Back in 2014/2015 when I worked for Penske logistics we were testing Prototypes for freightliner it’s the crash mitigation system when you set your Cruise control it will keep you at a certain distance and the system will Apply the brakes if you get too close to a car or the car slams the brakes on in front of you what happens with the crash system is if you get into a bad front end crash it locks the system and breaks so you can’t move
The reason for no cabinet behind passenger seat is it set up for a dorm fridge. Go to Walmart n buy a dorm fridge. Also it's a automated truck. It's just like your old standard just no clutch pedal n no big stick. It still uses a clutch pack n is operated by your break pedal.
Now where's the headlight vertical adjuster cuz I'm tired of using up fog lights just to see a bit further. Just got a 2020 a couple months back and its stressful driving at night sometimes especially with everyone and their damn mother with bright ass lights
I drive a 2017 freightliner cascadia & it has no power door locks as well. Was told it's dog proof, lol. When you get out to adjust your trailer tandems & your dog jumps up in your seat & looks out the window he won't accidentally lock you out.
These newer Cascadias' have very sharp pointed overhead glove boxes. If left open when parked ---it creates a hazardous for a driver as it is head height. It's understandable that this was designed to be stylish by someone who has never driven a truck before !!
@@oBeYoPtIcZ not my style bro , the closest ill go to a classic is the pete 386, i had my boss W900L for a week and i was just depressed in that thing 😂😁 even my boss hates it sometimes to get in to places , we do flatbed and were in a bunch of places i can get in long hoods r almost impossible to get into, if not they can't get in, wheel base n turn radius and lack of view classic cant compete with new models.
Not much at all different than the 2018 I was in which I really liked. I like how the fleet computer (qualcom thing) was installed with the wire going right in the dash instead of hanging in the way going to the passenger side. Did it come that way or did you do that? Very nice!
Hello , I have a question for ya ... my 2019 Peterbilt 579 has a sub woofer under the bed and makes the stereo sound amazing , how is the sound system on the 2020 Freightliner and where's your fridge ?
A Texas company (won’t mention name) I drive for, their Cascadias have the power locks. Guess it’s an option but I agree, it’s 2019, shouldn’t be an option.
no power locks?! thats like 1960s technology, if they are going to go thru the trouble of installing power windows, it would cost the company more money to not install power locks because then you got more manufacturing setups to deal with
Yeah, I'm super impressed with it. It sounds like crap and it locks up. First trip out and I've had to shut the master off several times in order to reset the radio.
Thinking on Lease Purchase one of them from 2019-2022, My Volvo is down for a transmission replacement... Looks decent enough, but GGggeeeezzzz, no power locks, I guess they're going "RETRO" to sneak & save $$$$ while still charging us an arm and a leg... lol ;-D
I drove a 2019 Freightliner cascadia day cab for about a year. The most rough riding truck next to a Freightliner cabover I ever been in. In less then a year the mirrors were shacking. I wasn't impressed
@@young-blk-investor1059 Well who's to say maybe a sleeper cab is better. All that I know is that frieghtShaker I drove was pure junk. The mirrors vibrated to the point to were cars look like a little dots behind you. Bad radio bad transmission bad engine. If you came across a pothole if you don't have your seatbelt on you'd be launched out of the truck
I haven't watched the whole video so I might be wrong, but there is usually a restraint system for team applications. If you are in the bunk at 70 mph, you should be restrained.
Don't delete it new, they're VERY reliable since 2014 and you'll void warranty. My 2016 truck literally has been more reliable than any of my pre Emissions trucks were. Amazing!
@@vasacsl63 Don't buy a new freightliner you'll go broke from all the downtime. Too many electronics and computer problems. And no freightliner knows how to fix it. My 2018 been in and out of the shop .
Turhan Ayman looks like everybody has a different opinion,i wouldnt go to a shop for every check engine, only if the truck stops working, should i get new glider i dont know anymore
@@vasacsl63 not a good idea with freightliner. I am told that engine lights on these vehicles should not be ignored or face the real likelihood that more complications will occur
Putting the jaw release next to the slider looks really dangerous if you're not paying attention. You could go to slide your trailer wheels and accidentally drop the trailer on the ground! Oops!
My 2020 has power locks on the drivers door, but NOT one in the sleeper birth, so at night I have to get out of bed to recheck the doors rather than just pressing a button.
it's a truck just an economy truck. I like my 379's but these will save you a lot of money too if you're pulling dry van, reefer, or intermodal. anything else, fuck it, take a 379/389 lol.
No power locks when the truck was delivered it might have come with key fobs. But owner ship probably thinks your going to loose them lol this way you have to lock it manually saving the company mega money for all driver lock out charges still no fridge that sucks my company truck is band new 2020 cascade also but its cam loaded just be glad it doesn't have a moron speaker in it that goes ahhhhhhh every time you go over the painted lines that would make you go nuts ahhhhhhh ahhhhhh parking lot s ahhhhh owe i had a rental once ahaha lol
Freightliners are made in Mexico it’s not American made trucks because Iaai directly pick them up from the border and deliver them to the dealer so that tells you it’s not American made trucks western star is the same thing international is the same thing
Christ USE spec's those basic. No diff locks or air dump even, cb prep is nice. LED headlights are a plus but the rest is mehh. Those run the dt12 or allison auto?
Aaron Roberts. what’s the difference? There’s no clutch and it automatically shifts on it is in turn, it’s an automatic. Would that make your car an auto shift or an automatic ?
Trucker Al Automatics normally have no more than 5 gears. Ahutoshifts have from 10-18 just like their standard counterpart. OEMs generally don't put automatics in class 8 trucks. They are put in buses and class 7 trucks like garbage trucks for example. The actual proper term for an autoshift is AMT for automated manual transmission. Automatics and AMT/AutoShifts are entirely different.
Overpriced piece of Junk. I own 2018 I been having all kinds of problems with electronics and the automatic transmission. And no freightliner knows how to fix it . Some dealers do not honor the warranty. I still ended up paying 500 usd for transmission problems. A week later another break down. This truck only have 100k miles. You'll go from all the downtime.
I didn’t make a video on it because there’s something special. Your right it’s a standard 2020 Freightliner. Which a lot of people obviously wanted to see.
No storage it sucks..if you want to be cheap and not put the storage up to the ceiling at least put a fucking $2.oo lip so you can sit things on top..pissed..like it if you want dipshit design team
