@@marcellowheeler88 it's a 4000 dollar car with a 2500 dollar turbo kit. How much money are you really talking here? With wheels, tires, clutch, suspension, etc. You can have a street car that obviously beats down everything for way less than 15k total including the cost of the car.
@@merc6 his motor is also built. He has a few grand into it. I'm not saying it's a bad motor to mod. I'm saying it cost alot to make them fast compared to other cars. That's why you don't see many built to the extent this guy has.
it's a 79-04 sound mostly IMO... the mufflers placed further in with the long tail pipes give it a badass sound. I've had a 96, a couple of 04s, all sounded great. My 13 and my 18 don't sound that cool - with their mufflers right at the back...
They are a couple of hundred lbs lighter than the s197 5.0 but now you can see the difference between a turbo and a s/c, specially on roll races. Good wins
@@rodolfoem2011 Couple hundred pounds lighter stock, and there's a lot more weight that can be easily taken out of them, thanks in part to the much higher aftermarket... everything from the idiotic dog bone on the rear diff, to full on tubular front ends and light weight dashes, lol...
Love seeing original builds, everyone is either LS or coyote swapping nowadays. I own a 2013 fbo 700+hp Roush and a 2003 cammed 2v. Honestly the New Edge is my favorite platform!
since when is building a 4.6 an original build though? what do you think people were building in the 90s and 2000s? lol everyones just moved on to better stuff cause its 2019 not 1999.
@Skip R yes much much better, why spend thousands trying to make an old ratty 2v new edge mustang do anything well you could buy a newer coyote powered mustang for example that does everything 10X better out of the box and goes much faster easily. Sure you can make anything fast but meh, can put a coyote into the 9s over the weekend these days if you know what you are doing
Awesome! My 01 bullitt is supercharged. Eaton blower same as a 03/04 cobra. Stock internals. Love that there is one or two others out there still driving them and have forced induction. Mine still only has 41,000 miles on her.
Really nice..... I miss my 2 valve .....CTS V’s are fun but .....gotta luvs does 2 valves ....good job with yours keep does videos coming...!!!...!!..!.
I've got a 4v 4.6. It's a 04 mach 1 I'm making about 550 to the wheels on 8 pounds. And I have a built t5 transmission. I haven't turned it up yet because it has a stock bottom end. I run past ctsv and corvettes all day. It's fun watching others do the same.
I have always liked the 2v but to make power air has to be forced into those heads, it's almost like they never were ment to be on a n/a engine. One has to remember that the 4.6 is only a 281 ci engine and with a fair amount of boost one can see impressive gains.
Tempting to turbo by 01 2v but with bolt ons and a custom tune I am at around 300 to the wheels. Best 1/4 is 13.7 best 0 to 60 is 5.8 seconds. Keeps up with my buddys 2016 3.7 liter no problem.his car was $28 000 mine was $6200 Canadian so I am pretty happy.
Btw subscribed 1st time an I just got mine back a 2000 gt I wanted to go with supercharger or turbo but mainly wanted to turbo it so would love some info on how I can maintain this type of power
That is something...taking a 2 valve and beating a hellcat...my hat off 2 you...people always knocking 3valve s197 but I'm building my wife's 06 gt I could coyote swap but the motor only has 43k miles 1 owner car before we got it...it had 18k when we purchased it...
@Richard Kistner I have lots of respect for car enthusiast that actually work on their cars....growing up me my dad and my brother worked on our own cars we were a bunch of poor boys that wanted to go fast, I worked my ass off and put all my $ into my 78 Pontiac Phoenix coupe in high school started with a 400 short block had help from my uncle which was a mechanic,it took me 3 years just to get it to fire up, parts ain't cheap, my brother was working on a 87 Porsche 944, my old man had a c10 that ran like hell...I'm financially stable I can go purchase a modern sport car with zero down payment, but I haven't had a car payment for over 10 years, most of my $ goes into remodeling my house, from my lawn renovation to interior and I do the labor myself I've learned to be independent from my dad at a young age especially coming from the slums of Monterrey Mx,made me the person I am today, I will always stick to my roots and prefer to build a car than to go buy one nothing against those guys but I enjoyed working on cars and getting my hands dirty...the hellcat with a longer stretch would definitely creep past the mustang, but still impressive for what the car is and the craftsmanship that went in the mustang to run against mopar beast
Liked the video. Cars look like they pull pretty hard. Been building a lightning swap 03.. cant wait to get some videos up with some pulls . But yea great video
Any more details on the bullit? Hp numbers? And hp #'s on that 5.4 4v? I'm currently in the process of swapping a 5.4 4v from a navigator into my new edge also.
I love how tiny a New Edge/SN95 looks next to a Challenger (or any current Mustang/Camaro). My dad has a 99 Cobra and and 16 Hellcat and the hellcat makes the cobra look like a Corolla. 😂
Got a question for ya. Got a 4v I'm putting an on3 kit on, are you still running a returnless fuel setup? Really not trying to spend 2k on fuel rails. I'm aiming for 650whp all said and done
I'm confused. At the end of any race, aren't you supposed to drop it in neutral, then shake the shifter left to right and back a few times to reset the transmission..or is it different with v8 motors?
Im in the process of building my bottom end right now and am going with an On 3 kit as well...Did you change out anything from the kit, like wastegate, blowoff, oil filter relocate, turbo? Your car seems to run solid...
People say that you can't get any power from a 2v but I made around 450 hp at the wheels with mine and it didn't take a lot of money to get me there and it was still the stock bottom end
