I have driven many vehicles and used many tires but never had a combo as good as this vehicle with these tires. Its almost like driving in the summer time! Instagram-@workplaytv
@@J.Young808 cause you have temps at 38 doesn’t mean it’s formed at 38 and atmospheric pressure. Temps are different in the sky vs on the ground. Snow can come when it’s not low enough ground temp. The snow you see was formed at 32 or under.
My buddy had them on a cavalier It would drag itself through 2+ feet of snow all the time. We would laugh our asses off while plowing snow up over the hood . It would over heat from snow caked in the grill. I'll never forget it. That was in c.b
I'm in the eastern part of the Ohio River Valley/West Appalachian mountains in the Mid Atlantic, and we've had several snow falls this year. I've enjoyed it lol.
One of the coolest videos I've watched. What an amazing place and what an amazing truck+tire review. Thanks! Looking forward for this year's winter content!
This video made me feel so good about putting these tires on my 23 4Runner 40th Anniversary. I'll be using them to go to Mt. Hood and Bachelor in Oregon, USA. I had Pirelli winter tires on my Mini Countryman JCW and went through a foot of snow in that. Tires make such a HUGE difference. I prefer going on unplowed roads than the ice sheet that comes after they plow.
Do you still have this 4runner? How about the FJ? Sorry I haven't watched in a while. I ve had my 2014 4Runner SR5 and 2007 FJ Cruiser for about a year now and absolutely love them particularly in the winter
The Limited is the only AWD setup on the 4Runners. The sr5 has the same 4x4 system but without the lever to engage 4x4. SR5 uses a switch (the switch does look similar to the Limited) but the transfer case and 4x4 system are the same as the TRD off road. SR5 doesn’t have off road program modes like MTS and crawl control. It only has ATRAC. Anyway, only the Limited is full time 4 wheel drive. All the others are part time. Except the rare 2x4 versions.
4x2 4Runners are not that rare here in Hawai’i, a lot of Police use them as patrol vehicles as the cities & counties subsidize officers to drive their own vehicles to patrol.
just bought these to save my expensive rims and not so good mud tires from the winter haha throwing these tires on my stock rims tomorrow and can’t wait for a supposed big storm this sunday to test them out
@@workplaytv That would be great. We are looking at the Blizzak that does come in 20 but steel rims are heavy and hard to find. 18 would be the next option. Thanks for the reply
Thanks for the great review. I have the same tires on my 2018 4RUNNER SR5 Premium 4x4 and I love it. Performs like a Beast in the snow here in Toronto. Makes it too easy with 4x4 on, sometimes I just leave it on 2 wheel just to slide around for fun, but being careful at the same time. Looking forward for a major snowstorm...lol.
The Appalachian region is worse every winter but I agree with you, the whole mountainous region of VA is overlooked. Most of the southwestern counties get more snow than most counties in WV, more than a lot of counties in Ohio, and so on. All people need to do is Google those counties averages. The county in VA with the highest annual average snowfall is Wise County. The snowiest place in VA (😊😁 is Burkes Garden)
Hello, did you have any issues with the Limited? I am thorn between the SR5 and Limited. I thought the SR5 would be better on gas since it has the 2WD option compared to the Limited full time 4WD.
Good video man but I don't understand you driving so fast of course you aren't going to have a problem going if you already doing 40 mph. Test you tires slow and steady, stopping on a grade and then taking off again.
Yes. It means that wheels can spin at different speeds. Most pickup trucks have a locking rear differential but Toyota uses a looking center differential
@@IKhanNot yeah a center diff keeps all 4 wheels locked while a rear locker only keeps the rear wheels locked. I have a Jeep Gladiator that has a 2 diffs. A front locker and a rear locker
same trail he took I can do in my 14 camry se with all season Michelin CrossClimate I done it before I live in TupperLake ny we get the same amount of snow
Thinking of getting them for next winter. I had BFG K02s that were great for 1 season then the next winter they were crap and I was sliding all over the place
@@leadnsteel1428 yes we have those on our delivery vehicles at my work and up here in Canada like you said they are good for about 1 year then they aren’t worth it. I’d say they are more of an all season tire than a true mud hybrid.
I had the same 4Runner (2016) and it’s the best built vehicle I’ve ever owned. I live outside of Truro, where in NS are you? Hopefully we get more snow than freezing rain Tuesday Edit, looks like New Ross.
the cross climate 2 is a All-Weather tire that meets the minimum 3PMS. These blizzaks are a true winter compound tire, winter siping that way exceeds the 3PMS. snow/ice the cross climate won't even come close, especially -40 degrees or colder
@@gwot and get they perform extremely well. They look at the traction pattern might be a clue. Hey go by my experience with them. Most people can’t even afford to try to different tires so they are just talking out of their ass.
@@johnmadsen37 I'll take michelin's word that their X-ice dedicated winter tires outperform their all-weather cross climates. I'm sure they perform extremely well, full winter tires just perform better.
The Cross Climate 2 will not beat out Blizzaks. I have a set of Blizzaks DM-V2 for my 07 Nissan Xterra, and Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV for my 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium. The Cross Climate 2 will do it's job very well. But no all-weather is ever going to outperform at top tier winter tire.
@@markbagshaw2142 It's been while since I had a set of Michelin. On my 07 Xterra have set of Blizzak DM-V2 which I've used for 5 seasons now, never had a issues with them. Even my Bridgestone Revo 3 from 2018 are holding well. You should try the Nokian Hakkapeliitta at some point. Those things will blow your socks off. Got them for the 4Runner.
