Brandon Whittaker Eh... You ain't really missing much. Just plenty of boring moments with no internet and a game a month which might or might have not sucked, plus you had to be very precise when you watch tv. Nintendo was cool 'n all but games really didn't last more than week at the best and then you had to wait forever to get a new game.
***** You can breach that cherry racist card to someone who cares once or just shove it back up to yer arse once you've cleaned your own act up. You know know less than a shit about ladies you judge by appearance. and for fuck sake kid, see that "Enter" button on your keyboard? It's there for a reason.
Geez, guys, please calm down. You're spamming my email by fighting. There's no reason to argue over such trivial reasons. Anyway, yeah, '00s were ok but the '10s so far... Eugh, this decade is looking bleak so far...
why did nintendo stop saying "now you're playing with power" just imagine how awesome 3ds commercials would be: "now you're playing with power, 3D POWER"
Nintendo stopped saying that because the video game war was over in the early 2000's. They said it in the first place to compete with SEGA saying "Does what Nintendon't".
I think they stopped using it as their catchphrase simply because of changes in marketing. They continued using it during the SNES and Gameboy however this all changed around 1993/94 when they replaced it with Play It Loud!.
Danielle Pluzsik there were several. everyone of them has a different memory tied to it. however because it's the very first game I remember, I have to say super mario 3
I learned it from my brother who prob'ly learned it from his friends. As a kid, I didn't really have the patience to complete it and thought the character was a man myself. Let's Play Metroid! Play play play - Let's Play Zelda!
games are missing all of this marketing these days especially the innovated cool games that deserve it or else they get over shadow by call of duty or some other stupid main stream
I was born in 1995 so I was blessed to have grown up with a N64 and a PS1. I wish I could go back and relieve it again. I really hate that every game now a days is just about shooting people. Like what happened to all these awesome games 😫
Actually, Nintendo just stopped ruling the earth now that the Wii's obsolete.... Units shipped Worldwide: 100.90 million (as of December 31, 2013) Holy crap.
marioandpeefan09 i want an xbox if i do get one ittl be my only non nintendo console and im only 12! i want to become the greatest gamer in the multi-verse
Now Playstation does Nintendo should never had back stabbed Sony back in the day with that CD add on situation for the Super Nintendo now Sony made a console for revenge and has succeeded.
Most kids today have more, but appreciate less. I was 13 in' 87 and received my NES for Christmas. Simple graphics and sound, but my God, I flipped out. To be able to play Spyhunter for free whenever I wished to. I kinda pity anyone born after '88. These times are lame, safe (as in what you can say), and overdone.
2003 All the other sixth graders in my school who call themselves "nerds" only talk about stupid Call of Duty. I on the other hand want Earthbound VC Wii U so bad. Serious. Also Kid Icarus VC Wii U, Kid Icarus Uprising, ALL THE ZELDA GAMES (especially Windwaker HD), MarioKart 8, Xenoblade, and awesome games like that. And I'm a girl. NERD POWER
Great video. I remember all of these games. The MARIO 3 one seemed larger than life to me as a kid. I just remember being blown away by the game back in the day. It was just so colorful and fun. They sure don't make 'em like this anymore. Then again, I'm sure some people are thankful for that. For me though, games like these are the true classics!
1:55 Only those who grew up during these years will understand how good us kids had it, best time to be a kid 80-90s... Everything was marketed towards kids and kid friendly.
That image showed children covering most of the US and Canada. It would require perhaps a trillion people to pull this off. Rough estimate considering a billion people only light up small area of the planet (look at China or India at night from space).
I think a lot of these commercials are pretty good. They seem to be well-thought-out and most of them make the games/system look exciting. Too bad they don't have such interesting commercials today ...
Nostalgia overload. I was born in 1987 but I had Amiga 500 so I had a change playing the vintage games in retrospect. I envy my older brother who played Defender of the Crown when it was new in 1986 :-D I think it is nice to see people born in 2000s be interested on these gems. Gaming is not just about graphics.
2003. It stinks. I like all the underrated games while the other "nerds" talk about Call of Duty and Call of Duty only. I'm the only true nerd. As u can tell by my user, I am a girl too.
If you have a working NES, you're not missing anything at all. Just because the 1980s and 90s are NUMERICALLY over, the 90s coolness is still cool if you think it to be so. My point is: even though the 80s are over in terms of numbers, it's technically the 80s, if you want it to be.
I would love to buy an NES, my dads boss actually has an Atari I'm trying to get my hands on, and maybe not but only because I was born in this era. If I'd been a 10 year old in the mid 80s rather than a 17 year old now, I doubt I'd have any problem adjusting, there'd be nothing to adjust.
Bass Player It was incredible back then, I was born in 73 so I grew up with a pong, then got an Atari in 80, my NES in 87 and have been playing ever since. The only thing I still do from my childhood is game so it's probably the thing I have the fondest memories of from the late 70's & 80's. Those older games obviously are graphically weaker to today's standards but I always felt they were more challenging. If you can go back and play some of those old classics you should have a good time
Born in 73, I loved growing up in that golden age of gaming. If I could go back and relive it all I would do so. Things were much simpler but lots of fun. My favorite things from back then was Star Wars, Transformers & Nintendo. I love the amount of games for all the systems that have been made over the years, I like to go back and play all the ones I never got around too. Then when you get to PS1 & PS2 holy damn there are a shit ton of games to play. Fun stuff.
I do but I never owned that game, I have friends who had it so I checked it out at their house but I never got it myself. It was hard to get a lot of games back then since it was expensive so I had to pick my poison. I was more into the RPG's so I spent a lot of time playing Final Fantasy and the Dragon Warrior games. Rest of the time it was Metroid, both Zelda's, all 3 Castlevania games, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Faxanadu, Ghosts'N Goblins, Gunsmoke, Rolling Thunder, SMB2, Tetris, Dr Mario, Wrecking Crew etc etc. Lol
Born 1980. Had the last best childhood. Poor kids today have more but appreciate less. They missed out. To much PC and games suck. Movies even suck. All visuals no substance.
Classic Nut I was born in 81' and I know what you mean. The 80's and 90''s were the best decades to come up as a kid. Times have sure changed since then. Ahhhh....the all night sleep overs at friends houses drinking soda and eating candy and just beasting Nintendo games all night long. lol Good times my friend.😊
I was born in 1994,I judge the games based on their content not the date they were made, the legend of zelda for the nes is one of my all time favorite games, the legend of zelda link to the past is fucking overrated because it has a lot's of flaws,I also like the jack and daxter games and tf2. I really want to buy nintendo's next console and play the breath of the wild splatoon 2 arms mario odysey and skyrim.I know this console is supported by activision so I hope they bring a call of duty game(hopefully a remake)because I have never play call of duty before. watchmojo already made a video about the problems with retro gaming,so I don't feel sad at all for the time I was born, after all I can just go to google and search for every old-school game I want and play it.
***** Its just sad to have played a game like RE1-2, Megaman titles, etc and then look at their shitty modern versions. Actually mega man has stayed fairly true to the their franchise too bad they haven't released a megaman game in ages. But look at the new DmC, Asura's Wraith, RE6, etc. Its just so sad to see whats become of capcom.
Mario Bros. 3 was so great. There didn't need a preview of the game, because of that movie 'The Wizard.'. Lol. Born in '80 and it was a pleasure growing up in the 80s and 90s. Going to the arcade after school was almost an everyday event. 😎
I was born in the perfect time 1979 in the best city in the world Buffalo ny everything today sucks we grew up having to use imagination and.8bit kids today are so different and obnoxious cell phones glued to the hands.even music.sucks today even food man I miss the 80s and 90s greetings from Buffalo ny
I remember these commercials. I Notice these commercials hardly showed the actual GAMES themselves. Hardly is any gameplay footage. Mostly real life people acting out scenes, etc. All glitter. Hardly any content or any footage to show you what the actual game was like.
born in 85, had the privilege to live in the best decade ever: the 90's , no matter how they make these games of nowadays, it's still no match of those of the 90's. why? simplicity and fun factor. Game designers of that time put more effort to make great games, but now its all about the benjamins. so sad
I was born in 1996, remember only 1999, and i remember the commercials, people born now-a-days will in say 10 years learn why i am so sad and happy thinking of my very early childhood, years i can never re-experience
Born in 1983... When Super Mario Bros 3 came out, EVERYONE at my school (well, the boys at least) lost their collective shit, especially those in the higher grades. Even teachers had to tell us to pipe down about the game. I mostly remember the "Console Wars" when kids were either 100% Nintendo or 100% Sega - those few poor saps that fell in the middle weren't liked too much. It was a great time to be a kid!
