Man, I love it when I am trying to pick up items from the enemies I just killed, and then Tulin gusts them off a cliff and makes them despawn! Thanks Tulin!
I had Tulin kill me once. Literally. I was fighting a monster camp (in the depths), while intentionally at one heart in order to get the knight's weapons' double damage bonus. Tulin got a headshot on an electric lizalfos, which caused a large shock-bubble thing, which... killed me. Literally Tulin's fault. I've also had Tulin get headshots on soldier IV constructs, and knock the still-alive construct with its horn, weapon, zonai charges, and everything else valuable all the way to the surface.
Mine: "Dragon farming is so good in this game, dragon parts always drop on the safe ground so I can pick them up easily, they never drop into the chasms or out of map"
I mean… unironically kinda yeah lol the dragons are way more accessible in this game at more points and times. Even if you aren’t able to approach from above, a rocket shield combined with Zonaite Bow and Keese Wing pretty much guarantees you still get a part you want. And skydiving to catch them is generally easier than waiting to get them on the ground assuming you are on their back. I personally like it more in this game.
@@Diamond_Aura I haven't done a lot of dragon farming yet, I'm doing side quests/caves atm so I've seen dragons like 7 times near to me. 3 times out of these it was around chasms and end of the map. After I shot them, materials just dropped into the abyss and unloaded. I'm still raging about that a little so I've commented this. I wasn't trying to say that dragon farming is worse than in Botw, I just hate the fact that materials can disappear like this.
@@mopsik56 interesting. I haven’t explicitly sought them out too much (to the point of calling it ‘farming’), I’ve only gone for them when I see they’re already nearby, and after like 120+ hours and beating the game and getting a bunch of upgrades, I’ve not lost a single dragon part once I’ve shot it lol
@@Diamond_Aura I'm just unluckiest person ever, I've got used to it. But three times almost in a row dragon parts disappearing right in front of your face was... pretty irritating
Now I haven’t played totk yet but in the original I didn’t mind all the yiga grunts. They were easy to kill and always left rupees and bananas so it was just easy farming.
SLIGHT SPOILERS What are you saying, isn't it cool to go in the yiga clan hideout, learn the earthquake technique, get the thunderhelm, and become a blademaster?
Okay honestly I do miss the Cryonis rune from BotW. So many situations where I wish I had it and didn't want to use up my limited amount of icefruit or white chu jelly
Make an ice sheet with an ice fruit/frost emitter/etc, and fuse it to a spear. Then attack with it over water. If you time it right, you can walk forward, attack, walk forward, attack, and repeat until you're across the water without even jumping. Sometimes the angle doesn't work from land, but once you're on a sheet on the water it works well.
In BotW, cryonis was outclassed by just about every other system. Crossing water? zora set, only further boosting the effectiveness or lack thereof by completely bypassing its use or reducing the needed break spots it creates. Waterfall? zora chest piece. As for TotK, though it might be more useful overall, it is still outclassed by fuse. Any ice weapon can freeze water, and from there you can then fuse that same frozen water onto a spare weapon to always have an option. ice sheets make ice guster weapons, and as both a pro and con, you only need to stand next to a fire to remove the material when you are done with it instead of going out of your way to navigate the menus. Sure, wasting resources is annoying, but the ability to turn a single ice fruit or white chu jelly into infinite* uses helps mitigate the wadte.
@@mr.sniffly5297 the main point is that it still exists in its exploration form thanks to the ability to fuse an ice sheet to a weapon. i havent experimented enough to know if it consumes durability when freezing water, but the master sword itself almost completely negates that issue. Heck, it is even faster to swing a sword than aim cryonis, so i dont really understand the complaint. The only thing that is missing from its removal is its extremely niche combat use. It takes more effort to turn an ice sheet into a wall, and ice attacks cant be negated by shattering the cryonis blocks the attack takes the form of. The latter was used almost exclusively in the water dungeon, and the former often has other equivalent alternatives for cover simply from the level/world design.
I'm pretty sure that's why they had Sophie compete and Peter host for once because she knew enough about the game to be a challenge but not as much so that she would give the Underdogs no chance of winning (whereas I'm pretty sure Peter would steamroll the Underdogs if he was the chaser)
@@Navman_ I feel like Peter's knowledge is about the same as Sophie - he's played the game but isn't a fanatic and super into it like he is for Pokémon.
I really like how the sages are all up next to you when you’re trying to pick up items, but they’re far away from you when you actually need their abilities! Over all, it’s very well-designed! The Great Fairy upgrade system is very well-designed too! Doesn’t clash with the Fuse system at all! Also, I LOVE that Koroks are back and that the final reward is still Hestu’s Gift! Amazing stuff!
4:27 considering that the game tells you exactly where every single one is, yeah, they are really easy to find, the only thing that stopped me was having way too many other things to do but once I decided to do it it was really easy
i didnt do it the intended way and it was so fun. when impa told me to go to the temple to learn about it i got distracted and never went there and just did all the memories when i just saw them in the world. it was so cool to just stumble onto one and watch it during my journey. but i agree that having the temple kinda ruins it
"I love the changes they made to the faries. Finding a band member in the midde of who knows where with a stupid quest and hauling the crew to the flower is so much fun, and they finaly balanced the resource costs for upgrading gear - especially since it takes 760 Rupees for a single 4 star item! These stats and set bonuses are always so OP, it's worth it to spend hours of grinding resources as Nintended." (To be honest, I do say some of these.)
0:00 I say that. I physically cannot torture a Korok. i feel immediately obligated to take them to their friend whenever I find one I also never threw the penguin off the cliff in Mario 64. Now i feel like I’m missing out on something.
@@CJ-nz4wq yeah I feel like he barely even deals damage, I think the last two are most useful because you actually have to do a certain movement. Besides Tulin is VERY helpful in the sky
I'm thankful that we have a couple of pet birds - feeling bad for them still being awake (they're in our recreational space since outside of work that's where we spend most of our time) is what got us to go to bed at even a slightly reasonable hour when playing through TotK...
@@petery6432 yes the refineries will sell stuff to you for crystallized charges once you max your battery, including big batteries (the only way to get them renewable)
@@paulrance5445 this is why this game is amazing. I didn't even know this because I'm focused on getting all of the shrines and glowroots done right now. Now I'm gonna start maxing my Power Wells so I can stock up on big batteries and travel the world easier for when I go for Korrok Seeds. There's so much to learn that can enhance your gameplay, but they leave it as an open experience to learn the mechanics through ourselves via trial and error, or through others via word-of-mouth or tutorials. It really leaves itself open for people to truly experience it how they want to experience it.
@mrdiaperboy1242 it uses shield durability, and expends resources to some degree. I like it as an option, and I like Tulin a lot, but I still miss Revali.
4:25 This is actually one of the things I think they did better in BOTW. Having to actually figure out where the different pictures were taken was really fun, and in comparison, the geoglyphs just seems kinda boring to find. Not to mention that getting them out of order spoils the entire story.
I got them out of order and I didn’t feel the story was spoiled. I did pretty much everything in hebra first so I saw the (spoilers) Demon king awakening cutscene early on, but I still had no idea what led up to it. If anything it only made me more curious as to how the rest of the story unfolded. And I mean if the issue was story spoilers, BOTW does way worse there IMO because the entire story is spoiled from the beginning. King rhoam and impa exposition dump everything you need to know about the calamity before you can even start with the memories. And the fact you can’t do BOTWs memories “out of order” just goes to show how few actual plot moments they had, most were just Zelda talking to link and developing her character (to be fair I think she had good character development). I do understand why you prefer the original style of needing to look for the memories though, I thought that was pretty fun too especially with the clues pikango gives you, but I don’t mind them being simpler this time
@@JacobPDeIiNoNi Yeah getting that part spoiled is fine I guess, but my friend found the very last one first which has flashbacks to all the other memories. After that he just didn't really enjoy the story because he already knew what happens and how.
To be fair it’s much better in this game. The main problem with long throw in BOTW is you lose your weapon by doing it, but in this game if you use recall you can throw any weapon and have it come back to you, hitting enemies again on the way. Basically turn anything into a boomerang. And that works well with long throw
I love videos like this of yours! I think you're at your best when you make funny deep-dives, and so it's great to see stuff like this. Hope you'll be streaming more TOTK soon!
2:22 to be fair early late game if you want to save your food it’s still a good idea if you finally think about healing when you are down five hearts for a quick heal
“I am so glad they brought durability back. They should make forced weapon switching a part of every game from now on. I would hate having the option to keep the weapons I use to make builds designed around how I personally like to play.”
You definitely forgot #51: "Yeah, I'm definitely gonna update the game! I'm so glad to get glitches fixed and have to farm the dragons for hours to find them and get their parts!" AND #52: "Awesome! They added an additional 100 Korok seeds! And SUPER AWESOME! Now there's Bubbul gems to collect as well!" AND of course #53: "The sky and depth are just packed with interesting stories and enemies! I love that they got rid of the guardians and golden enemies! Can't wait for a DLC to drop to get them back for only 19.99$, without adding anything else! Game was so cheap anyway. And boy do I NOT miss to see the exact enemy health." 4:40 - That one with the ring ruins made me wanna have a mod that makes all NPCs permanently killable. But jokes aside: I just tried out this glitch, where you're holding multiple weapons at once. I held 14 Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore's with Molduga Jaws fused, simultaneously and one-shot King Gleeok. Man that felt good. Without the glitch it takes me at least 10 hits plus the three shots to the eyes to bring him down, once. Ain't nobody got time for that
“So glad they carried over weapon Durability from botw. Not being able to play with the weapons and playstyles I enjoy most without constantly grinding to replace them is amazing and should be a part of every game!”
Im simple when it comes to Koroks. I don’t create some horrible contraption. I don’t deliver them to their friend. I just spawn a rocket, stick it to him and send the sucker to space. It’s still funny to this day
0:42 you clearly don't understand how much TotK players want more battery life for contraptions. I'm always on the hunt for more crystalized charges to increase my battery life.
I save my apples for my horses now. It may seem silly because I maxed out my bond with them a while ago but it's the only way I can show affection to them without constantly soothing them while riding them. I also love the koroks. They are just too cute for me to hate. I attacked Calip for few minutes because of how frustrating he was always stopping me from exploring the rings.
I don't know how people will take this, but the tests of strength in botw felt more like "do you have the gear for this" than "are you skilled enough". The proving grounds being the replacement I feel is a good thing, as they really test your knowledge of game mechanics and combat.
the geoglyph tears are easy though. just skydive from above and find a white tear looking thing from above, you’ll notice all of the other ones are empty.
As someone who did hate eventide island: the shrines aren't disappointing, just annoying. Edit: Also, I do miss the cryonis rune. It was good for whistle fishing '^' I miss Stasis more, though. Imagine all the cool physics explots we could do with stasis knocking AND recall. 2: Wait, they actually block you from going into the ring ruins before the Mineru quest? I hadn't even tried entering it before that, wasn't particularly interesting and I wanted to get my stealth gear and keep exploring, so I had no idea. Lol. 3: Hey, I do miss Revali's Gale, it was cool to get height without spending materials '^' and I miss the other champion's powers too. Except Urbosa's, I rarely use charged attacks and I hated Vah Naboris (music slaps and lore is awesome; yiga stealth section, following Riju's bubble on sand seal and Thunderblight sucked). Though I think I miss Mipha's Grace more than Revali's Gale, the revival with full health and extra hearts is sorely missed.
Thank you, I also miss Cryonis and Ravioli's Gale. Kinda dumb that any form of travel seems to cost something. Including running on foot... because it takes sanity. I won't start on the stinking Eventide shrines though-
@@RadiantSharaShaymin right??? I've been collecting horses and a hefty amount of zonai devices + stamina foods (and maxed out stamina) and even still, traversing the map can be a pain. Like, c'mon... I basically mastered gliding and skydiving because I hate climbing.
Not messing with koroks and not bothering with paraglider cloths because they're purely aesthetic is, in fact, me. I don't experience the dark pleasure most people get from consequence-free torment.
I like the Geoglyphs but it seems unfortunate that they allow you to do them in any order when like, the Master Sword one alone will spoil like the majority of the previous ones all in one fell swoop. They Should’ve either made them less important to do in order, or forced them to be done in order imo. I still did them in the proper order but everyone I hear who didn’t is a bit annoyed
To be fair, the spoiler-y ones are more out of the way. The master sword one isn’t near any of the main areas in a spot most players only go later in their playthrough
@@DM-of5sl I disagree, I think glyph at the outer edge of the Lost Woods will at least be seen by more players before they go to the Ganondorf one in Gerudo or the knife one or secret stone ones on the eastern coasts. The game encourages you to go to Rito village first and then after you do that, to go towards the stable closest to the Master Sword Glyph right after. Besides even if they hid it in like, the deepest area of Hebra instead, the cutscene itself is still too spoilery of the previous ones. Feels like it should’ve been locked till you did the previous ones, similar to the final tear
They literally hold your hand and lead you to the correct order right after you are getting encouraged to go to the first one, it's not really their fault you decide to get freaky with your exploration
@@kurai5200 while I indeed did them in the “correct” order, you’d be surprised how many of my friends didn’t. Some didn’t even notice that the order in the forgotten temple walls was to show you the order they happen in, and then they felt jipped getting “spoiled” by the game itself of important things, because it came to them out of order… Imagine seeing end game plot twists/developments in Twilight Princess before you’ve even finished getting the first few dungeons done; while the story itself might be cool and nicely written, allowing the player to discover it in any order can ironically hurt the story because of its presentation
I'm guessing you use the Autobuild trick to collect them? Sticking 20 together and saving the schema so it collects them into a pile for you to pick up? Just mentioning it in case you didnt know it existed, to make your farming easier. (It also does differentiate between normal and gold apples, so golds will need their own autobuild for collecting.)
