My experience has been that the locticians know they need a certain amount of income in a month and they're going to schedule them appts to ensure they have customers coming in to be sure they meet their monthly income.

Just realized I’ve never seen Dr. Cornwell grid nor hair pulled tight, wondering how often shes doing her retires? Always have new growth and a full hairline….something to think about.

I’m getting my second retie tomorrow, and I do think it’s too soon because it still looks nice, but so far I haven’t had any soreness. It does sometimes hurt while she’s retightening it, but I speak up. I’m looking forward to doing it on my own eventually, especially if I only have to do it 4-8 times a year.

I tend to get my hair retightened at 8-9 weeks and I find that to be the best for my hair. However, I’ve noticed that my scalp is much more sensitive bc I’m not styling it the way I did when I was a loose natural. I’ve never been “tender headed” but as soon as I got Sisterlocks the scalp struggle became real. Lol. My head is sore after reties but I do not feel as if my consultants are rough. I think I heard a RU-vidr mention that it’s important to message the scalp daily to help with soreness during reties. I’ll try that next. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you so much 😊

Please people you can NOT wait to long if your hair grows outside of your loc, or you might have hair that grows fine in some areas but the area that grows outside the loc you can redo those and the rest that does not grow outside the loc you can wait and do those later.

My hair has always always grown outside the loc especially in the back. For over 10 years, I've done my retis on average every 11 weeks.

I was upcharged if I stretched my retie and it just became way too expensive for my budget. I started doing my hair and combining my Sisterlocks to microlocs so I can maintain it easier.

Hey Tunisia did I miss the video for knotted locks I cut out the four weeks I want to go to six to start off but the roots root of some locks are thin I may need to do the knotted locks. My hair has recovered so well that I have to hold on to my progress due to the magic hair growth serum.

I hope this question gets answered; My loctition is aware that I use oils in my hair, but request that I come for my reties with a dry scalp, with no oils. Is this something that you would recommend?

I can't possibly see the sense in that, if she also knows you use oil already. That's a time when you actually could benefit from more slide in terms of friction on the hair with the tool and the pulling and need to retangle. But that same slide may make it too slippery for her. I get it. In the end though, is it about her or about your hair?? Everyone has a preference. I was never told that, and I used oil from day one, per my loctiican's advise. If it's her request do you have a choice ( this is subjective, as you know you always have a choice)? If you feel you don't avoid it on the day of, but make sure your scalp is prepared and tangle free and wash your own hair to ensure this. Oil lubricates and smooths and doing this prior to a traumatic retie (which they'll never admit) could be important depending on who the client is and what the condition of that client's hair is on the day of the reti. Tricky situation.

I get mine retied like every 3-4 months.I have had mine for a year now and never had intentions of getting them done every 6 weeks like I was told. Some locticians even try to promote it will cost more if you wait more than the 6-week recommendation, oh well I will pay the upcharge!
