's why those are the only lights that were not LED on the trucks inside and out.

Really? That’s very strange. I’ve not had any key fob issues with mine. The only electrical related issue I ha e with mine is the remote start doesn’t like to work sometimes but I think that’s more related to my Tazer module since it’s a body module.

Hi I’ve had the same issue with replacing the third brake light with LED lights and my key fobs do not work. Mind you I work for the dealership and we did multiple test to see if we could find a loophole and figuring it out no luck. Ram1500 Lons Star 2021.. it’s truly a heart breaker.

@@roberttrevino4235 hey let me know if anything changes. I want to install LED cargo lights/3rd brake light on my 2021 BigHorn but I don't want key fob issues. I've heard some people only changed the cargo lights to LED and kept the 3rd brake light stock halogens and that seems to fix the issue with "key fob bot detected". At least the yellow halogens are no longer used for the cabin lights so its better than nothing!

It is due to the led drawing different amperage and throwing off the Can-Bus system. Theoretically if you made or found an led that drew the exact same it would work.

Be advised lights WON'T work on 2021 Rams, read the info on there web site, hope this helps.

What year is your truck? I can't find anything after 2020 that works. Everything says won't work 2021 models. I have a 2022 model.

Same steps basically, but might be different bulb numbers. I would check their website to verify fitment.

Caution: you're asking for trouble replacing anything with LED in a ram!

Seems to be more of a problem with the 2021 or 2022 and newer trucks for some reason. That being said, items like the Tazer DT can be used to program your truck for LED bulbs so the computer isn’t confused. No issues in this 2019 though.

@@TonyTheTruckGuy I have hear stories that when you install it can interfere with the key fob. It sounds like maybe the found a way around it. Just trying to see what I will need to not run into trouble. I have a 21 rebel . Thanks

@@tsteinour I have heard of some wonky things happening after installing these and I guess that may have been it. I think that was for the 2020 and newer or 2021 and newer trucks from what I heard. Maybe email Lasfit and ask if they have successfully installed them on a 2021. Check the comment down below by Ginormagantuan.

I've tried several times with my 2016 1500 Limited. Caused key fob problems every time.

@@TonyTheTruckGuy So supposedly, if you have a 2021 Ram WITH the technology package (heads up display) that's where the problems come into play with the key fob and throwing dash codes. But if you DON'T have the technology package, the bulbs are supposed to work. I just recently purchased my 2021 Laramie and after doing research, that is what I found out. But I haven't tried it yet myself.

10 mins of 4 bolts and three bulbs.... first you don’t need to disconnect the battery but if you do you don’t need to loosen the ground and the power..... just the power.....I could go on on why this should have been. 2 minute video rather then 10 with 3 adds stuck in there

All I hear is a bunch of crying. If you know so much, why are you even watching this video? If you REALLY knew anything, you'd know that if you disconnect a single battery cable, it should be the ground. I could go on, but blah blah blah...

@@TonyTheTruckGuy hahaha. No doubt. Everybody's an expert on RU-vid. If you're ever interested, read Roosevelt's 'Man in the Arena (from 1910)' speech (it'll take you less than 5-min). Anywho, I also have a 2019 RAM 1500 (DT) and I'm going to try these LEDs. I've also read that LEDs (can) interfere with fobs. Thanks for the video, Tony.

@@alcalu I’ve heard that as well but it seems to be with the 2020 or 2021+ trucks. I think you should be ok with the 2019. I’ll look into that read!
