Loved this episode, brought back some great memories. My 2nd car was a stock R reg Punto GT, 1.4 turbo, 130bhp, took a few years of modifications but got it to 218bhp before I let it go. Dual boost upgraded turbo, intercooler, cams, clutch, brakes and lines, de-cat straight through to Remus exhaust, ECU mapping, Abarth kit and conversion lights… that was a fun car! GREAT EPISODE!

I had a 1.4 t-jet and I put in the Abarth seats instead of the standard corbeau / sparco seats that he has - look far nicer and I doubt they’re THAT much heavier.. part from that, lovely motor

Remember my first car Mk2 punto, all I did was lower 60mm on standard steel wheels, got rid of the rub strips and badges and fitted a K&N filter. The sound from the filter was incredible lift of throttle and you could hear it suck the air in. It was fast for what it was but think that came from handling rather than speed. Did learn what brake fade was in that car :-o

Abarth Grande Punto on the logbook. Only 570 in the UK from new Only 87 of them were Esse Esse's 180bhp upgrade from Fiat. Abarth Punto EVO Supersport Scorpione 180bhp special run of 10 cars for the UK!

Yes Ricky mate, respect for not forgetting the "affordable" hot hatches. Love how this looks, but it is designed by pininfarina who do the best looking car's. Been looking at these for a while now as love the shape. Keep it up, another Italian hot hatch, Alfa you have to do one at some point.

The whole packege isnt cheap tho. Firts you need an abarth, thosoe can cost 5+K. Then you need a TD04 or at elast GT1446 turbocharger. Full exhaust, legal one costs even more, otherwise mostly straight piped. Injectors, LSD, complete suspension kit, remap and you should be good to go. Always wahted soemthing like this, but never ended up going for it. Engine is on the strong side

If you look after the car you won't run into issues, i had the 1.9 Grande Punto running 200bhp and around 320lb torque had no issues kept it serviced regularly

180 standard stage 1 takes them 200 so yeah.. some hit 250+
