Great additions to the bead roller. Really nice work. And the motor and pedal switch should be the finishing touch. Look forward to seeing more. Be safe and stay well.
Andy, I love that you bought something and made it work better for you. I have seen guys put a flexplate on the handle end and a stepper motor with a foot pedal for control. Look forward to what you do with it. Remember, "Keep on wrenchin'"
Hey Dan. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Yeah, Keep on wrench'n. I have an idea using a garage door opener and bike sprockets. I will see if I can get it working.
Must be bead roller week! I never thought of doing it that way, guess i know what im doing tomorrow. And polishing my bead rolls. I show how i did my motor, posted it today. Thanks for sharing!!!
Great job Andy that's going to make it much stronger and easier to operate. You got some great ideas keep up the good work in the shop. Take care brother 👍🏻
Hey Chris. Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. It's fun doing other things rather than just fixing cars/trucks. Make the mind work in a different way.
Hey Bubba. . Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. It's nice to see ya. I haven't seen you around much. Where did you go? Yeah, I hope to get to the Buick soon. But I have other stuff that I have to get out of my way first.
Hey Bob. . Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. It's a pleasure having you watch and comment on one of my videos. I watch all of your videos and you sure do inspire me to get out in my shop a do stuff as well. Stay tuned and I will show you what I will do with my bead roller on the 1940 Buick.
Hey Glen. . Thanks for dropping by the Dog House. Well, I think if a fella doesn't put too much pressure on the roller you don't have to beef it up. But who wants to take 4, 5 passes when you can do it in one or two.
think i'll go add these mods to mine. i have plans to add a motor using a timing set from my jeep and a reverser switch with a non latching foot activated power switch. but i think the auto lift would be really helpful to add beforehand
Does that make it stiff enough Andy? I used square tube on the side of my bead roller.I controll it with a turkey feeder gearbox and a 1/2 inch reverible drill with a teeter totter swith for forward and reverse. I like your spring Idea to hold the dies open.Look up Fitzees Fabrication. He went all out on his build .Karl Fisher: Make it Custom is a good guy to watch for metal shaping too! Lasse and Wray Shelin at geniuses when it comes to metal shaping.
