Guys have you noticed anyone doing one of the 5 mistakes? Or have I pointed you towards some technical improvement? I hope you enjoyed the video

I really enjoy your videos sir! I've been training in Krav Maga for nearly a year now, but I still "close" my fists while I shadowbox 😅 Thank you for your tips and advices! Greetings from Rome, Italy

Max Gabrielli many thanks for your kind comment. Whenever you notice something that you can improve, half of your job is done. Now just put it in practice. Closing your fist is not a big mistake, it’s just that when you relax and close the fist on the way to the target your punch will be faster. Also if you don’t close your fist fully you can react faster and do Defences against punches with your open palm. I’m glad you are enjoying the videos and Krav Maga in general. ( new video coming in a day or two) Greetings from Oxford UK!

One technique I have not seen anywhere is defending a straight kick to face or belt area

I can confirm those arguements, personally 😅 I did every single thing on the list when I started 2 years ago, and still do them from time to time. Question: What throws are "beginner friendly" (KMG global P2) and which do you recommend (ease of use, reliability, when to use.....)
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119

Matricious 1 everyone has done them. Just a learning process :). Congrats on your P2! Do you mean beginners friendly JUDO type of throws?

@fit2fightbackkravmaga119
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 4 года назад
Matricious 1 I personally would say that throws are a bad idea not only for beginners but also advanced Kravers unless the right opportunity presents itself. Don’t look for it. When you are throwing someone down, if you haven’t done enough damage they can pull you with them to the ground and if that happens, from a street fight/self defense point of view your situation has just gotten much worse. Throws are starting at level G1 in Krav Maga KMG syllabus and the reason is that beginners would probably have trouble performing them. Would probably overuse them as they look cool and they wouldn’t know the danger mentioned above. On the technical level I’ll think of posting a video on how to do them and how you can end up with a nice opportunity for a cool and effective throw. Hope that helps. Enjoy your training!

Which technique would you say is the most important to get perfect?
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 5 лет назад
Good question. I would say number 4 is the most fundamental that will affect everything else in your fighting if not understood and practiced but number 1 makes people look hilarious :) so pretty important to fix as soon as possible too! And mistakes on number 3 can get you knocked out so I would say that's a pretty important one to handle too :) Which one are you going to focus on first?

@@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 well, it depends on which one is your most vulnerable OR which one of those flaws are the easiest to fix and we'll start from there? For me as a moderate martial arts practitioner, I have issues balancing on my stances and tends to look like clownish as you mentioned above, because I tend to lose my footing when I execute some moves, such as the back or front hook kick.

I thought in Krav Maga we stand in stance with hands open infront of our face and we strike with palms if we need to strike. Just asking. Seen alot of different videos. I'm new to Maga.
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 2 года назад
Hey Frank, very good question. The full answer would be quite complex but in short: both (open palm and fists) are good depending on the situation and both have advantages and disadvantages. For many reasons (including non aggressive look and much smaller possibility of injury to an untrained person) for people who are new to Krav I would say open palm is a better option but then hitting softer targets fist is a much better tool. For that reason we have a saying: "Hard to soft, soft to hard". I recommend this video to understand higher level details: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3hf6z1zZKZA.html

Question about the fist, to protect the fingers, can you strike without a closed fist where the knuckles engage the target?
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 2 года назад
Not sure if I understand your question well but open palm strike is a great option but you will connect with the target with the base of your palm not the knuckles so I’m not sure if I understood you well.

How do you establish your dominant position when you are ambidextrous? In most sports I am left hand dominant for speed (hockey goalie, baseball, etc.) but have much more control/creative movement with my right. Legs I don’t notice a difference in strength or position. Thanks in advance.
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 4 года назад
That's pretty cool! You have a big advantage against 'norma' people. Generally fighting a left handed person for right handed people is a challenge, simply because right handed people are not often presented with that problem but... left handed person almost ALWAYS fights right handed people so there is an advantage on that side. There are many aspects of your situation generally very good and only sometimes it poses a little problem when initially you are trying to copy the movement of the instructor but you have to revers everything. Quick advice: 1. generally in whatever stance you choose to stand avoid the power side of your opponent... circle away from it whenever possible. 2. It's cool to be ambidextrous but force yourself to stay mostly in one stance so you keep a fighting stance instead of switching all the time as every switch is a compromised moment in therms of your balance and ability to throw a punch or a kick. Not to mention that you can trip over a curb in a street fight when you are switching your legs position. 3. Watch T J Dillashaw from UFC as he is probably the top guy who switches his stance the most in the UFC (the rest generally stick to their dominant position). I don't like switching stances too much because of the maintained disadvantages (especially in a street fight) but I can't deny that TJ Dillashaw is an artist in what he does and it works for him very well. Hope that helps! All the best, Edmund

Hey one question. I have arthritis (Ankylosing Spondylitis), I'm 25, can I learn krav maga?
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119
@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 2 года назад
Hi Abhay, I'm sorry to hear you are not perfectly well. I'm not a doctor so what I say is only my opinion not an advice. In good Krav Maga schools you can decide how hard you personally train and what training drills you skip. So if you want to train Krav Maga the only thing that can stop you is the pain you feel caused by your condition. As for my opinion about arthritis, it is an autoimmune condition which can be fully reversed by NEVER eating inflammatory foods like sugars, grains, vegetables, nuts and many others. If you want to know more look into carnivore diet. It saves many people from a lot of suffering. I hope you get better soon! All the best!

@@fit2fightbackkravmaga119 ya man I want to learn it but damn this Ankylosing. Btw I'm perfectly fine, I do basic stretching, yoga and I feel fine. Living normal life without any pain or any disabilities. But even little bit of physical exercise even 10 push-ups for 3-4 days aggravates the pain. As a trainer and now having familiar to my condition, what would say? Will my body be able to endure it?. PS: Doctors suggested me to be physically active.

I would say it all depends on the fighter. Krav Maga has all the tools MMA has and more the question is about the abilities and experience of an individual fighter. One thing to remember is to spar in training a lot as a Krav Maga fighter otherwise you have no chance agains a MMA fighter as they do spar and fight in training all the time.
