First, great vid on how to change the oil. Here's my opinion on these oil changes. I have 300 miles on mine and I'm about to go ahead and do the 100 mile oil change. They want you to do it because of it being a new motor and possibly having a few shavings from the engine. I think its a bunch of BS myself. I checked my engine oil and it s full and looks brand new still. Its a gimmick folks, use your brains! Most engines DO NOT require such quick oil changes, its just a money maker for the dealerships. When people start doing these oil changes at home like this guy and me, the dealers will stop recommending these 100 mile oil be changes because they'll no longer be making major money off of them. When I bought my Talon in 2019, they said 300 miles, now they're down to 100 miles! I've never heard of one single side by side or atv ruining a motor by not doing an initial 100 mile oil change and I"ve owned a lot and neglected some of them pretty badly and no problems with any motor I have. Even the 600 mile intervals they recommend is WAY overkill! If my Diesel truck can go 5-6k miles until it needs an oil change, I highly doubt these off road machines need it every 600 miles, I'd go for 1,600 miles instead. Do yourselves a favor and stop changing brand new oil for brand new oil!
Thanks for making the effort to record yourself doing the oil change. You did a nice job. What isn't clear to me from your video, however, is where the oil filters are. Are they accessible without taking off the skid plate? Or is taking off that plate not only convenient, but mandatory?
@AnthonyRicco, thank you. The skid plate doesn’t have to be removed. I only removed it, to avoid get oil on it and then drip into the garage floor. You can maybe put small towels just below the oil filter section to maybe catch the oil that drips but if you don’t care oil dripping, that’s optional. The oil filters are located just behind that rear step, I believe is visible around min 3:42
@@sergionavarro1707- after previously watching your entire review, now I know exactly what to look for and what it looks like. Going to the spot you told me to in the video, you're right, it's perfectly visible to me. Thank you very much for your reply.
