First off, you don't go into relationships to "Fix or Change" people...or the problems. Only communications and to some extent compromising will resolve matters, or at the very least...decide if you need to move on. If you wanted the relationship to work, you should've accepted them the way they are, and may try to subtlety and gradually work out the problems between you!

i was the dumper and its been a little over a month. I loved her with all my heart and gave her everything she ever could ask for. I lost myself in her, but she never saw it and continuously was clouded with doubt over insecurities that i couldnt do anything about. I felt like no matter what I did, she would never believe me fully when I said Iloved her and that led to me torturing myself until I ended it. I still feel a lot of love for her but I know its too late to do anything for us because truthfully if she was right I wouldnt have ended it. Truthfully I feel like the grass isnt greener, but that is because my head is now filled with all of the good memories and the bad ones fade away until I remind myself what I went through in the end. I dont know why im replying to this 6 month old comment, but yeah i think the best thing to do is just try to stop thinking about the other person.

@@so_sofs5957 im just over 3 months out of a 9 year relationship, with a child too, she broke up with me.. then she slept with someone else..not knowing i fought for her, about 1 month later i found out she did slept with someone, then she wanted to make things work.. lasted maybe a week until she wasn't sure still.. so i broke it off, few weeks later she has a new boyfriend.. and now yeah it did hurt but time really does heal, everyday im getting stronger and stronger, best thing to do is, catch up with old friends, and stay active, you will occasionally cry and feel down, but you will get better :)

Currently going through a breakup as the dumpee and doing a lot of self love work, practicing hobbies, learning new things, being social with friends and family (although mostly over the phone due to COVID-19). Getting my stuff packed up to move in with a friend. He’s usually at his parent’s house when not at work and seems to be doing fine, besides the fact that he used to drink maybe twice a year and has been drinking every weekend since he broke up with me. They don’t, i went through living hell, my ex of 1 year ago wanted to marry me all this stuff blah blah blah, cheated on my with her college sweetheart ran off moved away by him got engaged 3 months after they started dating, it was HELL for me, I finally started to try and move on with my life I got a girl I wanted for a long time, that didn’t work out but it boosted my confidence sky high, needless to say she had some qualities my ex had so I ran before I got more invested, anyways that ex who got engaged right away I hear is miserable, she called of her wedding, telling people she thinks she made a huge mistake, he’s not the guy she thought he was and so on. So it hurts like hell, it stings, but play the long game, in the end you’ll eventually win and get back out there who knows what could happen.

Same yo! 5 years relationship but i was at fault as well. Took her for granted and she wanted to breakup. I apologized and said i will change. But without me knowing, she dated this guy for a week and decided to not give me a second chance. Less than a month later they got official and it broke me down to my core. Filled with anger and hatred at the beginning, but i soon got into meditation and it helped a ton. Now i see all my past mistakes and swore to change myself for the better. I've cried and grieved, but the memories remain. The only thing I could do now is to be thankful to her for those memories and that her breaking up with me made me realize my mistakes and change myself for the better. Honestly, even after 2 months of not texting nor meeting her, i would say I've only healed 15%...... Made huge strides in improvement activities but my heart remains in her hands.....hope we can all get through this together! Stay strong fam!

One important thing i learned after all of this - discipline is actually makes you love and value yourself so much, that its a must! Be strong, become stronger, for you, not for someone else. Heartbrake is a good push to start transformation, or increase it intensity (im always work on myself, but now its like 300% of what was before). One simple thought makes me stop worrying about it all - if the person who you trust, who shares with you intimate moments and know you better than anyone esle dumped you just like that, it is clearly a betrayal. So would you worry so much about person who did this to you? Yeah, i wouldnt also. Cheers, mate! Its all good.

Well I am fighting to Get her back. We have a kid together. We had several issues, and not everything was my fault, But as a man I should have handled it very differently. Hindsight is always 20/20... I needed to look inwards and I am still in the process. Hope she will give it a new and fresh start in the future. Doesn’t look too good now.. but miracles do happen. But the moral is, be nice to your girl no matter what..

How long did it take you to feel better? I am the Dumper too but I feel horrible. Lot's of regret and can't stop thinking I made a mistake.
