3000gt stealth Click click no start/crank, quick fixes and causes 

Thank you!!!! I have a 97 3000GT and for two years I’ve been playing a slot machine to get it to start. Changed the starter out for nothing, then found your video and you nailed it on the head! It was a small screw that came loose in the back of the key ignition. I tightened it and it started right up 😁. Can’t say thank you enough! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I did the click click start Hotwire mod 15 years ago and my car has been good to go since.

Thank you for sharing. You helped solve my problem. It turns out just the screw on the ignition switch sensor was loose as you stated, I tightened back on and it solve the problem.

My gt just started doing this (one click but no start but it will bump start and run every time) battery is pretty new and I have a feeling it’s not the starter ...volt gauge showing normal voltage on battery too, so now I have a list to go thru, you are amazing for this and (NOTHING against females at all) they could easily be into cars and just as good if not better than guys w them .. but it’s just known fact that not as many are into cars for whatever reason but anyways love this vid fr haha I didn’t even know this much about my gt yet but I know that it takes time and passion to learn a lot about a certain car or cars in general. I got some work ahead of me and still learning about mine so this was cool to watch and hopefully helps me chase down my issue keep it up and I’m subscribing!

The CAPS are very important to know they are electrolytic DC Polarity sensitive type caps. easy to replace, but, improper soldering techniques will wreck the board

Really good informative video. The person that comes to mind in this video is that you're Sexybluelady on 3si lol. But one thing I learned to do to quickly diagnose the click click start issue, is run two insulated wire, one connected to the positive terminal of the battery and the other wire connected to the starter solenoid wire via alligator clips. When you touch the two together with the key in the on position, it should start.

every time i go to crank, i get nothing. But if i jump my car, it would without a problem. I'm sure i have a healthy battery too. So i think it has to do with the starter solenoid not getting enough power. What are your thoughts?

hello i have 93 ES turns over dose not start then sometimes starts runs for 20 seconds then the mfi relays clicks and as soon as it does it shuts off. then no start ..leave it for awhile starts up again then does exact same thing. gonna try looking at the ecu here

My 94 stealth rt has no spark. I've replaced so much. Timing. Ptu. Coil pack. Start. Battery. Crank sensor. Not the cam sensor yet tho. Any ideas?

I am a new owner of one and I have had to replace the sending unit, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and the list goes on. I have never dreamed of owning one, but I have fallen in love with it. Now i need to know everything there is on how to work on it. Please keep uploading videos on this if you could. Hopefully you still own the car. Thank you again. Th3 net has been no use for me. Tomorrow I'm going to hopefully change out the gold box and Maybe get my car running once again. Just did a GTO swap on my 92 TT 3k. The Japanese harness had a few differences. I fixed that problem for the most part. I replaced the ignition switch, fuel pump relay, starter relay and removed the security relay. It will crank, but I'm still not getting fuel or spark..

Quick question have a 91 dodge stealth rt non turbo 92xxx miles car will crank that it. Try hard wiring the fuel pump it click on but still no start if spray starter fuild it fire for a sec.

Lots of good info for sure. But easiest way to fix problem is just connect wire to starter switch side. Run wire back to push button toggle switch inside car. Run power wire to battery. Then you can just turn switch on. Press button and car starts perfect everytime! By passes all the other possible issues. Back to the basics is always simple and clean. 😁

I have a 95 3000gt , bought it about two months ago with no problems . About a month ago it started to not start sometimes and start fine others . I replaced the battery , and the starter relay and still nothing. ( the black mount on the fuse box for the starter relay is not mounted, when you try to remove the starter relay the mount comes up with the relay. Its also missing the little gold connector inside pin 87A or 86, the second pin you mentioned while explaining how you can jump the pins to diagnose the bad wires or connection under the starter relay) jumping the car does not work , but pop or push starting it does . Any suggestions would be great

sometimes the starter gets stuck so what I do is that I quickly flick the run on ignition key until it does a rotation then it starts normally

nice video, i just bought one of these and followed your video and guess what?? still no start :( the guy before me wired in a push switch that is supposed to start the car but it doesnt. My starter is good, the starter relay is good all fuses are good but still wont start with starter relay jumped with a wire. I can get the starter to spin with a screwdriver but i just dont know why it wont crank with the button. weird thing is, when i turn the key to try to start it (even though it doesnt work) my heat and heat display screen turns off as well as the lights on the wheel buttons. Do you have any ideas on what i can try? I still havent even driven this car yet. Its a 5 speed

Ive got an issue with my 91 stealth, got spark, air and fuel. My ECU was rebuilt before i got it. changed the MAF, TPS, cam sensor, and fuel relay in the car and i hear it clicking so i know its not that. I also took my fuel filter off and its clean when the fuel comes out and its not even old of a filter as well but i still wanted to double check it. Ive also changed the coil pack, PTU, plug wires. My timing is on the money as well. Ive checked the connections to the injectors and there on there like they should be but still nothing and im running out of ideas to trouble shoot mine. I smell fuel in my car and back fires here and there or it kick the car over for second and keeps cranking. Got a fairly new battery as well and turns pretty fast but still not enough to run the car. i just got my car last Saturday. The only thing I havent checked was the security relay....could that be my problem? please reply back need help with mine so i can get it on the road.

What piping are you using for the turbos?

If the airbags deployed will this also keep the vehicle from starting? Thanks

Thank you, you are the shit. question my 95 vr4 looks as if someone went mad and pulled and spliced ever which wire together under drivers fuse box an panels. Weird black box 1"× 2"L with dial that was stashed deep up under steering wheel panel, deff aftermarket but idk wtf it is? I do have aftermarket radar from 90's could it be that. Second thought wouldn't be surprised if it opens hidden stash area, considering someone plugged hole with Oxy pill bottle in cold air intake piping, lol. Appreciate it.

I just replaced the emu thing aka computer. It’s been 2.5 yrs now it went bad a gain. Wtf?

I have a 92 VR4 click no crank issue, tried the jumper on the starter relay...it started. Got new relay it clicked (like the original did) but no crank. Is the relay the issue or do I need to look at something else? Different question...my car is basically stock there was a different waste gate on it and had a mechanic swap for a different one (this shop has done alot of work for me). Before swap I could peg (max out my speedometer, 180) now I have to push it to get to 140...not happy. Asked to put things back but the owner said he wasn't sure what this mechanic did and seeing that he filed charges against him and put him jail (theft) and wouldn't ask him nor will he tell me his name. (The computer has been changed) Do you have any suggestions what could be done to give me back my top end?
