I screamed so hard it scared my cat when they announced Andrea Riseborough for Best Actress. What a huge surprise!

I'm so happy that Stephanie Hsu and Brian Tyree Henry got nominated, but Danielle Deadwyler getting snubbed is just heartbreaking.

I screamed so much when Paul Mescal got in. Then burst into happy tears. So happy he was nominated. And thrilled for Women Talking getting two nominations.

Top Gun: Maverick being nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay was a great surprise! Would have loved to see The Batman get more nominations (especially for Best Score and Cinematography) Otherwise, I thought most of the nominations were deserving! Can't wait for March 12!!!

no Decision to Leave, no RRR. the Academy coming in with the surprises again! I'm happy for Stephanie Hsu though, I doubted that she'd make it. I finally saw Triangle of Sadness last week, and one of the major aspects that stood out to me in this movie was the sound, I'm surprised that it seems like I was the only one to care about that! :D

hedging my bets on austin butler winning actor, the last time there was a best actor without a picture nomination was crazy heart jeff bridges in a relatively weak year. Then you also got the Rami Malek and Christian Bale year, which is eerily similar to this years. You got the music biopic of an all time famous singer that is absolutely devoured by audiences, and you got the performance that is more of the critics tea that is caked in prosthetics. And in the exact same scenario, rami is also a relatively newer actor compared to bale and is only around 4-5 years older than butler. So its not like butlers newcomer status is going to be a huge obstacle, with an overwhelming audience support AND on top of the fact that Elvis pretty much got everything it needed and more with cinematography, its looking stronger than bohemian rhapsody

Every year there's one omission that makes me angry. Last year it was Denis Villeneuve in Best Director. This time around it's Danielle Deadwyler. Full disclosure - I haven't had the chance to see several of the Best Actress performances yet, so maybe I should hold fire. But Deadwyler's performance in Till was nothing short of remarkable. One of the most extraordinary performances I've seen from anyone in YEARS. It's bizarre that she's not included.

Babylon is following the BR2049 narrative as a BP miss that wins a tech Oscar (Babylon likely to win score, to BR2049’s cinematography). Both were box office disappointments with small but strong fan bases, increasing IMDB scores AFTER the initial weekend, and likely (but not guaranteed) to be more appreciated in years to come.

Thrilled for Triangle Of Sadness getting in for Best Picture & Director but sad for Dolly De Leon. The cluster you know what that is Best Actress. Can't fault Andrea Riseborough for getting in (that's a game changer) now I have to search that movie out, but, gutted for Danielle Deadwyler. That was definitely Top 3 female performances of the year to me. Everything Everywhere over performed so that's where my money's going for Best Picture. However, a writing nom for Top Gun Maverick makes things interesting. RRR at least got Best Song which it should win but I would have taken the movie all day for Best Picture over Women Talking. Now the 7 week wait until Oscar's night. Keep up the great work Austin...

I don't know what happened to the Best Actress category. They snubbed Viola Davis & Danielle Deadwyler for Andrea Riseborough and Michelle Williams. This was a huge slap in the face.

First of all, I LOVE your reactions. LOL! I did not expect Tom Cruise not to get in for some reason or the other? I am gutted because Danielle Deadwyler did not get in or Viola Davis, and who is Andrea Riseborough?

Pretty ticked Felix Kammerer didn't tag along with all the All Quiet nominations. He carried that movie and easily should have been nominated over Nighy or Mescal. It's nice to see the Academy give international films more attention outside of International Feature, but we still haven't seen a breakthrough in the acting categories even after Parastie & Drive My Car. Such a shame.

The Oscar nominations were very underwhelming. No wonder they disabled the comments.

I am happy for Hong Chau, very relieved she made the cut. Michelle Williams took Deadwyler and Viola spot, she should be in supporting category. Yes Riseborough is the biggest surprise nomination, she had almost no precursors, it just shows that she had strong supports from her fellow actors in Hollywood.

I know about the campaign but it's so crazy that it worked! - It sucks so much that Danielle Deadwyler got snubbed, she was phenomenal in Till. - Dano was to me the best perfornance in The Fabelmans, and its shame he got snubbed once again at the Oscars. - I hated Blonde, but I'm not mad that de Armas got the nod, she carried that movie on her back. - EEAAO surprisingly overperformed, and well-deserved, I'm happy especially for Stephanie Hsu who I thought was going to get snubbed over Curtis. - Not much love for GDT's Pinocchio, that's a shame. That and Puss in Boots 2 are my picks for animated film of the year. - The Batman missing cinematography hurts but I guess I can handle it, but Top Gun missing, just no! - Damn! no Decision to Leave, the Oscars always do Park Chan-wook dirty. - Mostly happy with the nominations for best picture, but I still have yet to see Women Talking, and I need to see Triangle of Sadness again since that's so far the only one that I'm lukewarm on.

I got 72,5% accuracy on Goldy Derby, for my first time playing, it was very good, even more when the first one got “only” 80,83%! 😊 Some bold choices as Spielberg missing director and Wakanda Forever in Picture didnt play out, but I predicted the Viola Davis snub and the nominations for Judd in supporting actor, Andrea in lead actress, and All triangle of sadness nominations (screenplay, director and picture).
