It's not really the journalists fault for not knowing how to drive a manual. They could go out of their way to learn, yes. But if they literally grew up around no manual transmissions and the cars given to them to review don't have a manual, of course they don't know how to drive it!

@@kevina2052 Lazy. Just like most kids now days. They have an excuse for everything and don't go out of their way to do basic things. The "It's all too much of a hassle and things shouldn't be so hard" mentality. Not to mention they get offended by everything. Review all the cars and their variants not just the ones that are easiest to drive and popular. If you call yourself an automobile journalist you better darn well know how to drive all powertrains. I don't expect all people to learn this but if you are an auto journo that is an obligation. There is something very special about actually controlling your car's speed 100% via manual gear selection instead of letting the car do half the work for you. My opinion.

I would love to have the 8-speed auto on my JK, vice the 7 speed. More control off road than a manual. Plus the autos have a clutch less manual option.

@@secretpersond8324 go watch other reviews. Price wise it stacks up with other fully loaded mid size trucks. I think it was only $2,000 above a similar really popular fully loaded mid size truck.. Hell that's saying something considering how much jeeps are in general..

Wing 4x4 No doubt. IFS and CV shafts with lockers are absolute junk. Turn too tight and then enjoy spending a couple hours on the side of the trail fixing your popped shaft and bearings. SFA/SRA for TRUE offroad reliability!

The bed is too small.

Turn the switch off when not in use. In the JKs and JLs the inverter must be turned on after starting the vehicle. Any half way decent plus without power going to it is not an issue. Spray some contact cleaner on it every once and a while.

Jeeps flipping isn't the Jeeps design, it's operator error.

I think we will be getting in 2020. They actually did a lot of testing her in Australia when they were designing it. For the dual cab ute segment me are a big chunk of the market so we will definitely get it.

I think the point they were making it it is the only mid-size pickup that offers them (and sway bar disconnects)

You don't want a jeep trust me, I had a 2013 jeep and honestly I only had it for 6 months and traded it in for a tacoma TRD off-road. Jeeps are junk

@@stevenpeterson7234 drove a less than year old 2012 commander that had problems when put in 4wd. It wouldnt drive properly when you'd try to go back to 2wd. They "fixed" it but it kept having the same problem. At least ford and gm fricken WORK.

@@stevenpeterson7234 They're junk but they're fun. I leased a new JK 2-door in 2012 and had it for 3 years. It never left me stranded, went through everything I threw at it, and had unlimited modification potential. Sure, it had the annoying Chrysler quirks and flaws you had to live with, but when the doors and roof came off on a beautiful day, all of that was instantly forgiven. I bought it out at the end of the lease and then sold it, hardly losing any money at all. I'd buy another in a heartbeat...just not as my only vehicle.

Steven Peterson Your crazy 😂, the gladiator has one more locker than you and disconnectable sway bars and from factory comes with better tires than any new Tacoma. I like tacos but there not better. The ZR2 alone has been proven to be better off-road than a taco as well. Toyota have reliability for ever but that’s all it’s got on those two.

My Taco is always dirty. No one ever wants to go inside of it... That didn't sound too good 🤔😐

@@brettmccoy5900 I might be a lil crazy but I've took my Tacoma through worse terrain then the Jeep. The Jeeps down fall is the length and the ZR2 has three low points in the rear. I would rather take a Tacoma over those two trucks any day. 👍👊

Okie Rider: The PowerTech 4.7 (3.7 v6 as well) was one of the biggest engine mistakes in recent history, as told by its brief 10 year run. Top end oiling problems, weak timing chain and guide components...it was not a good thing. I’m with you on the 5.7 Hemi though. Although for most people’s use, they don’t need the power. And if they do, Power Wagon.

@@BTC909 ..3.5 was a very reliable engine..I bought many with 250,000 miles and they ran perfect ! I owned 3 dealers (now 1 and more slective with the cars I buy as I am semi retired at a young age) My Brother in law personally put 240,000 on his 06 Charger with the 3.5,bulletproof engine...Remember it has a timing belt 100,000 miles youre to replace it,nothing goes wrong with the 3.5 ! 2.7 was good if you changed the oil and if the waterpump leaked replace it right away..Toyota had a worse reputation with sludge than Chrysler 2.7 but the perception that Toyota is better people rebuilt their engines thus you see them with 200,000 miles,when you see a Chrysler with 200,000 its never rebuilt its original ! Honda 3.5 was problematic,failing timingbelts and cracking waterpump housings and failing transmissions ! I owned them all bought them all and know !

So buy one and swap a hemi into it. What's the problem?

Solid axles make a vehicle more off road capable. The wheels were off the ground because they reached max articulation, which by the way is the highest in the industry. Do Subarus have lockers front and back? Sway bar disconnects? 4.71 ratios? Chromoly axles? Hell do they even have 4WD?
