The Nyon Display is the newest display introduced by Bosch. It was introduced in 2020 but we’re finally starting to see them on bikes more now. I think a lot of people like it since it’s one of the most feature rich displays Bosch now offers.

I am over here drooling over Nyon display 🤤. I asked that they let me put this on my bike when I bring it in for tune up next month. Apparently, appointments are backed up.

Hello, nice video with a lot of information, you seem have some experience with this Nyon ;O)), so do you find how to make a way-point (recording a POI). this option is on access only when Nyon is on the bike but never in function for recording... do you have some information about this unfunction ? thanks

not that I expect you to reply - but i'm curious to know if anyone's upgraded from a Bosch Kiox BUI330 to this unit? looks like it has the same contact points - just different mounting bracket.

You mentioned due to its size, the Nyon might not be the best for a mountain bike, and we agree. For the same reason, we would not want to use a smartphone system for a display. Since we are planning on getting Rohloff equipped mountain bikes, the reason we would probably strongly consider the Nyon is because it displays your current gear selection. The Kiox displays the gear too, but is not legible for me, without my reading glasses. Do the Bosch displays connect to a GPS bike computer (with Bluetooth) like a Wahoo Roam or Elemnt? Our Wahoo GPS head units can connect to our Shimano equipped e-bike, and display the current gear selection. So we wonder if Bosch has this feature. We would go with the Kiox, if we could see the display for gear selected. (Actually, a Purion does everything we need, but has no Bluetooth.)

Try watching this video in 480p or less - it is audible but not visible - something might be wrong with youtube's low-res conversion process? Only seems to apply to your recent videos.

Is there a difference between Kiosk and Nyon in ruggedness? For mountain bike use. Or are both equally suitable / unsuitable.

Technically the Kiox is a bit more rugged and more intended for mountain biking. Primary due to the size and the mounting though. It has a quick release magnetic mount that will know off in the event of the fall. The Nyon has a plastic clip which might be more susceptible to breaking under that condition.

You need to get the specific fitting kit from R&M. I had it done by my local Bosch-certified bike mechanic. It's tricky. Bear in mind that, unlike the Kiox, this new display will NOT charge your phone.

Can this be added to a bosch with a purion display or an older intuvia. If so maybe you could have a video showing how to install it and what kind of cost is the Nyon? Thanks for the Bosch updates.

Technically it is, but you will need to run a new wire to the motor which is a good amount of work.

@@peteturner8493 typically internal routing is the part that can take some amount of time. Depending on the bike it can take between 30-60mins.

@@alexandervonbraun Thxs know what's involved now, Bosch should have made this upgrade a lot easier, a connector up from the motor would have simplified things greatly? Assuming you can get your hands on a Nyon display but its like trying to find hens teeth in the UK as of Aug 2021.

@@peteturner8493 bosch really doesn't like that people are home mechanics. Which is fine, not everyone wants to be. They do unfortunately have the most closed ebike system on the market. However, for now they are quite easily the best over all motor in terms of reliability and finding a dealer who can service them. This is why they can encourage customers to buy into Bosch and get customers to have the dealers fix their motors. *Edit* i saw today that I'm getting one this week, I actually ordered it last October, which means i have waited almost a year!

Chris are you able to make and receive phone calls through the Nyon?. So if I was riding…would I be able to place or accept cell phone calls with the Nyon thumb pad?

No. I’d like to be able to see calls come in and maybe texts displayed, but it doesn’t do either of those at the moment.

I don't get the monetization for the lock or other features. It isn't something that requires compute or memory resources on Bosch data centers, so why do you need to pay for it?

one thing to watch if you fit a supernova m99 front light, the light Adapter (lower brackets) For the new Nyon Bosch Display (2021) they will not fit , I do believe that supernova are now catching up and bringing out a new set .

When you remove the screen, do you need to protect the connectors from the rain?

Typically the contacts / connections are gold plated so no, if the screen is off the bike I'm assume its going to be protected anyway.

I called Bosch today to find out if this Nyon supports charging an external device like a phone or a bluetooth speaker from its USB port. It does not.

Technically yes, but it would need to be offset since the light is in the center of the bars. You would also need to run a new wire to the motor.

Hi. Always appreciated what you do. In this video, you do not mention if I coud change my KIOX for a NYON. I'm on a Samedi xRoad 7 with a 4th generation Bosch Performance Line CX. If possible can you tell us the approximate price to do it and moreover, is it a big job. The existing cable must be changed or not. Thanks for all. I think my question will interest many persons.

Thanks! You can easily change as the wire doesn’t need to change. The prices vary, but it’s about $400 here in the US for the parts.

It is 2021 and displays are still coming out with a bezel.
