22LR CZ 457 PRECISION ELR / PRS BUILD FROM MILD TO WILD (PART 3: KRG BRAVO)

Having put a 16” CZ 457 MTR in a both a KRG and an Oryx, the Oryx is the way to go. Sold my KRG and kept the Oryx. However, with that said, I like the factory stock on the Pro Varmint. It’s both attractive and comfortable.

Since I have the Element 4.0 chassis I’m really looking forward to that video. I have mine set up with the internal weights and then I put on the weighted Arca rail from Area 419. Man does the weight help! Keep up the great videos. 👍

Ely Contact has worked for me at 50 yards really well

The largest improvement that I saw was the much better stability with the bipod vs the bag.

Nice comparison, definitely think additional weight will help.

This is a good example of why experienced shooters ask a newbie who is soliciting recommendations about what their intentions are before offering advice. Weight is important for bench accuracy but sucks if you are hunting and hiking up a steep hillside. As such this illustrates that the KRG isn’t going to gain anything for benchrest accuracy but it’s a good choice if you don’t want to lose anything for a lighter setup to hunt with.

I like the KRG Bravo..more stable with the bipod and your cheek on the riser looked solid...Looking forward to see what barrel you've selected. Does the temperature of the ammo effect the accuracy at 50 or 100 yards? another comment on your aspirin and card shot..simply amazing..180 yards..WOW!!! you may want to double clamp the playing card to get the clean cut..not sure why RU-vid pulled that video... i suspect they're all jealous they can't shoot as good as you. LOL

Excellent vid. I'm thrilled to see you are going to show some other chassis' options. I just put pro varmint in a MDT XRS. It was shooting 0.2's to 0.3's before and after. But, the feel in the heavier MDT chassis was much nicer. If it holds good groups out to 100, I won't be able to justify an aftermarket barrel , but might try it anyway for the play value. Josh, I plan on going with the Ares eventually and Area 419 rail. What rings are you using with the Ares, and what height? thanks Everybody remember to cast your 15 votes each day of the month for Josh at the Gundies !

I’m trying to decide between the bravo, mdt xrs and the oryx. i would love to see a comparison between the xrs and the bravo! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! the gun i’m building is a bench only gun. cheers…

Great stock, but not needed on the CZ. The one for the Ruger 10/22 I think would show improvement in accuracy. Great video, keep at it. Looks like fun! 👍🏻❤️🇺🇸

I wonder if it would shoot some of the more economical ammunition with a before-and-after test like CCI standard maybe the stock change from CZ to KRG... would show a greater Improvement. We know the rifle shoots good groups

Hey brother love the channel trying to get into long range 22 shooting competition stuck on what gun to buy for most accuracy you talk about 3 guns mostly the bergara b14 r the Tikka tx1 or the CZ 457 which is the most accurate in your opinion for the money right out the boxand if the cz is your top choice what variant is more accurate the chassis, mtr or the synthetic stock one if there is a difference at all thanks for the help and what type of scope are you using thar won't break the ank thank you again

Funny thing is that you said the new chassis and trigger is better in not so many words, but you shot better groups with a bone stock version. My experience and teaching has taught me that it's 80-90% the shooter and his level of fundamentals that he has got down and 10% the equipment.

My bet is nothing you will do will make it any more accurate in terms of group size until you change the ammo or barrel, especially since it has a Timney trigger already which is a huge help for the shooter.

What magnification are you shooting that athlon etr at? In the market but it's hard to find through the scope footage. You have the best I've found

I just got min cz457 Varmit pro . I went to adjust trigger and found my screws were not even hand tiight lol tight them 25in pounds shooting sk match like a lazer . Red box

Josh have you ever thought about having your barrel frozen down to 300 below zero? It is suppose to help with accuracy.

How is the Mag well on the KRG? Is it deep or tight? I shot it once and found it odd.

Josh, I have always wanted to ask about Thumb Rest/Gas Peddle etc. How do these help in your shooting. I have always noticed that the more precision shooters always rest their thumbs on rest or right side of the stock.

Will changing from bag to bipod make a difference?

Is there a part 4 with barrel swap? I could only find 1-3.

FWIW Your results with the Eley Match at 50 and 100 yards out of the stock rifle mirrored mine out of save for a Timney HIT trigger my stock steel barrel B14R My B14R shoots both Eley Team and RK match Rifle better than Eley Match which I guess from a economic perspective is a good thing But I have only shot one lot# of Eley Match so far

Hi, what are you using for a bipod? It looks like you have an ARCA rail on the chassis. I’ve been looking for straight ARCA bipod because the pict to arca adapters cost as much as the some bipods. Thanks

Great series of upgrades Josh, looking foward as it progresses. The only thing is buy the end the only CZ parts will be the bolt and receiver. Thats not A CZ 457.

But does the extra weight that you prefer really even matter with a 22? I could agree with you if it was a semi auto, but it's a bolt gun and you have to reset your body every shot so recoil isn't really a factor as far as a follow up shot is concerned. This is all coming from a guy that has never done competition shooting, so there's that

As I had predicted beforehand the stock was going to produce no negligible results in accuracy whatsoever. I don't think the CZ16 inch enjoys shooting Eley match I would implore you to switch to to Sk pistol match for 100 yds testing. Everything groups nice at 50 yds but I'm swearing the pistol match can hold .50 to .75 inch groups at 100 yds in stock configuration all day long!
