First of all, if you’re watching this one arm handstand tutorial, congratulations on striving to achieve the challenging movement that is the one arm handstand (OAHS). Whether you’ve come here because you would like to get started down the path of achieving a one arm handstand (you are a one arm handstand beginner), or have been working towards it for awhile already, I hope this video will help you get further down that path.
If you’ve already gotten started on your training towards the one arm handstand (OAHS), you might have already come to realize that it is indeed a journey - not a quick one - and perhaps that is the first thing you will need to embrace about this movement.
Beyond the obvious - building up to the required strength and balance to be able to perform the one arm handstand (OAHS) - there are certain things I think will be helpful to keep in mind for anyone training towards their one arm handstand (OAHS). In this video tutorial I will go over the 5 one arm handstand mistakes I see people making most often.
I believe that, if you are able to keep these common mistakes in mind and gain control over them, your training towards the one arm handstand (OAHS) will be made more efficient and effective.
Check out my bodyweight workout & handstand training app which includes a one arm handstand foundations programs (will be updated with more intermediate one arm handstand programs as well). For now the OAHS foundations will help you lay the fundamental position for the one arm handstand as well as introduce drills and programming aimed at getting a solid finger supported one arm handstand. :

Thanks for the insights, great content. I really appreciate your statement about the long journey, no bu****it like HS in 5 minutes. I am 32 and currently still struggle with the normal HS. Looking forward to come to a OAHS in maybe 3 years. The most important thing is to enjoy the journey to not give up 👍

I am trying to be a contrast to the "5 minute abs" and handstand in 30 days videos out there, hehe 😜 It may not give me the same amount of clicks, but I am aiming at creating valuable content that I wish I had access to when starting out about 10 years ago 😊 If you'd like some ideas for how to structure your HS training, I have both complete porgrams and workouts in my newly launched app :) There is a 7 day free trial, so if you don’t enjoy it, you don’t pay for it 😊 www.bergmovement.com/movement-trybe-app

I enjoy the smiles you throw at times, like saying 'I know, I know, but I will keep saying this anyway' haha, cool videos and skills! I will try the chess-to-wall touching the toes! I'm around 70/80 seconds handstand and decent control on shapes transitions and I can press and pike press more or less ok, so I'm definitely going towards the OAHS now but I see how patient I need to be! I wonder how long it will take! Thanks!

Hahah, it is probably reflecting the fact that I still remember very well how it is all like and that I made all of these mistakes myself 😅 Good luck on your OAHS journey 😊 seems like you have a good starting point 👌 You could check out my OAHS foundations program in my newly launched app 😊There is a free trial, so you can cancel and pay nothing if you dont enjoy it: www.bergmovement.com/movement-trybe-app

I recently hired some help for editing 😅 It is an investmend since I am not making nay money on my RU-vid content at the moment, but I really don’t have time to edit weekly videos myself in between my own training, my PhD studies, content creation and working on my app

I know it changes slightly from person to person but where do you personally stare at while you’re performing your one arm handstands?

Whats the difference between chest to wall vs back to wall for OAHS. Its just my own logic i know one can achieve a OAHS without the wall if they are solid straight stable with 60 straight handstand. Because that makes the learning curve easier the more solid the basics are. But my logic says the wall definitely got carryover to the OAHS while other pro handbalancing coaches say it dosent it gives a false sense of balance. but i dont think they are right. Because that clearly depends on how your use the wall assisted variations. It is useful for teaching the body how to combat the rotation. I actually did try to play with the technique the rotation is mostly lack of 180 degree shoulder flexion and proper amount of push. Its not really a goal for me i only did play with the technique purely body understanding wise. But main point is as long the wall isnt bearing 100% of your weight only supporting you to a mild degree and doing the balance as much as possible yourself

Hey ! You said in a previous video that you only workout with calisthenics, so what's your legs/calves routine ? You seem to have pretty decent legs, so i'm quite interested to know how you did it :)
@Sondre_Berg

Hey man :) I have periodically worked on single squat variations, verticle jumping and sissy squat variations. Most of the time though, practicing specific skills and actrobatics has been my way of going about it :)
