No matter where INFP's start out we always want to travel somewhere else. There are little missing pieces of our hearts and souls scattered all over the world. INFP is a state of mind.

I think I’m a bit of an odd INFP. I don’t mind talking to strangers (if I’m in the mood), and tend to smile and say hello to people regularly. However, I do dislike small talk particularly if it’s in a business setting or lasts for more than a few minutes. Any business related conversation makes my skin crawl as it feel disingenuous to me. The underlying current of making money makes me uncomfortable, and it feels like a necessary evil. I believe I told you my story of my past career in sales. Loads of money, but never felt like myself. Was always stressed, hard on myself, took on too much responsibility, and truly felt like a fraud despite being decent at it at times. Now I’ve no clue what to do 🤷🏻‍♀️ My creative soul is being fed by hobbies, but none have the ability to make me money. Likewise with my passions. I have a huge desire to help animals, but it’s all volunteer work. Anyway, I went off on a bit of a rant. Just feeling a little lost these days.

Also the people wants to talk to us, to me is the same, being nice most of the time, logical, but later i need to be alone gathering my thoughts. Why writing to you?, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the major city in the country, and doing almost the same as you when it comes to work, living, being phony but in a very polite way and in my case, Women, (in the Looove Dpt.), but a few days ago something hit me, i was very Sad, tired and completely beaten, 36 years in the Shadows. Then my wife and my daugther move away to what you call State l, we Province, Córdoba, it is a very beautiful land, so i couldn't live without my Helena(daugther) 11 yo., and it's been 9 years since i'm living here, rivers, lakes, hills, we walked along a creek to school every morning with her, and just a few days ago i begin to realized That! Living in the city i'ts not what we needed, it never was, it never has to be!, you and all INFP'S have to get the hell out of the city you live, because it takes your energy with all the unnecessary people around you, no buildings, Subways, Taxis, so start planning your way out of there, the life you need, what we all need is very close to you! Very Happy Holidays or Muy Felices Fiestas!

I'm like you with the dealing with strangers business; I make an effort to be sociable, even if I don't feel like it - that's how I was raised. Sometimes it's painful; usually it's okay; the odd time it's very satisfying.

As an INFP male living in Finland, i can tell that most of what was said on this video, is completely true. But, if you are someone who's thinking of visiting Finland, there is something you should know. There is still a lot of judgment here, for example, i have been told ever since i was a child, that i was not supposed to show emotion, because i was a boy and when growing up i was told this, not just by my own parents and family, but teachers, friends and, well, sometimes even complete strangers. (i also believe this is the reason why i became so introverted) Anyway, times have changed, but there is still a strong stigma for men not to show emotion or feelings (most certainly not to cry), but i believe that is mostly a problem in the smaller towns nowadays (i grew up in one btw), so if you are planning to visit and are thinking of stepping out of your introverted self, i would stick to the bigger cities, people are (surprisingly so) much more open and helpful in the cites, but if you planning to just keep to yourself, well, then it really doesn't matter where you go, Finland is most certainly a beautiful country, with a lot of good people. And also one more thing, everyone has their favorite time of the year (mine is summer) but i would recommend visiting either, late spring, summer, or early autumn, provided you are going to be "socializing", these are the great times to visit, because even though most Finnish people like winter, the darkness is sometimes quite overwhelming, and seems to affect the mood of almost every citizen, and these long winters are the reason why most people see us as an melancholic nation(but if you are a fan of winter and snow, you also understand to stay out of the cites, because how would you enjoy snow there). But, i wouldn't be a true INFP if i didn't end with this: you do you, and be the best person you can be, in Finland you are allowed to be yourself, just remember to be true to yourself, and also remember to stay positive and like-minded people will find you. P.S. i never write like this to anywhere, simply because i cannot seem to stop, i could write until my fingers bleed, and i still wouldn't be Finished :D

As an INFP who has lived in Norway my entire life, this is so true. I really feel like there is no country better fitting for people with this personality type. I heard a lot of NF people in general, not just INFPs, live in New Zealand. All the countries you mentioned sound lovely. I gotta love those New Zealand accents too hahaha! My uncle is a very STJ western successful type of person. He gave me a lot of advice on following my dreams and motivating me, but he was more focused on my income and seeing me successful from a western point of view rather than my passion and meaning of my career, whilst my cousin was more like "Don't worry about it as long as you do it". They both told me to leave my small country bumpkin home town and explore the world, go to big cities to find and explore new opportunities and careers. I really felt like they spoke to my soul at that point. I think I've always been in love with the idea of going somewhere far away from home and starting over. But I do have an acting career that I need to build experience in around here first. You know, leaving my family behind and escaping away from the old and starting a new family and life far away where my children grow up in a completely different world than the one I grew up in; that sounds so INFP, but I don't know if it's our need to belong or just our desire for adventure and change. Not that I want to never return home, but I don't understand why that appeals to me so much. New Zealand is also about as far away from the U.S. as possible. They say those born in America are the luckiest people on Earth, but I don't know about that. Sure, I am blessed and love my town, but I yearn for more. I've always loved Finland, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, Eastern Europe, and Norway as well.

I'm assuming you don't know how authoritarian the government is. Just the other day, the prime minister held a press conference and demanded all citizens surrender firearms. She proceeded to say that owning a firearm was a privilege and not a right and said they will have no issue surrendering them. I will never live somewhere that picks and chooses what "privileges" you are "allowed" to have and can take them away at will without any vote from the citizens.

I was searching for videos about INFPs (because i am one) and was watching some of your videos...I’m Japanese and was so surprised and felt flattered to know your love for my country☺️ (Btw I studied in New Zealand before and I absolutely loved it there! Oh I miss pavlova😭) I think what you said about Japanese culture was true, except that what you mentioned was only the really good side of it (sadly..😭) Like some people said in other comments, our culture has that one side that hates something sticks out and stand out..but I feel Japan is changing a lot and we are more ready to accept difference. I am an INFP who loves to be different from others (i guess that’s one of the reason why I became a Christian because most people here are Buddhists😂) and be who I am, I have a strong independent values, so like you said in other video I also grew up feeling alone and lonely because I thought no one really understood me. So I guess what INFPs feel is the same in any country😂 But yeah the politeness and the manners we have in Japanese culture is probably what INFPs favour.( my English might not make sense, sorry about that😞)

Japan is more of a judger country than a perceiving one, they're extremely collectivist when compared to western nations. "The nail that sticks out will be hammered down" - Japanese saying I guess that doesn't mean that an INFP wouldn't enjoy spending time in Japan regardless anyway though.

I admire Japan for its idealism in perfectionism? Art, food, packaging. I think if you’re a creative INFP who is into baking, u’d find their snacks & patisserie done to perfection.. a culinary affair kind of trip.. There’s always the artistry aspect of clothing, food & drawing & anime/manga. All that stifling & pragmatism means the animation world becomes an outlet? Just a Guess!!!!!

As an INFP I was watching this hoping Japan would come up as the culture and the people resonate with me - and it was first - thank you, it's on my list to visit next. I met and made some great Japanese friendships many years ago in Australia, before I knew about MBTI and I was an INFP, but it now makes so much sense as to why I bonded with them so effortlessly without knowing the language fully and them not much English - those I befriended and spent time with shared very similar values, a child like sense of wonder and similar sense of humour to me, as an INFP. Also as you mentioned, I preferred speaking with and befriending Japanese travellers over British, as I felt a strange connection and I also enjoyed learning about them and their culture. Thank you for confirming something I felt deep down to be true :)

The people are shy and reserved, yet adventurous and authentic at the same time. The thermal pools in Iceland and the unobstructed wide open and alien like landscapes there were spellbinding and awesome. The perfect places for an INFP to explore and adventure. I'm traveling to Estonia and Finland next month as well. I had a funny feeling before watching this vid that all four of these countries would be in it...just my INFP intuition I guess. I can relate to what a lot of infps are saying here, however as an infp who is Indian, although born and raised in America, I have to worry about racism as well. So, I wonder if all this applies to someone like me who isn't white (I'm Punjabi Sikh, but have more of a middle-eastern look), since people assume that I'm Muslim and they assume all Muslims are bad (not all are racist in America, but plenty to make it hard for a sensitive person). I feel like a lot of white people, even my fellow infps may not understand how us minorities have to really think about this constantly even when we travel. For example, I've heard numerous times that whites are treated better in Japan than other minorities and many of the other countries are white-dominant and I just don't want that constant judgment. It's draining for an infp/hsp/enneagram 4. I don't mean to offend anyone, just sharing my point of view and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an infp friendly country that would be less judgmental. Peace and love to all of you.

I wish my partner would like to move countries too. I would move away from the UK. I hate the weather! I like blue skies and it is almost always grey here. I also don't feel that there are many people like me or with similar interests. Everyone is so negative and I think a lot of it has to do with the weather. On sunny days people are so much happier. However, I love my partner more than wanting to move but I am unhappy here. I know someone who has moved to NZ and said that I would love it. Non-judgemental people and many people are into spiritual practices. This is really a great, well researched video.

lol I've been fascinated by Finland for quite a while I met a guy who was from there once and was fascinated by his take on life He was some kind of high-level executive in some company in Germany but he always made sure he had the time to go skiing or bike riding, and he seemed a bit fed up with the way his work was going. He was, last I knew, in the process of buying a house and also preparing for an exam for some kind of diplomatic office. I think he wanted to experience more of what life had to offer lol also he talked about the Finnish language a bit once when we were with a bigger group and I was instantly fascinated by it too like, theres this one phrase that apparently means like nine different things depending on context and we spent like twenty minutes joking about how these should all be movie titles idk but my reaction was like right on that border between "good grief" and "challenge accepted" so I've been trying off and on to learn the language ever since xD but like I think you're right, even the language fits that description. Its kind of like... I don't even know how to explain why xD it just has this sound to it that just works with that, and the structure of it as well, like, you say what you need to, without it having to be broken into a whole string of words. I like the noun cases it has for that; people are like "aie it has like 15" and I'm sure when I get to that stage they'll be irritating to learn but they're so nice, you don't need 3 whole words to say where you are or things like that, you just tack a lil suffix right onto the end of one word and it does everything you need it to. I don't know that much yet but it sort of feels like you can say a lot without saying a lot :D idk its cool Finland is a place I'd love to visit sometime

Nice list! I love NZ and Iceland in particular - something about the color spectrum in the landscapes. Seem to convey a simultaneous rawness and vivacity, which are just unparallelled. My personal favourite was being able to see the Milky Way though. Lots of light pollution, where I am from, so once I could see it, I just continued gaping and bumping into random objects and/or people. I found Norway to be awesome too though, but in a different way. My wife is Norwegian and she and her family took me on a bunch of car trips in Sogn. Perhaps there it's more about the dramatic contrasts and sheer stillness (for lack of better words)... Thanks for the good stuff! :)

I feel like American society is introverted in ways that some other societies are not, and vice versa. In America, people never show up at your door unannounced, but in China they do that all the time. There's zero privacy in China, and the US is all about privacy. However, Americans value speaking over listening.

I love Japan and China, there is a big difference in traveling as a tourist and traveling to visit with friends. I experienced both countries with friends and their families, a more genuine cultural experience in my opinion. I got to experience daily life and the people in their real living not the superficial tourist view. I'm a California native but live in Sweden for 6 years now. I feel more at home here and in Japan than I do when I return stateside for visits. However I will say there is a lot of passive aggressiveness in these two countries. We also have "allemansrätten" in Sweden you can walk anywhere freely meaning forests and fields .

I'm personally enchanted by the U.S. and Spanish-speaking countries like Spain, Mexico, Cuba... I know those are not very INFP-friendly, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Although I do think I would be most comfortable in a small European country, in an old small-ish city with a nice cathedral and parks. I think the UK would suit me well (plus I already speak the language, unlike all the other ones). I love Scandinavian countries too, but I don't know much about them, and after seeing Midsommar idk if I wanna go 😂 and... Asian countries, while having had interested me in the past (I was a big lover of anime as a kid of course) they now scare me a little bit, after having learned more about them. I myself live in Russia. I'd say it's not good for an INFP, not at all actually, with our freedom-loving nature and big ideals we feel trapped and annoyed at everything that happens. Just like most people living here, really. What I mean is politics of course, domestic in particular. Much like the US.

Bear in mind that the experience and feeling of someone who grew up in a country, and thus is aware of and subject to all the subtle, nuanced social pressures, may be very different from the impressions of a visitor or immigrant, who may not be aware of the more understated social demands, and who may be given more latitude as an outsider. In a way, almost any 'exotic' locale may seem more like 'home' to an INFP.

I'm probably biased and many can disagree with what I will say, but I kinda disagree about Canada being an INFP-friendly country... I live there and to be honest I never felt like being accepted or understood from my fellow canadians. They are generally extroverts and expect us to be super friendly, open and energetic. And there's also a really bad side of this country in my opinion : Canadian are proud to be multicultural and they have a good reputation of being friendly and open-minded, BUT I mostly see it as a facade... Did you know that a big part of Canadians are French, but the English side of Canada often disrespect us (I'm a French Canadian, also called Québécois) and they also DENY our existence and our struggles as a completly different culture in this country ? You know that us INFP like to be respected and to have friendly interactions, so it's pretty hard for me to like a country that don't respect me and that insult my culture... Of course, that's NOT a majority of Canadians, I know (and hope), but this side of Canada makes me wonder if it's really a good place for INFP to be around... false people... In my opinion they appear like that, at least. But I guess a lot of you are English so you'll probably never see this side of Canada, but it's truly painful for me to have my culture ignored, direspected and insulted; and I don't think it's a side that INFP will appreciate. And even in my French province (state) I don't feel like I belong, because I found people extremely extrovert, loud and often judgemental here too so... Ps: sorry for my errors in grammar, like I said I'm not a native english speaker
