What you are actually harping on has more to do with variance from product to product rather than product design reliability. The dagger design is fine. What isn’t is the variance from one unit to the next which results in some guns running without issue and others being terrible. In either case, the golden prerequisite for the decision to carry a gun should be have you shot it extensively and has that individual weapon proven its reliability to you.

Honestly I agree here. Saving up for a Glock 19 for edc. But I’m glad you make a clear distinction between “defense gun” and “range gun”. Not many guys on RU-vid make that distinction and act like every gun you own must be a SHTF gun.

new price on the Daggers is less than half of what it cost to buy any of those guns new. I have several and also have all the guns you threw on the table. I will put my Daggers (new) up against any of these used paper weights. If you carry every day, the XD's are like carrying a boat anchor around your waist. I ankle carried the XD subcompact for a while when I was young and stupid. No offense, but this video is misleading and not cool at all. "Three reasons to not buy a Dagger". You are just pumping all your used pistols that are no longer in production and there are SO much better options for carry today than these bricks. Unsubscribed. You are pandering for clicks and views. Go play with Yankee Marshall.

@Tsand4
@Tsand4 3 месяца назад
Th reason Glocks don’t have problems is because it’s the same pistol that came out in the early 80s literally the exact same. It better not have any issues after 40 years. But Glock is scared to innovate because they know reliability is all they have. Just like Toyota of the car world. Other firearm brands actually take chances and innovate that benefits all firearm owners. They might have some hiccups on the way in the beginning but they get ironed out. But atleast they have the balls to actually innovate. And saying 50% of p365’s all have problems is bologna you pulled that number out your ass.
@Front-Toward-Enemy
@Front-Toward-Enemy Месяц назад
Innovation means nothing if your products are riddled with QC issues. And, in the case of the PSA Aks, made incorrectly. While Glocks lack of innovation can be boring, it’s still better than being so innovative that you don’t perfect your products.

You say daggers are "budget" firearms. What specifically makes them "budget" other am than the price. Meaning what quality sacrifices were made? As far as i was aware, they're identical to Glock 19 Gen 3. I've thrown hundreds of rounds through my dagger and have never had a malfunction, failure to feed or eject, or any issue. Does the cost of a firearm definitively dictate the quality?

@Santaheckler

He didn’t say that. He said you don’t “need” a red dot. It’s simply not mandatory for CQC. Some tactical shooters don’t even use rear sights these days, or they’ll use the blacked out rears. Again, they’re not mandatory for CQC. You can still put a dot on an non MOS Glock though, use a Dovetail base plate. 😎👍

@AudioGardenSlave123
@AudioGardenSlave123 3 месяца назад
@@MikoFiticusI'd say it's 100% true. You won't be using iron sights either cause you'll be point-shooting. The only time you'll use any sights is when you have cover, aren't currently being shot at, and when you know fairly well where the threat is and you have your wits collected. Most people think they'll be John Rambo, but the fact is that you'll be spraying and praying with your first mag in a firefight. Even if you get the red dot up you won't be using it to aim cause you'll be throwing rounds rapidly. The only use it will serve, if any, is to give you a reference for your cone of fire. Don't delude yourself.
@MikoFiticus
@MikoFiticus 3 месяца назад
@@AudioGardenSlave123 Neither one is 100% true. Have you been in a DGU? Probably not. I haven't. "spraying and praying" gets you into legal consequences. That one dude who shot that active shooter at the mall probably wished he had a dot. He got it done, but he absolutely aimed deliberately. To just say 100% of the time you won't look down sights is just plain stupid. Same with saying you will use your sights 100% of the time. The truth is somewhere inbetween. Spend time and train.

Good video brother. I'll be posting my 10k round review on my Dagger soon, I just don't have a good camera setup I agree, just save up a little more and get a used Glock or M&P, something that has a proven track record. I mean the dagger is a Glock gen 3 clone, built here in the states rather than overseas. I don’t know that I fully get behind the idea of advising someone buy a used gun over a brand new Glock clone due to reliability or consistency. Depending on what the previous owner changed or messed with, that may or may not be true. And the whole notion that people don’t need a red dot for self defense is almost like the 1911 fudds talking about how you don’t need a tacticool weapon light for a defense handgun.

I really want to like your channel, but I can't completely agree with a Glock fan boy (aka, SPN Firearms). Nothing very helpful was shared, tbh. While I agree the PSA Dagger isn't as reliable as the Glock, it's made to be bugdet friendly (unlike Glocks). But you can solve alot of your complaints by merely replacing parts in the Dagger with Glock OEM parts, for example, the firing pin. I'm tired of hearing you complain about how guns, including the Dagger, are not just like your "perfect" Glock.

if you dont have the 500$+ for a new glock he gave the example of buying an older used one. for 300 whatever dollars he paid for it. you get the glock reliability for a cheap price. i believe that's the point he was trying to make. i think you'd end up spending more money buying a dagger for 350$ then swapping Glock parts into it. But I agree with you, not everything needs to be glock, I think an STR-9C would be a better choice for the price than a dagger, however.

Active self protection John can’t stand when yall say you’re not using your sights in self defense lol. Not every scenario is face to face so it’s better to prepare for distance because then you’re ready for close encounters as well, then even at close distance you still want to see your sights which is where red dots are far superior. Look at the dude who just got killed by getting ran over. He was shooting at a dude sitting in a truck 5 feet away and missed all 5 shots because he didn’t look at sights and was point shooting. Side note - if you vet your gun, you’re fine. I’ve had a dagger slide on a Glock frame for a year and have about 3k through it without experiencing a single malfunction to date. The psa dagger is every bit as reliable as a Glock... as long as you do your own quality control and utilize psa's excellent customer service. Glocks warranty their guns for 1 year, psa is for life. The dagger sometimes has some sent out that aren't so great. Go out shooting, make sure it's functioning, and if it is it's good. The dagger is as good, or better, than a Glock... from a certain point of view.

Glock has had issues over the years that shouldn't simply be glossed over. Glock had issues with the dual recoil springs and had recalls, especially in the G26. Early Glocks, like mine, tend to show significant wear on the frame rails and develop the "droop" over the years. I'd also like to point out that other designs, like the Walther p99 and it's copies (MagnumResearch,Canik,etc.) have been selected by multiple countries over Glocks because of the one fatal flaw many striker-fired handguns have. If the strike channel becomes blocked or something prevents the strike from being released, the handgun cannot be field-stripped by normal means. 99% of the time that is not an issue. When you have a serious malfunction during a competition or in a serious situation, that 1% can be a deciding factor. Lord forbid there is a serious jam! Glocks are very reliable. They are not "Perfection" though. Again, as a fan boy, I love mine; I'm just being honest. 2. Springfield XD, XDMs, XD mod 2s can be excellent. They are based on the Croatian HS2000 and are fantastic if you can get over the grip safety and the ridiculously high bore axis. They are very robust and have an established aftermarket. They also come in a variety of colors that took many other manufacturers a while to start selling. Just my 2 cents over the years.

@@Front-Toward-Enemy Trust the Croatian military and Police that have used the HS2000 with decades of service. Then, simply look at the aftermarket here in the States and the fanbase surrounding the platform. If someone is unable to simply pay attention to the world around them, I don't care if they don't trust me. They are willfully ignorant and there are others I'd rather spend time helping. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink"

@@TheColosiss Yeah, you over paid for a rebranded product. I remember when Springfield got the contract to import those pistols. The upped the price $200 and only gave you an extra magazine to compensate for it. And many more militaries and Police departments are using Glocks and Sigs.
@TheColosiss
@TheColosiss Месяц назад
@@Front-Toward-Enemy 1st. I don't own any XD platform, I've just worked on multiple and have had many people smoke me in 3-gun with them. I simply said they can be an excellent platform. 2nd. Now you're jumping to comparisons to avoid the base data and the conversation at hand. If you're going to troll post, at least do it somewhat coherently. But just to humor your logical fallacies, let's look at Glock. If you had read my initial post, you'd see that I own an old G17 with many rounds through it. Glock was a marketing genius and sold many contracts to build the brands reputation. Using the designs success in Austria, Glock used that springboard to sell more products abroad VERY EARLY in the life of polymer firearms. Glocks are not perfect however. Otherwise, there wouldn't be 5 generations with slight internal improvements with each iteration. Glocks also have gone up in price. So I don't get what your point is. Now let's look at Sig. Sig had a reputation with the 226,229, etc. amongst other designs. When the new modular-design requirements were put forth, Sig brought back the 250 design and made it the 320 as a striker-fired. Sig won the military contracts and ramped up production. With the success of the platform, Sig easily made many contracts and had the tooling to do so. The Sig 320 wasn't perfect. Sig has since upgraded the internals of the 320 series to improve drop safety. Now, the 320 series has a better trigger, more colors, and more accessories than before. The point is that very very few platforms are perfect when they are introduced. Analyzing the individual data is how designs improve. Using other platforms as a comparison without doing any reflection doesn't help improve the design in question. Which brings us back to the original design in question the HS2000/XD series. Springfield needed to add something to their handgun line. Instead of directly copying Glock like Smith&Wesson did, which resulted in a lawsuit, Springfield opted to do what many other companies were doing and looked for another design elsewhere. The HS2000 was obscure, but beloved by the Croatians. Springfield took the design and ran with it. There are many designs around the globe that are fantastic but were only adopted by a few nations or weren't adopted by anyone at all. Some of them are successes, flops, and the successes again. One perfect example is the Walther P99. Success under Walther, flop under Smith&Wesson, moderate success under MagnumResearch, and then a huge success under Canik. To reinforce the simple point I already stated. The XD platform CAN BE an excellent one. That's not flawless. That's not "perfection". That means it will work and has an established aftermarket and leaves room to have fun at the range. Disagree? I no longer care. I don't have anymore time to waste on those unwilling or unable to learn from history or the world around them. I can lead a horse to water but I cannot make them drink it.

I personally feel better with my Dagger and TP trigger than my G17 or Walther PPX. I have actually had more issues with my G17 and PPX than my Dagger and the new Dagger I built from a friend's old frame.

My 3 Daggers run flawlessly. I like the Dagger more than my G19 Gen 3. Replacement parts for the Dagger are offensively cheap btw 😂 and why carry a subcompact with a full size mag and call that extended? Makes no sense just get a full size firearm and call it a day. And Daggers can be modified to shoot other calibers... at least until the 10mm and .45ACP Daggers drop, if they drop.
