I believe it is required in Japan to make claims processing efficient in dense population areas; in Italy they do it apparently just because of the extreme regularity and nonchalance of smaller bumps and scrapes, followed by energetic physical gestures.
I know why that Russian driver didn't react to the meteor. He couldn't see it. The camera is right up near the windshield and on the dashboard, so it's not being blocked by the roof of the car. The driver's head is in a place where he can't see that meteor because his line-of-sight to it is blocked entirely by the roof of the car. He didn't react because he didn't even know it was there.
Eric Rocha In soviet and in modern Russia there is no police, there is militia. If you don't realise what the diference is, then be glad of your ignorance, peolpe say it's a bliss. They are nice bunch really, especially when beating the soul out of a smart asses like you in the basemen of their department. Talking about a police brutality...
Brazil is crazy lol. I had a friend doing mission work down there and when her phone got stolen the mission told her to go to the local gang instead of the cops. The funniest thing was that they had her phone back in about an hour.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get this impression that larger countries tend to be more... er, how do you say... fucked up. China, Russia, Brazil and the US immediately come to mind.
+Cash Money Samuels `Yeah, you're right. Corrupted brazil.. Depressed Russia.. Destroyed China and Materialist anti social US are all very healthy nations..
I like the Brasilian cops. They are very pragamatic. Why should they take someone into custady, when that person is set free again after half a day? All that paperwork and trouble for nothing.
captainbackflash for the most part they're corrupt and incompetent. Not wanting to kiss the USA's ass, but here's a video comparing an american police officer to a high-ranking member of the military police force of Brazil.
if the meteor thing happened in the US, people would be screaming and running, obese people everywhere dragging themselves across the ground, guns being fired, people crashing their cars, houses and shops smashed into etc etc. meanwhile in russia everyone calmly goes on with their day.
"Russian motors use dash cams to crack down police corruption and make sure justice is served ." , yeah, because the police always love to stand before the car do their "corruption business" , or loves to use loud language only to ask for bribe so the microphone can record it down . It is for accident evidence recording , so the police have something to reference to when accident happens , and anti-thief/anti-vandalism , all Chinese cars have it too , i don't know why USA motors don't have them .
+Di Dxpeo Yes and no. The front facing dash cams are for insurance purposes, but many cars also have side-facing cams that record policemen. It's not used to prove anything, it's just that when the cop sees the camera he suddenly remembers to mind his manners among other things. Oh and the microphone on those things is pretty good so the conversation is always loud and clear.
+Di Dxpeo we don't really worry about the things shown in the video here in America compared to Russia and China and a majority of other countries. Americans are very safe drives we have a tons of strict driving laws. You have to pass a drivers safety test about every 5 years (driving licences are cheep here). if you break driving laws then your likely to get your licences revoked or pay fines and driving without a licence = Jail time. if someone jump in front of a car in the states they would be seen as crazy or drunk. the person who got hit wanted money in a law suite would have to have gotten hit in a crosswalk if they wanted to win in most states or they get in trouble for a crime we call Jaywalking. I understand why he said police corruption because that's the main reason why Americans get dash cam. In resent years we have a lot of problems with police brutality and police doing shady things that are against our laws because they get more tax money and pay raises when they give out more arrest. Add to that, culturally Americans rarely resort to or accept bribery . So if a police officer wants to arrest you he's going to arrest you no matter how much you plead. dash cams are taken very seriously in american court we're starting to force police to have them in cars and let them record 24/7 . the dash cams work because the police have to arrest you in a very specific and have to have undeniable proof that you committed a crime way or else the arrest won't count even if it's obvious you broke the law.
***** I was mostly joking and looking for a excuse to say "Kung Fu Fighting" I understand every place has a dark if not seedy underbelly, China included.
I spent a month in a town about an hour outside of Shanghai for work last year. I can confirm that they're traffic ninjas. Bicycles, bicycle carts, motor scooters, motorbikes, pedestrians, and cars engaged in this hypnotic/terrifying dance at every intersection.
I thought the reason for Russians having dashboard cameras was because insurance fraud is such a problem in the country. Though it could be what he said in the video as well I suppose.
It's all of that and more. Another reason would be to have a solid evidence in your favor when you get into an accident - the insurance firms are even stingier with their money than in US (If that's even possible)
As a Brazilian, I beg everyone NOT to come here for the Olympics and World Cup, YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE. It isn't worth it, you people from developed nations have super TV and internet to watch it from home anyway, save the cash and wait for a better and safer host country. You'll see it on the news soon enough what a terrible idea going to these events here would be.
Goodspittin As a foreigner living in Moscow, yeah, it's not very dangerous here. ...so long as you don't drive on the roads anywhere. But loads of people don't drive on the roads exactly.
arent all countries beside the one you live in forign ? Then why the fuck would you say foreign in title when its already about 3 different countries ?
Being born in Brazil, with an American dad, I think I can give my opinion on not only my native country, but the USA also. I agree with your points of views regarding my nation`s police. They are ill prepared and act on impulse, and in most cases all these wild shoot-outs lead to the demise of innocent bystanders. Death has become a joke in my country, whether it being the lynching of rapists or soccer fans trying to kill one another with home-made bombs. All in all, my country is a dangerous place, like all countries, even though only a slight group can afford bullet-proof windows in their cars, and pay to live in fancy, expensive and high security condos. But let's not forget that the US does not stick that far behind in creating fear and danger; just go through any airport there and it will make you feel like you are constantly being watched, invaded in sort of way, and whatever you do might betray you (being innocent or not) or put you under supervision. I think that is where the true hoplesness lies. At least in Brazil they are straigh up honest about abusing their powers (shooting then asking questions) and persuading you into not wanting to leave your house, whereas the United States of America there seems to be false view of democracy, public safety and liberty of its citizens.
I agree!! When people say, "No, American government is good, it's better then the Middle East!". American government is NOT better then middle-eastern government, because middle-eastern citizens are AWARE that their government is killing people and infringing all their rights!
***** Thanks for that. But now I´m confused... is it a democratic-republic or a constitutional republic? It´s funny how there´s no agreement on what type of government rules the country, meaning that few actually know what´s going on...
I've never felt in danger in a American airport. Contrary to popular belief, the tsa doesn't want a terrorist attack. Do I think all their methods are necessary or effective? No. But they aren't allowed to arrest or shoot you just because they think you look sketchy.
2nd video: the guy escapes from the accident because his car is likely illegal, or it is not his car, or he himself doesn't want to meet with policemen for some reason.
RogueBishop89 i think he means that the 3 countries in the vid are foreign to americans and alot of countries if u think about it but i am sure thats what he meant
+Mohammed Alshawi Ahhh, my mistake. There have been a few people in other comments thinking this video is just about Americans making fun of other countries or somehow saying we're better than them. Not usually the sort of people who follow Cracked, lol.
What i meant was that even tough this countries on the video obviously have problems ( I am brazilian) , the guy on the video talked like he only had american people watching, and that is sort of douchey.
Kyle Stamps Keep thinking that..... while all your rights are taken away. How's that local Citizenship checkstop going? More and more Police disappear as military makes it's way in. America is lost man.
I havent even seen or heard of "citizenship checkstops" but they SHOULD have them. Its not hard to prove citizenship. And as far as "the police disappearing and the military moving in" i dont even know what youre talking about. If americas so bad, then move to another country. Were better off without nutjobs like you. Take your tinfoil hat off while youre at it. Its cutting circulation to your head.
Kyle Stamps Take your dunce cap off bud. While you're at it maybe open your eyes. Do a quick search on how corrupt those "officers" working the check stops are. You think it's a good idea? How is it you suppose Nazi Germany happened? It was by inches. People like you who walk around like brain dead morons thinking you have CONTROL over your Government annoy me.
Kyle Stamps Why should I be grateful to be shot in my back? Or die "mysteriously" while in police custody? American police kill more people than any other police force in the world. More people were killed by American police than American soldiers killed in the Mideast or people died during 9/11. Your country is fucked up.
Oh, Brazil. What brazilian would I be without some crazy shit with that kind of police? Oh wait, we do not have decent cops. The government are not paying them.
You cannot judge police actions on that way. I need to know the previous moments who reach those consequences. A driver that no obey police orders and uses the car against the agents and people's safety must be stopped. They were justified in any place of the world.
The voice! The needlessly rap soundtrack...! ... You're the Editor-In-Chief of Cracked, of Cracked Podcast and Cracked.com online comedy magazine fame! Oh my stars... Could someone gently and seamlessly let me know how late was I making my visual acquaintance of this creature, much better looking for the image that his voice alone would suggest? Oh, and splendid work on the millenials episode. Tremendous stuff. That, and the one when you got Swaim to tell the story of his drug induced erectile dysfunction in the desert was pretty nifty too.
Ok. If you smash Russia's fortitude in the face of "OH, SHIT!", the Australian outbacks dangerous animals, and Brazil's police force together, you get Night Vale. Good to know.
Oh. My goodness. First of all, someone who knows Night Vale, so, you know... yay. :3 Second of all, that is totally right! I was thinking that about the police force as soon as I saw the helicopter.
Bridget NicRiobard Its so weird finding people who listen to night vale outside of our little spaces and such. We are a rare and difficult to study breed. If I could grow up in any fictional world ( if I diddnt get powers) I would choose night vale because they are not phased by anything! You would be tough as nails. Also, you like hetalia?
Emily Black I know, right? It's like, you read the fics and you see the fanart and you feel like there must be hundreds of people out there who love it just like you... but then, that only ever seems to be the truth on the internet. Out in the real world, you're just that weird person who still listens to radio dramas. XD And yes, I love Hetalia! It's my main fandom!
Bridget NicRiobard yes, we may be a small fandom, but we are... exhuberent. Radio dramas are awesome. Too bad they are becoming a relic. Do you know where I can watch axis powers? They took it off of netflix when I was half way through.
Emily Black :) That is exactly how I'd say it. The fans are relatively few, but we take up more space than we strictly ought to. XD Oh, no, I'm sorry... I managed to watch it all on Netflix before they took it off! My best advice would be to get your hands on one of the discs, but other than that I'm not the person to go to.
+Terri Bel Bliss I mean, we all make jokes about Chicago, but I'm from a suburb of Chicago and have family in the city. Really, the South side is where you get shot. The North side/downtown is where it's like any other city except with better pizza (on par with New York pizza)
mazdaplz Maybe I just found a really good place then. No, the measuring stick I use is places in Chicago like Gino's East and Lou Malnati's and Dimo's. Really good pizza.
Don't think brazilian police is fucked up, brazilian justice system is fucked up. The reason why brazilian police sometimes has to resort to ruthless methods is because the legal system keep putting back on the streets the criminals that the police arrested. I saw once in the news a salesman complaining that his store was robbed by the same guy 3 times, and he saw that criminal being arrested at least twice, and yet he manages to go back to the streets to rob some more people. That guy was enthusiatic about the police gunning down a criminal because for him, that meant the police was giving a shit about public safety. Anyway, have fun at the olympics! I didn't want the olympics to be held here, but the government made that decision for us. Personally, I think we just attracted ISIS to our lands.
i'm brazilian and brazilian police (the only military one to patrol on the streets in the entire South América) is indeed fucked up! Here, their Law seems pretty clear. if you're poor and black, you're automatically guilty
Brazilian everything it's fucked up. For the last +20 years our Police are still acting in Death Squads to make social clean in the benefit of politicians and business. People are taught in the news, in the schools and streets that this is the only way to keep the country safe, and that the people being killed are not human beings at all, just an sub race. From WWII untill this day, Brazil still keep some close relation with the Nazi regime ideas. Kids, and that is a pretty common thing in all the territory, learn that the blond blue-eyed people are better and smatter, for an example.
+Didi Andrade - That is no excuse for shooting recklessly into a crowd of innocent people to stop one person. They are very poorly trained. This is why the Brazilian police kill so many innocent people, like the five teenage boys from Costa Barros killed in their car with 111 shots without even asking them to stop. Just because they were black (i.e. - looked like gangstas). In another country, this would be a national scandal. In Brazil, it barely makes the news because it is another day, another police murder.
Yep. We'll just look on the internet for all of the amazingly horrifying videos from North Korea. Oh wait. Please don't tell me you are from the U.S., and if you are, please learn to not flaunt your ignorance.
Calico C I'm from England. North Korea are the most corrupt, despicable and unnerving country on earth. They don't have any videos because they do not allow the internet. It is banned in North Korea. You get 15 years minimum and possible execution for owing a foreign newspaper. I don't know where you got this view from but please sort that shit out because it ill-befits you and is frankly depressing to see such hypocritical ignorance.
+Thomas Mason, that is what I was getting at. This video is showing videos. You seemed to be complaining that North Korea was not highlighted in this video, and if I was wrong then forgive me. In my comment I was pointing out that non-propaganda videos of North Korea are few and far between. Yes, some do exist, I have seen some, however there are far more videos of other countries, and that is why this video focused on those instead.
Calico C If you really thought she was complaining about the lack of North Korea videos here, you obviously didn't read her first comment. Oh, and nice job generalizing Americans too, you self-important shithead.
JRPGrinder Hey remember if your American be sure to talk about how much you love barbecue and Texas lets not forget that we must all have that stupid accent and wonder what dem Chinese look like
Dwarven Gaming I didn't think airsoft was the same, just taking a guess. Maybe in actual warfare people just see an enemy and unload an entire mag into them. I dunno.
Marcos Socram yes, they faild about the btazilian videos, they didn't dothered to search about what is going on in the there, they just assumed... The girl with the hammer was just publicity stuff for a TV series, and the police chase with the helicopter was over dangerous bank robbers. So, big fail in there.
legit, I was stuck in traffic with my parents in Brazil and there was a crazy (pretty sure he was on crack or speed or something) guy trying to climb out of the window of a cop car in bumper to bumper traffic. And one of the cops in the car just steps out and starts jamming the crazy guy's head back in through the window. This goes on for almost 15 minutes and the crazy guy is just screaming about justice or something, and the rest of us rubberneckers are just staring and trying to get decent video of what the heck was going on.
On a second note, NO someone getting shot at by a helicopter in Brazil is NOT scary. Everyone knows there are bandits and general criminals all over Brazil, and most of them don't even get caught so this is just some sweet justice that we might be lucky enough to catch on our way home from work.
Cristina M my roomate went to brazil on his mission, is it true you have a special task force that will just kill drug lords and what not he said he saw a guy with a big sniper on a roof just shoot a gun towards an area with a kite, which he explained is like a signal for drug deals... they should change their signal since everyone knows about it.
woodlefoof2 yeah I think there's a task force that there to deal with mafia and drug market issues (it's not some much taking out drug lords, but a whole umbrella faction that deals with all that crazy stuff). It's not flaunted around on the news or anything because everything is delicate and secret and dangerous (I really only know about this because of a documentary I watched in the US). As for the kite thing, I lived in Sao Paulo and it's very common to see kites flying around because kids fly kites for fun, so if that was their signal it's a pretty inconspicuous one. Just hiding in plain site really. And congrats on your roommate's mission! Did he have fun?
I've been told that in some countries, if you're a passenger in the car after an accident--even if you're in the back seat of a taxi--you can be treated as responsible for what happened. So, seeing somebody jump out of a car crash and run like hell is more-or-less commonplace and the only appropriate response to that situation.
Russia dash cams are scary watched one video where they drove into a river and just had a what seemed like a causal conversation as though nothing had happened.
