Porsche UK website is showing a ‘new’ Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid.

I don't think an RS6 has ever really been a comparison for the Panamera, firstly the styling of the Panamera has finally been cleaned up, it was a pretty confused ugly duckling in its earlier life and still never has the practicality of carrying things like an Avant RS6. It's more of a very fast well built sedan/saloon/ hatchback ...like the RS7 !!! perhaps. Then there's the estate version and subjectively I prefer the RS6 C7 version.... a younger man's car all round... But if you want a fast sedan go for it....!! nothing wrong with it at all.

Porsche are being very nice lending you their cars recently Tim 😀 I’d love a Panamera in the garage, but just can’t find enough reason to own one in the UK. We had a Macan Turbo, which did most of the jobs this does, but still found it a bit big. Macan Turbo was amazing on our bi-annual drives to Czechia though. Agree about the Sport Turismo, bloody lovely looking thing! My partner now has the smaller 2+2 rear engined version of Panamera. You might have heard of it. They call it 911 for some reason. This is fidgety and more work on the Autobahn, but way better everywhere else. A PDK 991.2S is a great all-rounder. I’ll stick with a manual Cayman for a while though. Perfect personal transformation for UK roads 🤓 Do you bother owning a nice car Tim, or do you manage to get by for lols with loan vehicles?

I'm happy they made the Pan Turbo S lighter and the gear shifter isn't Porsche's TicTac box nub thing they have been using. I would much rather have a E63 S Estate with its noise and utility/5th seat.

You have to compare it to RS7 not RS6.

Counterpoint. I had a 970 G2 for 3 years, and it was awful. Lovely to drive, yes, but the ownership experience was terrible. It rusted at 6 years old and Porsche said FO the corrosion guarantee doesn't cover it. It spent several months in the workshop getting the hybrid system repaired and there was a LONG list of other maladies. To drive, epic. To own and, perhaps more specifically, having to deal with Porsche GB as a consequence, utter shite. Anybody buying one of these used, eyes open.

It's quite an ugly car but nobody can doubt it's performance credentials. What one can doubt is it's future collectability. I don't think big heavy V8 sleds will appeal to connoisseurs and the like. It's likely this thing will end up in the hood, cruising slowly on 7 or 8 cylinders and an herbal mist wafting out the windows.
