I bought some Fire extinguisher for my shop, but there were no brackets to hang them on the walls. I could order some from Amazon, but it is more fun to make my own stuff.
Always better to be too safe when it comes to fire. It can get out of hand so fast the quicker you can get to an extinguisher the better the outcome will likely be. A friend of mine almost lost his shop when the bbq outside the back door had a huge grease flare up which caught the back wall of the garage on fire. Had it not been for some quick thinking people, a couple of fire extinguishers and a high-volume garden hose the outcome would have been devastating. Those hangers are really trick. Nice job. Be safe and stay well.
I've never noticed your grating tables for metal work and welding thats a great idea too. Now hopefully you'll never need the extinguishers but if so, they'll be where they're accessible.
Hey Loves. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Yeah, I've had those for welding tables for about 4 years now. They work great. I can put my ground clamp on the end of the grate and I don't have to ground clamp my parts. I just set them up over sawhorses and put them away when done.
As a volunteer fire fighter I appreciate you making a video on this topic. One of our volunteers lost his whole shop due to a fire that (if he had multiple fire extinguishers) could have been prevented. After the fire, he joined the department to learn about how to prevent fires and help others in hopes he might save someone else's property.
Hey Wyatt. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. We just can't be too careful. Check out Waylon Wires' mishap. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QNpJBuuXKPI.html
Right get out in the shop and make or build something😁 Great idea having more fire extinguishers can never have enough🧯🧯🧯Need to get myself a few more too. Have a great night Andy 👍🏻
Hey Chris. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Now that I am going to start on my Buick, I thought that I would setup my safety nets. Yeah, get out to the show. Leave that TV alone.
Cool!!! I Have Fire Extinguishers Around The Shop Too!!! Probably Time To Go Give Them A Shake So The Powder Isn't Stuck Together!!! Keep Rocking It Out Brother!!!
Hey Pat. Thanks for dropping by. That's a good idea to tap the bottom of them every 6 months or so. You don't want to grab one and nothing happens. When cutting or welding it's good to have them close.
Nice work Andy, those are great but they make a big mess. Once the thaw comes I keep a charged hose ready when welding or grinding, much less clean up 👍
Hey Glen. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Fire scares me. I have always had 2 extinguishers in the shop, but I wanted to put more up so if I need one I don't have to go around a car or truck. It's a good idea to wait after welding or grinding for sure.
hey Michigan. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Are you off RU-vid? I haven't seen any videos from you in a long time. I hope all is well with you and your family Buddy.
Good idea Andy, shit we had a shop fire at work one day, we emptied 2 fire extinguishers and the fire kept going! Scary shit right there. Thanks for sharing
Hey Frank. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Yeah, I saw that. It was at the same time I was setting up more extinguishers. And you have a wood stove, so you don't know if it's the stove or something else.
